they stated previously the clans would get no battlemechs only omnis, so that leaves out the kodiak. however I hope they say **** it and do it anyway.

Well russ does mention the kodiak. However says something about why it and some others are not in yet, i think the restarted timeline or something ?

I forget exactly what he said now tho, think it was in Part 1 of the townhall meeting or the last one that doesnt say its part 3.

Pretty sure the kodiak will eventually show up tho by what he was saying, just a matter of when. ( unless the no battlemechs is 100% and not just timeline / time related, think i remmeber something about the hunch IIC and no battlemechs comment ?? meh....)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the a-pods weigh .5 tons each and take up all the leg crit slots right? If so they could just slap a DHS in each leg instead. Sure it wouldn't be 'pure stock', but it wouldn't break anything... and I want a Hellbringer :c

No, cause TT purists will throw a fit. Not to mention the fact PGI is trying it's darnest to not to change any available crit or weight of stock mechs.

Also, it woulda been just fine to release mechs with MASC such as the Flea, Firemoth, and Executioner, and give the equipment no function--like the old Command Console--and fix it later, but no. So stupid.

They will have to put out Clan Battlemechs eventually because there aren't enough Clan Omnimechs in the time line to keep up with all the IS Mechs.

For the Medium I would rather see the Ice Ferret over the Dragonfly. Better looking and nicer payload.

No MASC!

Moving on, I'm betting its

Light - Mist Lynx (Koshi)
Medium - Viper (Dragonfly)
Heavy - Hellbringer (Loki)
Assault - Gargoyle (Man O' War)

Mad Dog (Vulture) being the exclusive fifth design, though I suppose the Loki could be this and the Vulture is the pack one.

This for sure!

Why not just have the A-Pods and say "We will implement their functionality in the future" just like they did with Command Comp. Sure some people would cry foul about a stock variant having 1 ton devoted to something that does not work, but PGI could use it as a means to tease any plans to implement support units(Infantry,Vehicles,etc.).

Vulture with the current implementation of the beam weapon visuals will look silly... unless all pulse lasers go to longer barrels....

For me, first and foremost the Hellbringer, even without ECM. And then a Fire Moth or anything simply fast.

Tell yourself whatever ya need to, man. Buy more mechs if that's your thing.

Mmmhmm..... I'm not dropping any more money into this game at this point. Too many unanswered questions and broken promises. I'm glad I stopped when I did after the Phoenix pack.

Not to mention now they have a "new game" they're working on, and their development team is shrinking for MWO (according to numbers provided just recently as to how many they have on team versus what was announced a while back).

lol at the Command Console. So put something into the game and then wait like two more years for them to fix it?

Crap man, they can't even fix the existing Skill Trees (i.e. "Convergence" skill lmao)

Copy pasta from the Clan subsection:

Still have plenty of mechs from the first wave to cover. As was said, Hellbringer, Mad Dog, Gargoyle, Mist Lynx, and Ice Ferret are all fair game.

Benefit of Mad Dog: 6M configuration is possible.
Benefit of Hellbringer: Provides a second ECM capable mech for the Clans and is the first Heavy mech with ECM.
Benefits of Mist Lynx: Fast-ish light mech option, and C config is ECM capable.

If they expand it to the second wave Clan mechs, you can include: Arctic Cheetah, Ebon Jaguar, Huntsman, and... actually, not sure what second wave assault mech would work, considering the Supernova is second line non-omni. o_0

Benefit of Arctic Cheetah: Best light mech in the game, bar none, with ECM, JJ, and 4E2M in its prime configuration.
Benefit of Huntsman: Functional hybrid of the Nova and Stormcrow, with slightly more weapon space than the Stormcrow but the slower speed and added jump jets of the Nova, with a lot more hardpoint options than either (multiple AC possible).
Benefit of the Ebon Jaguar: Guns. So many guns.

Also, I would not worry about A-Pods. IIRC the Blackjack and the Yen-Lo had them, as well, and PGI replaced those with armor. Or heat sinks. Or ammo. Not sure which, but in either case they flat out replaced them. In the case of the Hellbringer, that is just two tons of additional armor they can slap onto the thing, on a mech that is around 5 tons under-armored to start with.

A 55 Ton Shadowhawk also gives up survivability due to an IS XL Engine. Reaches roughly the same speed as the Gargoyle but has significantly less Armor.
You also have to consider Clan tech in there and it's weight savings. CUAC20/CLB20 + 6 ERMLs is actually a decent brawler.
Theres also nothing stopping them from inflating its hardpoints a little.

An 80 ton assault mech that doesn't drastically out-damage a medium is an embarrassment. The Garg might be able to go fast, but that's really all it can do. It would just be a fat mobile meatshield that gets drastically out-damaged by lighter mechs, even from the Inner Sphere side of the spectrum. An XL400 80 tonner is a waste in the BT construction system.

So far they've avoided hardpoint inflation on all Clan variants for whatever reason, including the rather underprivileged Summoner and Adder. Changing that tradition seems unlikely (albeit not impossible) at this point.

UAC20 + 6 ERML...you won't even have enough tonnage to make real use of it. You'd get only 2 tons of ammo for starters, when roughly 4 tons is recommended. And CUACs in general aren't that great, especially the larger models due to their crazy long burst length. And you'd suffer severe heat issues. And you don't even have the hardpoints to build it in the first place. 20 tons is simply too little firepower for a mech of that size, especially if it can't boat the snot out of tonnage-efficient lasers like the Nova can.

well, if the Gargoyle is the only assault they can come up with, might as well give the charger to the IS, so will have competing scout 80 tonners on the field :)

Lastly, the team behind making and pushing out 'Mechs is most likely not the same team of Devs who build gameplay features and bug fixes.

They'd likely be exactly the same folks who create assets for maps.

I believe Russ specifically mentioned on the Town Hall stream that we would NOT get the Kodiak, Shadow Cat, or IIC mechs.

What ever the 5th exclusive mech is, I think founders should get it for free, no questions asked.

Why can't PGI solve this MASC issue until today?

Cmon, who cares about Gargoyle? Gimme Executioner.

As already stated they have pushed the limits of the engine in some places....not to mention we have mechs going over 150 kph that should never have been able to. I dont think you want a 210 kph Flea rubberbanding all over the place to the point you can hardly see him....the QQ and flames would be seen from my house if that went through.

How do you know this? How do you know anything? You work for PGI? You been there? Know a single employee other then the same we know here? Pleas enlighten me on the topic since you seem to know what is going at PGI more so then even Russ?

Oh King Roland please tell us what the next step of CW will look like since you are omniscient! Any visions of the new map? Or the new Clan mechs?

We don't need the negativity towards the game, developers or the Community in general and its rather immature.
