If you preordered and paid for a car, but ended up getting only 3 wheels, you might be pretty pissed about it and want to tell people about this company that ripped you off. Now muitply that as many times as there are founders that feel they got duped and you know why there are a lot of pissed off former MWO fans. I'm not a founder, but really how hard is it to understand their anger?

But I didn't pay for a car. And a car is a considerably larger investment than a video game, I also wouldn't pay for a car with three wheels because it's functionally dead without 4. A Mech Arena in the alpha though? That was functionally usable if thin on content. I am a legendary founder. I do not feel robbed because I have easily had my two years worth of enjoyment. Do I wish I had more content and a better developed game? Yes. Do I feel I havn't had my money's worth? No.

Wanna get mad? Get mad at what's happening with Mech Warrior Tactics. Get mad at IGP not answering the FOUR tickets I've sent into them since the game went down. Getting mad because PGI are making a new game? Bit of an overreaction but justified when you feel you've been left by the wayside.

Don't make the mistake of feeling like the game hasn't met your expectations as being "Ripped off" though. You shouldn't have bought in as a founder if you're so easy to anger. MWT though? Yeah get mad at being ripped off there.

:/ This might be "just" some game to you.

But for me battletech is very near and dear, there is no "other" MW game out there, the community spent a very long time waiting between mw4 and this.

And quite honestly, i think you are missing the point / not actually reading the content of people not responding to John.

But it IS just a game. And I say that as someone who has been playing Battletech since I was around nine. I am 29 now. I have played and own every single MW game to date. I play MegaMek weekly with friends and I own every single Tech Readout to date. I love the battletech setting. I adore the franchise. Do not assume that because I am not feeling like my childhood is being spat on, does not mean I don't love it.

And perhaps yes, but I remember when Battletech was about robots and politics. Not angry forum posts.

Theres a saying about if they do it over there, theyll do it over here :P

There are **** victims who feel like its their fault. What you think doesnt really matter. Whether or not you think youve been ripped off.

They made a bad game, theyre moving on to another game. Its not the end of the world, but its still pretty hilarious for those of us who knew better and spent nothing. And I definitely understand why people who DID spend something, sometimes alot of something, feel pretty miffed at PGI for a wide variety of reasons.

Alot of people paid money expecting an evolution in the series. They didnt get it. Theyre upset. I dont see why thats surprising, or wrong.

Community service message -

If you hate something or someone and yet find yourself constantly hounding it or them just to tell them you hate them...

You're a stalker. Don't be a creepy stalker guy.

If you don't like MW:O or you don't trust PGI to make a new game you'll like I totally get that. I just don't agree. I have fun at MW:O when I play it. If they make a new game I like I'll play it too. If I don't like it.... I won't play it.

See how that works?

If you're not a terrorist you have nothing to worry about from the NSA.

AMIRITE?

I often wonder if Russ just lies to all of us, or if he is also deluding himself.

Here's whole thing about people not sh*tting up the place, just don't play it, etc.

They wanted the game they were told they would get. They invested into that idea. Buyer beware is a perfectly valid argument to this. However, you cannot blame these people for continuing to involve themselves in that product they invested in. They still want that product.

The valid question is why these people think that anything will make a difference, and for they most part they don't. But they're still upset about it. So they "sh*t up the place". And what folks like Pika need to do is just let them. Because that's all they really have left.

I think at this point the mods are well aware of this thread and are simply making a hit-list of undesireables and malcontents to ban/put on mod review. It's the only explanation for why it's still open.

I don't know what is, so I can't get excited. I'm a grown ass man, mystery boxes don't do it for me...I'm know what I like and even more so, I know what I don't like. So unless I know it's my thing, I could care less.

That would imply the people being targeted and silenced like their brothers before them actually care :)

I don't think you got the 3 wheels thing, The car was not supposed to come with 3 wheels, but all you got when you were promised a fully functional car is just 3 wheels... so are we on the same page here?

As for justification for feeling ripped off or not, while you think you got what you paid for, could you also consider some did not, at all? Let's be real here, at the beginning when asking for the founders to buy in they were promised a lot to come and real soon, not the soon™ we've become accustomed to. Tons of the things the said they were going to make still hasn't happened after almost 3 years. There's plenty of reason to feel cheated, and plenty of people do feel they were duped. So while you think MWO has done alright by you, some totally disagree and frankly I would feel cheated too had I been sold the image of what this game would become.

Now multiply that as many times as there are founders

Roughly 70,000 Founder packs were sold, earning PGI/IGP a cool $5 million USD.

I don't think I exaggerate when I say a majority of those Founder packs were sold on the strength of the vision presented for MWO; a MechWarrior game set in 3050, with stronger BattleTech roots than any previous title, keeping true to the lore; it would be built on the four Design Pillars of Mech Warfare, Role Warfare, Information Warfare, and Community Warfare.

Very, very little of that has come to pass. Every patch we get further and further from BattleTech - they just gave up on Clan Stars and Binaries for Kerensky's sake! - and the only Design Pillar we've seen so far is Mech Warfare.

You're damn right people are disappointed and angry. PGI promised one thing and delivered something else, something worse, something less.

And now we find out that after playing the "we're only a small studio with very few developers" card numerous times, they still had time and money to design and implement a whole other game. Not only did they take our money and not deliver, they apparently used that money to do something else.

So no, you'll have to forgive me if I'm not overly excited about the new game PGI is making.

Personally considering the current state of MWO, i find this utterly disrespectful!!!.
R.I.P MWO i guess, got your money from MWO, now give us more or **** off!.
I have no intentions of having anything to do with this new project.

It's because over time the numbers continue to grow, it's like an undead army, we feed on the white knights.

Can we get back to talking about what the new game is. Instead of Harping on PGI. Better yet you can make that thread yourself.
