For me the de-syncs are actually more often now, but shorter in length but as a whole they are worse than before because they are more frequent, but shorter in duration. I get a desync on every map no matter what.

My ping is always below 100ms
I use ATT Uverse
I am located in Texas USA

The game is on the verge of being unplayable because they always happen at the worst time it seems.

Whiskey
Tango
Foxtrot

peace out.

Wait times are longer.
Desync still happening, not as often.
Ping, pretty close to what it was months back.

Yes it IS getting worce.

Before you would de-sync then catchup, now you de-sync and it dose not recover.

Really is a game breaking problem!

===

Just totally de-synced never recovered Had to quit the match and bang there is my mech sitting waiting for me.. ffs !

been playing around with a latency fix program for designed for wow but it adjusts the packets sent between client machine and game server and seems to be working for hit detection and i've been experiencing less desync but that might be the network server ppl at work

I have been fortunate and only experienced 2 short desyncs since Fridays patch. Which is an improvement for me compared to just before the server changes when it was a fairly regular occurrence.

Played for a number of hours between Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Desyncs have gotten worse for me too. They are happening with greater frequency and for longer periods of time. Last night, I had an epic-long desync that lasted for about a full minute. It caught me in the canyon by the Forest Colony Cave, right in the middle of Red Team's big push as my team rallied to beat them back. It affected a couple other pilots in my Unit, preventing us from accurately firing and repeatedly faceplanting us into the rock wall. It got so bad that we just had to stand still and wait with fingers crossed, hoping we wouldn't be dead when it ended. Miraculously, the match ended in a ROFLSTOMP for our team - I suppose Red Team must have been as badly affected or worse by the desync.

That is by far, the worst one I've experienced to date. Like I said though, they are increasing in number and strength. Can we get an update on PGI's efforts to fix this?

The game has become way worse for me lag & Desyncs are killing the fun game play I had 1 up 10 down on my isp on the old server and it ran smooth as glass except for the hit detection. Now I have 2 up and 20 down and its like 10x worse game play and my ping went from 130 to 60.The new servers are just plain garbage.

Its so bad I will be shooting a mech with full weapons and no damage and next thing I know my mech is stripped and dead in between moon walking. It was happening only a few times every 10 battles or so now its every battle on every map.

I use to have massive desync issues with the latest patch after the data center move (but strangely not when the data center moved) as well.

However, try to clear/flush your DNS on your computer. It was suggested for me to do by someone on MW:O when I was in a lance, and it really worked for me. I now have very little/no desync at the moment.

Suggest you give it a try and see if it works. If it does, post back here with your success (so other people know).

Had three de-syncs in a row last night so bad I had to exit and try to re-join each time. Once the re-join actually failed. Had two other matches where I was warping around the map uncontrollably for a while. I only played about 10 matches last night, so 50% of them were de-synced and three so bad I had to re-log to fix it.

Thanks, I will give this a try. Your link doesn't work, but I get the idea. Flush the DNS cache. Not a bad idea since MWO servers were all relocated recently. Could very well be part of the problem.

I've had less Desyncs since the patch (1 vs 4 the 2 weeks prior), but I've had less time to test it out given we only have had since Friday.

Well its been 6 games and its working don't know for how long but thanks for the info on clearing the DNS cache.
I would ask does not the game server refresh your DNS cache automatically when you connect? it would be a huge ++++ to everyone if this processes was done automatically by the game server?

For me (Europe, Germany) the Desync issues have improved significantly after the last patch !
Before the patch I had 1 match out of 3 with desync problems. Now i can play 20 without issues.

Thanks PGI, that was a huge step forward !

DNS resolves hostnames to IP addresses, and a DNS cache speeds up this resolution by keeping a local copy of that information. I can see how clearing this cache might help initial connectivity issues. However, I am really curious to understand how clearing a DNS cache is expected to improve desync/rubber banding issues in the midst of a game where client/server sockets have already been established?

If you're using a bad route, it is more likely to act up.

Same ping as always 40-43 ping. Midwest. Using TW. Only 2 desync in the past 2 days. I am experiencing lag with audio on start up voice message from Betty and some lag from restarting after a over heating.

Desync is much better in my experience.

Are you suggesting that a -locally- cached DNS record (L7) has anything to do with which IP route (L3) the clients packets take to get to the server?
