It isn't really a stand though. Half the posts will disappear, some bans will be served, and half the founders will end up on the post approval thing.
Hopefully we'll get an admission of guilt and finally a move to using the games' forums before reddit or twitter, but that's it. Nothing we haven't seen before.
Yeah, we had our shot at making things better a long time ago and it was made quite clear that Paul's Great Ideas weren't going to be diluted by petty things like user feedback or simple math. Now we're just here to bask in the schadenfreude since we're incredibly bitter about waiting ten years for someone to pick up the BattleTech IP and then watching it get run into the ground, and making fools of themselves is the only thing PGI can do to entertain us anymore.

I agree with you, but I think we're on an island, buddy. I just hope the message gets across that this is ridiculous and we, the paying customers, are legitimately upset.

Damn gooooooooons!
I'm outing myself for this, but I posted in the thread already so my head's on the chopping block alongside all the other brave founders who posted here.
Hi, my name is PoptartsNinja and I'm a goon!
I'm a goon who has had short stories published with Catalyst, who got so excited for MWO that I wrote lengthy fluff pieces for The Mittani in spite of having no connection at all with EVE online, and who has had an active "Let's Play: BattleTech" thread on the SA forums for nearly four years. Fanart created for my thread served as a springboard that allowed one other goon to become an artist for official BattleTech TROs. I love BattleTech, it's a fantastic universe. I don't have a Reddit account, so I take great pride in knowing that I am responsible for the "takeover" of r/mwo.
Goons may ruin everything but we didn't ruin this. I'm just kicking back on my island to watch.

Hi All! Love this reunion! Let us take a moment of silence to remember those that can not be with us today.
............
And a moment of silence for one of our fellow founders that dared to speak out and criticize PGI early in development only to get perma banned himself.
Protection
............
P.S.
Roadbeer, Sandpit, Inertiaman, Werewolf, ButtMonkey, Mister Blastman, Chronojam, JokerVictor (All Founders) Say "Hi" from their permaban exiles.
The "unseen" founders are still here and kicking!

Well you see he got fired from IGP for some reason but PGI thought he did a fantastic job over there and fired Garth to hire Niko.
Or something.
EDIT: Oh sweet my dumb Overlord badge is showing up now.

Confirming I gave PGI $120 so I could begin ruining their game from the word go.
Buying Beta access turned out to be a pretty good idea since that was when the game was actually fun.

I keep seeing them referencing a take over. Me and my friend from goonfleet registered the subreddit the DAY MWO was announced. There was no takeover, we appointed a mod staff because we didn't want to actually run it, and we removed the mod staff when they were stifling dissenting opinions. I was playing MWO with Word of Lowtax since day one, and I got bored when they stopped adding anything new to the game.
This is a simple case of reaping what you sow. A lot of us held out hope that MWO would do justice to Battletech and it almost did. The gameplay isn't bad, but announcing another game and trying to exercise draconian control on your message when all you've done is upset a large amount of your customers is not going to work for you. Unfortunately you broke the clearly stated rules of another site, you don't get to control what people say about your game or your company on the internet.
