Hey, man, hate the game, not the player.

"It's just part of the game there's no problem
Never mind that the game is the problem
It's just part of the game there's no problem
Better watch what you say - there's no problem here..."

Last few days have actually been kind of... what's the word... hopeful? For the future? We have devs talking all over the place, town halls, twitter, forums, actually answering questions, actually laying out plans, quickly responding to common questions or concerns that are being brought up...

Be mad at what happened and make your comments or demands, but "hating the people in charge" helps nobody.

Very well said. Do not forget the past, but move forward with hope.

Or heck don't even hope or whatever; just don't be a jerk to the devs. They are people. Even if they did lie and cheat and steal, we have no real proof of that, and pointing and yelling and throwing cabbage at them just won't help.

Discuss the facts. Be mad. But aim that at the project, the company, the politics or economic decisions behind that. "We hate Russ / Paul / Bryan" just isn't going to help. I said the same during #SaveMWO - the movement was doomed because it was full of hate and spite instead of facts and solutions.

My dream would be to put transverse on hold, piledrive an AWESOME community warfare for mechwarrior over the next year.
Then revive the transverse project as a battletech space trader tie in to work alongside the community warfare occuring in MWO ;)
You could even ride that out without any combat for a while, just plain trading.

I was unable to read absolutely everything, here... TL:DR, but I'm looking forward to catching up. My sons and I have been out of the loop because we were moving to Everett, WA, and I'm attempting to get caught up. However, I didn't catch what AUTE is, I missed the Town Hall meeting, but have found the three hours of audio on youtube and intend to listen to it beginning tomorrow morning.

I am truly hoping and praying that this transition away from IGP is a good thing. Several of my MechWarrior's have already expressed mis-givings, that there is no plan after Community Warfare is completed, etc., and these are usually my more positive folks, so I'm apprehensive, at best.

Anyway, if I get the opportunity, I'll try to read more of this thread, later, but I make no guarantees, especially with the fact my head is the size of a basketball, right now... I'm in pain, and I may have to beg off all this until tomorrow.

I look forward, however, to any replies.

KW ... first, take care of yourself ...second, you really should listen to the town hall, it has been a pretty good couple of weeks for PGI and the community.

Ikazuchi-san, I will certainly do that. I forgot I need to get my vehicle registered in-state here, first. Apparently, there's a thirty-day time-limit, and I'm on day 19. I have the money, I'll have the time, so it would behoove me to get 'er done. <S>

So I think that it is pretty apparent that there has been a shift in not only progress but the over all quality of things since this has happened. Recently I was told of the change in management by others within my guild and they beckoned me to return to game in order to give it a shot. I have not played in over a year and can say without a doubt that I did not leave the game on happy terms when I left. Since returning I can honostly say that things look to be headed in the right direction. The devs are displaying great communication and listening to the community, Community Warfare has a roadmap to release, and the game seems to be more balanced and fun to play. I know that as an individual my opinion probably doesnt matter much, but I am impressed with the turn around, and appreciate PGI now taking things in what appears to be a good direction. If PGI keeps up this pace then my wallet will be back open and I will be throwing money at the game again before to long.

I had thought this game was doomed two months ago, and a lot of the negativity of other players was starting to wear on me. I thought for sure there was no way PGI could mend its relationship with the player base.

It looks like MWO is already making a great turnaround now and I can honestly say the game feels a lots more positive than it did two months ago. No amount of mechs, maps, bug fixes, or balance tweaking could have done that. Thank you for taking steps to make right what was wrong.
