Graphics.

Do those have any filtering at all? Any extra modifications to the cfg files or something like that? Or is that an accurate representation of how things have declined?

No. Meaning in the current Cannon of BT, I think the highest natural speed (non MASC) of a mech is about 129. In the version here, you can increase engine sizes to the point where mechs are going over 150kph. You have many mechs that were never meant to go over 100 KPH hitting that with ease. That what Im referring to as inflated speeds. It effectively neuters MASC

Alright, thanks, didn't know that. Very interesting.

Those are completely unedited pictures, as far as I'm aware.

The edited ones are much better looking, like this one.

I checked my numbers. There are few mechs that go 150 or slightly over naturally. The Clan Fire Moth is one. But the statement is still generally true that speeds are inflated, with some heavys able to hit 90+. This directly effects the usefulness of the Flea especially sine one of its big selling points is MASC.

^This

This is actually the first time I ever got upset with PGI. I had my AH, loved it, one of my fav mediums, and then they just ganked it out of my hangar because it was too similar to the Yen Lo

Something else that was removed:

- LRM's used to have cool spiral patterns when they were fired. They didn't just shoot straight as an arrow. (as seen here http://youtu.be/sub2J-bJBRo)

It's so depressing that we keep remembering more and more stuff. When I started this thread, I had four things on the list.

But yeah, good one! Spiralling missiles as seen in the Warhammer vs Atlas trailer they did.

I actually don't know. It was just removed. I didn't notice it immediately, and only realized it - probably - months after it was taken out. I suspect that it was removed somewhere during the hit detection problems they were having, or one of the many, many LRM nerfs. We were just so concerned about everything else wrong with LRMs, we didn't notice that they removed something that was right with them.

I think it had something to do with most missiles hitting CT

The longer CW takes the more I expect from it.

With so many removed/"unable to add" little things done I don't know what I should think about this game anymore

Well that's another issue. They've had over 3 years to plan, create, and implement CW. Given that much time it had better be amazing if they want customers to like it

I'm fully expecting not to like it, but keep playing anyway. I haven't stuck around since 2012 because PGI kept promising CW. For me, the only question is whether they'll have enough maps and game modes to keep me interested. If not, I'll probably just start taking breaks.

But this is the only Mechwarrior game out there, basically. I don't want to go back to MW4 at this point. But I need my Battletech fix.

I'm going down with the ship.

I think everything they removed will be added back in with small changes.

I like to joke they took out the colored heat vision because it didnt fit into their red, brown and grey color scheme for the game

Of all the things they removed I miss the knockdowns and the colored heat vision most. I think the colored heat vision will be a module some time and same with KD.

Advanced targeting behavior/mechanics from olden games (multiple options for targeting contacts, setting nav points, cycling friendlies, advanced weapon grouping selection). HTAL Armor Selection. Side View and Rearview camera LosTech. The old games had em. You could shoot 90 degrees in those games without having to expose your CT at all.
