I don't know about other people but I am going to grind the hell out of my founder's mechs for c-bills. Its not going to stop me from playing other mechs, but when I want a new one I'm going to use my founder's mech bonuses to get me there as fast as I can. Hell, for the 4 mechs alone without the other bonuses I would have bought legendary. Premium plus founder's mech = 75% or 50% more C-bills (not sure which) and that is going to be a big reason for players to use founder's mechs over normal mechs to unlock others and to build a bank for repairs. I don't see this a a problem since players will probably play their founder's mechs less when the have ground them out for a while to get thier favorite mechs (unless a founder's mech is their favorite).

Exactly what I was talking about. If they were gonna do the bonus they should have just made it a flat 25% (or some other/lower amount) on any mech.. or 25% on a mech of your choosing with a cooldown period of 2-4 weeks or something. Or simply a 25% on any mech of your choosing. Lots of better ways to have gone about it and still garner the same amount (or more) of founder's pack sales .

In a year or two when omnitech or clan mechs start coming out, people will start drifting away from their founders mechs if they haven't already.

At that time they'll probably release Founders Clan mech pack with perks or something similar to Founders deal.

The founders mechs will not provide any direct combat advantages over the opposition outside of giving more C-Bills.

Neither did the Type 59 or Lowe. You just have to know how to hit them. It was just lame that you can get a Tier 7 or 8 tank with no work, but a stupid driver/pilot is still stupid.

And this game will have MUCH more skill than mech wieght
In WoT a T1 can not hurt a T10
Here 90% of the Lights will be able to cause damage if not even kill a heavy
Even easier to kill a lone Assualt that is brave( stupid) and wants to run out alone and kill you all because he is bigger
Team work is important in WoT
Here it is VITIAL

This.

In WoT, you're going to plink off most anything four or five tiers above you, let alone nine. If you're unlucky enough to get a match in a T3 light with T7's or T8's, you might as well just charge forward and find a rock to hide behind to see if you can give a few artillery spots before you get one shotted. (note: This is not a post against one shotting, I support that mechanic)

In BT/MW it is a very different story. With the exception of a couple of missions that required large amounts of damage in a short period, ie dropships, it was possible to do the singleplayer in MW4 with a single Cougar played well. Similarly an Urbie UM-R60L, an existent variation of about the cheapest light mech around in 3049, can mess up most mediums with a single shot from it's AC/20 and give an Atlas a serious limp.

You guys planning this "farm mech" and "regular mech" wouldn't you rather be playing the mech you actually want to be playing... when you are playing? You realize the farm mech vs regular mech idea basically admits that you are only playing said mech for the bonus, not because you want to for the mech itself... which is basically my whole argument.. it's a lame mechanic and not fun and should be avoided

Considering I have them I think they need to continue forever. But I think you are underestimating people getting bored. I may use them for farming but there are plenty mechs I want to have. Centurions, Awesomes, Trebuches, Commandos....So many I want to use.

Don't forget, the Legendary Founders get the four mechs (and maybe more importantly, the mech slots)... So, however many mech bays we are allowed at launch +4 of the Founders Mechs...

So, say we get 4 regular slots, plus the 4 Legendary Founders Mechs... That will be 8 Mechs we can fight with before we have to repair one.

Most of the mechs on the founders list, i dont feel the need to pay for. THats why the Elite is perfect for me.. i just want one of those mechs, and with the double xp and cbills ill save for somthing i want like a Cataphract or Cicada. But with my Elite purchase i will be choosing the Jenner (maybe Catapult 8^] ).

...wait what are we talking about again??

I'd just play whatever mech I want to play at the time and that's it !

I'll have the 50% c-bills from the premium account already, 25% is good as well but my priority is always fun over performance. Unless I'm short on cash for THE mech I want (Marauder !!!), but even then, I'm not a farmer, I get bored with it easily...

I bought the Founders pack for a few reasons.

1) To financially support a game I really am looking forward to playing

2) So I have the extra C-Bill earning capability to use if I ever find myself cash poor in game

3) Guaranteed early access, baby!

This!

I am sure there will be other mechs I want to run, and I am sure most founders will run other mechs as well. Running the same mech forever will get boring so you probably have no need to worry about only seeing founder mechs running through the maps.

I'm guessing they'll do what WoT does (and LoL kind of as well) where you're first win with a chassis in a 24 period gets you a bonus. So people will prob log on and cycle through each of their mechs to get the first win bonus.

To me the Founder C-bill bonus and other bonuses play out like this.. Rich Kid syndrome. Maybe Daddy couldn't stop me from enlisting or going off to fight or maybe it was expected to serve. Since daddy can't stop me, he is damn well going to do everything to make sure I make it back. C-Bill's, Best Mech he can buy, Better parts, etc etc etc...I mean to you really think anyone of the noble class is not going to help out how much they can. Picture Prince Victor's main mech as a Flea, a Army supplied Flea..

Same, and the fact that the Founder mechs have been stated as being in addition to your basic 4 slots, so I'd not need to use one of them just to try out the Cicada or Jenner, I've got them already... allowing me to get other mechs as I want (I'm thinking Commando might be fun).

Of course, if a Warhammer or Marauder come along, then I'm getting one of them too... mainly as a "I own one" kinda thing. :)

Honestly I'm less concerned about the founder 'Mechs' XP and C-Bill bonuses than I am the premium account 50% bonuses. That seems just a bit much to me. I could understand if it was a 1 time fee for x number of matches, but even then 50% seems pretty high to me.

I think the permanent c-bill bonus is going to make people want to play their founders mech(s) more than they would normally (or more than they even want to) purely because a lot of people will be looking to maximize their currency gained/time invested ratio. This is partly why I didn't buy a founder's pack, I don't want to feel like it would be more beneficial to be playing a founder's mech rather than a mech of similar tonnage/loadout to "max" my gains. Anyone else consider this? And I know there's gonna be people that are gonna say something stupid like "well, if you let it make you want to do that, its your fault!! ahurp". It's human nature to min/max everything especially if you're "farming" for something else specifically, and it's gonna happen and be quite widespread, I'm sure of it.

Yeah wouldnt want to incetivize people to buy the founders packages, noooooo

Not really - they've got to encourage people to spend money to keep them going... and being able to afford that fancy mech in 2/3 of the time is a good incentive to spend - likewise with XP, 2 friends playing the same game would probably be competing with each other.
