What time of day were you thinking of hosting the matches?
It is flexible and can be arranged by the unit leaders as they negotiate the time beforehand once the brackets are released. There is more information about this in the Google Docs link in the original post above.

some corps have enough people to field more then one lance how do you/we plan to handle it?
We are only permitting one lance per unit. You are free to rotate the members after each round if you like to give as many of your unit members a chance at participating. Its a balance between keeping the seasons short and giving smaller units a chance against the larger ones.

The 2 hour time frame posted in the Eligibility section represents the most optimum time available for matchups over the 5 time zones indicated. While it may be possible for alternate times to be negotiated between teams, it is likely to be inevitable that at some point an Australian / Asian matchup will only be playable in the indicated 2 hour window. Ergo, you must be able to field a team that can play during that particular 2 hour window.
In the event of a failure to agree on some other mutually acceptable match time, the team that is unable to field a team during that 2 hour window will be deemed to be the team conceding a forfeit. If both teams are unable to field a team at that specified time, both teams will be deemed to have concede a forfeit with neither being awarded any points for that match / Challenge

Edit: after reviewing my 50 most recent screen shots, not quite as low as I thought ...
... average: 213, min: 184, max: 274, standard deviation: 27 (so 186-240 normally)
Hopefully the latency situation settles down soon so that we can re-evaluate the threshold. If average pings for Australian / Asian players drop down to low 300's on average, it may be possible to lower the threshold slightly. However, at the moment with so many reporting 300+ latencies, I personally think we may have to increase it if it persists.
As a point of clarification, in the interest of creating as level a playing field as possible from a latency perspective, the threshold was selected specifically to avoid or minimize situations where there would be more than 150ms ping between the highest and lowest pings in a match.
Edited to include possibility of a double forfeit and to include a response to Kageru Ikazuchi's question.

With the data centre migration, some people have experienced reduced ping. It is possible for some Australians near the Sydney interchange to have ~220 ping. Hence, I recommend that the current ~230 limit have an allowance region for those definitely in our time-zones (+8, +9, +10) that may have ping in the low 200s.
Open Suggestion: If the ping is a strict requirement, would the use of a VPN be acceptable to increase ping so that pilots that play in our timezone can join? It would be nice to facilitate pilots like ourselves who play during Oceanic primetime but may not have exactly >231 millisecond ping.
For reference, I am from North Queensland, Australia and have a 250-260ish ping. It used to be ~270-280 before the new data centre migration.

However, while the data centre change may benefit Australian players, please also note that my country's ISPs have NEVER had good latencies to European servers which is where the backend server @ 192.99.109.129 appears to be and explains my 30ms - 50ms increase in in-game ping. I believe a number of Asian players are experiencing the same thing.
For edge cases where average pings are slightly under the threshold, I will discuss this with FF333 & DLD and hope to have some kind of decision by this Friday's meeting.

It is a valid point, however, conquest does offer some interesting possibilities if you think about it other than a straight up meet in the centre brawl right from the start. As far as assault is concerned, whether to accept a tie for a particular match or not can be a strategic decision given the scoring system.
I will make a note of this though as we intend to evaluate this issue as well as a few others once this season is over.
update: Have been thinking about this a bit more and have some ideas to mitigate turtling that I want to run past FF333 and DLD. Will provide an update at the meeting or sooner.

Small Units: you may want to consider creating a joint team to represent multiple units. Technically, there is nothing in the rules against this. Feel free to advertise here if you're looking for someone to partner for this
Unaffiliated individuals - you may want to consider temporary membership in a Participating Unit to participate in the League.
Anyone who needs assistance in this respect, please contact the Organizers (highpingersleague at gmail.com)

possibility to drop class restrictions and only have tonnage limitation?
this would allow for more options when building your lance. the game can be more dynamic as it opens up different strategies to be implemented.
