You'll only be able to pilot your Faction mechs in CW, but that won't stop you from piloting whatever you want in the normal Solo or Group Queue. At least, that's what I've been told.

Going to run a loadout similar to my Jester... 4 ML, 2 LPL... yea!
The other Griffins are great mechs too btw. The 1N is a blast to play and having all its weapons on one-side can be annoying but it also means you get a whole left side to absorb damage.

I'm holding out hope that we'll be able to choose both a house and a clan to fight for, depending on the mech we launch in. Otherwise, I imagine I won't be the only one angry about wasting hundreds of dollars on mechs I no longer have any interest in playing.

There is one thing for PGI to consider... The IS captured a lot of clan 'mechs, providing us a perfectly lore based explanation for being able to use clan 'mechs even as an IS faction. I for one refused to use my clan 'mechs when they first unlocked until I took down a few clan 'mechs myself. In the first match I took down a Kitfox and Summoner in my Catapult K-2. Maybe PGI can implement some kind of unlocking feature like this.
The same holds true for the clans capturing IS 'mechs, but let's be honest... they didn't really use them so much as retrofitted them into new variants or completely new 'mechs.

No, so far, they have recently stated that in CW you will be fighting for your profile faction. So if you are Jade Falcon, you will fight for Jade Falcon, and won't have an IS faction.
CW is gonna be straight up Clans vs. IS (sadly 12 v 12, as there is no way on earth to balance clan with IS, and still make 10 v 12 possible).
Solo and group queue, you can drop in whatever mech you want. CW, only your faction mechs (meaning IS can use IS mechs, and clans can use clan mechs). At least for the foreseeable future. I mean, after 3053 mix tech was becoming a thing, and so we might be able to have all mechs available for everyone.

You've piled on a bunch of stats, but there's no fluff to go along side this thing?

Drop 2 JJs to make it a little more heat efficient if you'd like but this thing is quite rude just as it is.
