I'll try to get the Black Tigers interested. But our 1 of our best mechwarriors has been latency nerfed to over 400ms even before the data center migration. He is using TMnet Streamyx and they have done something funny that denies dropping in game unless one uses a VPN overseas.

I'm keen, I usually sit at about 260-270ms, but am at 400 until my ISP gets their act together and stops sending data the long way. (I am not hopeful, Australia's ISP situation is a really good demonstration of monopoly leading to terrible consumer experience)

On the 13th Legion side I'd say we're pretty okay with the whole idea. We'll try to make it on soon as you guys have a schedule for the matches.

The 13th will be informed and probably field a couple of four-man lances...might not personally be involved though as real life is cutting into my meching time.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Please note that this is going to stretch out over a 2 month period or so (could be slightly longer depending on number of entries) and I expect any latency issues to be resolved. No harm including anyone that is currently having issues (as most of us probably are) on the Participating Unit's Team Roster since there is no limit to the number of team members.

If Unit leaders or representatives can make the meeting on Friday, it will be helpful as we want to get 1 representative from each Participating Unit to be available to sit on a Dispute Tribunal, if necessary. The Tribunal's function will be to address and decide on disputes that may arise during the course of the Season.

Also, we would like to discuss the mechanism for using Free Private Matches which will require assistance from the community as scraping up 16 people on an ad hoc basis in time for a Challenge is likely to pose difficulties.

Feel free to post any questions you may have here so that we can address it ASAP.

Why only one lance per outfit/unit?
We have 30+ players in the 13th.
All would like to participate.

-snip-

As this is the inaugural season for the League, we wanted to keep the number of teams to a manageable number as we anticipate that issues will arise since participants are likely to be new to this kind of event and we are running a different format from any of the existing competitive events.

At the same time, we wanted to have as many Units participating as possible in order to maximize the League's exposure across a broad a segment of the community. Hence, the restriction to 1 team per Unit for this season.

As long as the latency & play time requirements are met, there is no limit on the number of members on a Unit's Team Roster nor any restriction against using different players for every match in a Challenge.

It is entirely possible to allow 12 different players to participate in a single Challenge. We also expect that each team will have a minimum of 6 Challenges thus allowing a pretty large number of people to participate during the course of the Season.

While this may not be an entirely satisfactory solution, it would at least allow as many people as possible to participate at this time.

Edit: LoLz at Dar1ng's post :)

I would love to, but my ping is too low ... typically 180-220 ... if you'd reconsider the entry requirements, I know a few other guys who would definitely be interested.

Edit: after reviewing my 50 most recent screen shots, not quite as low as I thought ...
... average: 213, min: 184, max: 274, standard deviation: 27 (so 186-240 normally)
