With everybody mentioning "The Island" so often, I'm having flashbacks to Lost's ending. :D

... Then I remember that JJ Abrams is directing the new Star Wars movie too. And all of this fangirl rage I'm feeling is being redirected towards PGI. Not good for you, PGI - I'm still bitter over Phantom Menace.

Oh of course not, I just want to see how many more fires they will be lighting under their ass.

I got my popcorn, sitting on the couch, snuggled up with my wife as we watch the fire burn.

The only time I've ever seen an internet community this united in a single opinion anywhere on the internet it was to condemn the Mass Effect 3 ending, and I don't think anybody here could've missed that ***********.

Pretty sure at this point that smallpox would have a better approval rating than PGI.

Ancestral victims of smallpox would disagree methinks. And imho the ME3 ending wasn't too bad, regardless of what other people say. It was the developer's vision, and creative control is theirs alone by all rights. Sure it might have been half-assed but you got three different endings! THREE!

Anyways perhaps it's time to look at other franchises for stompy robot mechsims. Japan's hiding a 50v50 Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam Online *drool*) brawlfest away from the rest of the world, but imagine if there was a first person Gundam mechsim in a similar vein to MWO, with chromehounds/acV style faction warfare on land and in space would be a dream come true.

Worth the watch while we're waiting for the PGI response.

While I posted with that consideration in mind, we also have a lot of anti-vaxxers nowadays too. Tie those in with the misanthropes and the doomsday preppers, and you've got 5% of the population.

Fixed :P

Also, as I posted earlier in the thread, page 13 or 14, part of the Mass Effect 3 ending blowup, perhaps the most inflammatory and rage-inducing part, was the developers lack to acknowledge that people were even upset with it, when there's a poll with tens of thousands of responses with literally 98% of people saying that they were upset with it. Then they basically attacked the fanbase as being trolls rather than admit that somebody might have a reason tobe angry. I could, and did, get over a ****** ending, but I'm still bitter about practically everybody at Bioware with a voice being unable to handle it and attacking the very dedicated fanbase. Sort of like MWO. Hmmmmmm...

All i want to say is that MWO is looking more and more like a scam with every passing day.

Blew the dust off this account to say that the founders tag next to this post marks me as a member of the ranks of the dumbest people on the planet. I remember enjoying the beta and being so stoked for when community warfare would be in place way, way back in the heady days of late 2012. There really was something good there, something worth playing, a nugget that if properly worked and polished could have been great, but sadly we're standing here now with an inferior product and a developer that obviously has had no respect for it's customers for some time. Oh well, I suppose I can give MechWarrior 4: Mercs another spin for the umpteenth time and wait for the license to eventually fall into better hands.

I think #SavePGI will have as much success as #SaveMWO at this point.

Niko, I'm going to address you personally, and not as a name-shame bit, but as a rep of your company. (unless you've been expended, in which case, this is to your successor) Please understand that we did actually start as "nice" as we could. We even told Garth and Russ that trolling customers (guys handing you money... I want my $30 for my wife's Animouse03 account back...) was bad idea. I'm only kidding. You can keep the $30. I did meet more people here than at a singles site, and I guess that counts for something?

To be quite honest, I'm willing to bet that if PGI tried, actually tried to make nice with the community, that this entire debacle can be turned around. Yes PGI, we love the IP of MechWarrior/Battletech THAT MUCH!

I want to throw in my Legendary Founder badge and Phoenix Overlord whatever onto the pile as well, saying that this ridiculous and draconian PR disaster is getting in the way of me enjoying blowing up giant mechs with lasers. Do you realize how HARD it is to interfere with a man's enjoyment of blowing up giant mechs with lasers? That's like messing with a man's SOUL.

Stop messing with my enjoyment of giant mechs and lasers.

When did it never!? I have MWO to thank for never trusting any god damn founders pre-order tripe that hits the market. I have MWO to thank for cynically going over future vidya gaem purchases. I have MWO to thank for teaching me that it's not all about the game, but the profits that drive it. I have MWO to thank for being extremely reluctant to pick up a goddamn PS4 despite Bungie+PS4.

The only games I can truly enjoy now are ... well the above is mostly bullcrap because I picked up Planetary Annihilation. But I have MWO to thank for helping me tighten my wallet and pursue other hobbies.

#TryVegemite it has vitamins!

Catchable Elk, PGI has always scammed people, throughout their tenure as PGI and previously as Jarhead. MW:O just took it a step further when Russ told people to their faces last December that they'd intentionally lied about CW because they never had any intention of working on it because the license for the IP was up in 2015 and why do major work when the mechs they make is enough for the wallet whales? But hey, he went on to add, good news! They got the license to '18, possibly '20! <queue Russ being mystified as to the lack of applause and drowning chorus of hate>

I came back from over a year of inactivity just to post in this thread and agree with the people bashing PGI due to their astounding incompetence on every level, starting with basic game design and ending with PR.

And yes, I completely agree with some previous poster who said: "This is the closest thing to community warfare that we will ever get".

Thronde, I would disagree, and post a link to the "I can change!" song sung by Saddam Hussien in the South Park movie but the fake toy penis and nudity in it might upset PGI.

Since, you know, they don't want any size comparisons made here.

Touche. Besides, we all know it'd be outright penis envy.
