That raven is one of the hardest to do.

#1. Stay close to your buddies
#2. Stay close to ECM
#3. Do Not stand still ever, EVER! stay mobile
#4. Use hit and run tactics, take a shot, hide, work those angles.
#5. Never ever commit yourself to a fight you can't run away from quickly when you're in a light.
#6. Enemy will always be looking to you for a cheap easy kill, use it against them, work around behind him so he turns his back to your teamates, let them do the kill shots, you get as much CB if not more for assist kills anyway.
#7. If you're alone, you die, unless you're amazing or have ECM working for you.
#8. Never turn your back to the enemy unless you have alot of armor there, always face your enemy and shoot if possible if you can, even while running away.

When you die with 26 damage, it means you're bad. The other folks on your team should be complaining about the matchmaker for putting you on their team.

"Dude" i had enough games where i was in my full elited, custom build mechs and did top damage and we still got roflstomped. from this screen i was trying to level the last one the ravens to master my 3L. i dont care about my damage as we got killed one after another within a few minutes.and in ALL of those 6 matches my team got stomped, the enemy has had more ecm and more LRM support.. it was all gathered on one team wich wasn't unfortunately, my team.Running around with stock enginge, TAG and NARC to farm xp isn't really that fun if your whole team has only one LRM 10, almost no ECM and just gets overwhelmed.i don't know how many of your posters here playing PUG games, looks like almost nobody. And you guys, who only drop in groups wanna tell me that i'm wrong with the situation wich is currently going on in PUG games?i only play PUG, and this screen shows whats going on every fricking day and it has to stop.

thanks, i'm trying to do it and i think i know how and what to do. but there is no chance to survive longer when your whole team is getting melted in a short duration of time.especially when leveling such a poor, light and slow mech ;)i'm not complaining about the mech i level or whatever.... i'm complaining about groups or much higher elo lvl players stomping the noobs and low elo players ..... or whatever i'll be called while leveling this raven.

Guys, you can ramble all you want against bad players and how they are part of the problem. You are right by the way, but that doesn't solve the problem. The thing is (and the Challenge showed that more than clearly) that the matchmaker "deals out" bad streaks on a regular basis. While veteran players can cope with this, it is a really bad way of introducing new players to the game. How much fun do you think a new player has when he gets beaten 5 or six times in a row? And that while only firing few shots before your team gets rolled.

No matter how bad a player is, with our magical Elo it should be guaranteed that he is on the winning side now and again. Because no matter how dumb he is, statistically there should be someone on the other side who is equally dumb to counter it.
The question is, why does it not work that way?

this turns out the fun for everyone who is 9/10 times on the losing side. (I'm talking about PUG games!)

Elo without Battle Value is not an accurate representation.

Elo does to some degree work. Remember, Elo is essentially a 'bookie' betting that you will either win or lose a game against those opponents and with your teammates. It cannot take into account a ton of bad play, good play and just plain dumb luck. This ain't baseball.

3/3/3/3 is too easily thrown away because of the small player base. We need tens to hundreds of thousands online at any one time. Wee've got maybe thousands to tens of thousands at peak hours. It's not enough and so it's too often thrown out.

Clan mechs are unbalanced deliberately, and so the team with the most clan mechs most often wins. Other deciding factors seems to be ECM, AMS and LRMs which can tip the scales into stomptown.

Weight restriction is not implemented except as a function of 3/3/3/3. Once that metric is thrown out... so goes the weight restriction.

I know your feels man. Blame the community and PGI failing it's deadlines till this year. Unfortunately, I don't know if it's too late or not. We'll see once CW kicks in... and I have some sinking feelings there.
