Now that I have released this info I fully expect the lock and perma ban coming my way.

Seriously, you should go there and hang out. You'll find the clutch of other people who care. Everyone who does care is already on Reddit. In general here it's good news; MW:O should spend less time on Reddit and more time here.
Try to keep up.

Pretty sure this is old news by now. Go look in OffTopic, where no one cares what happens.

I mean we aren't pleased...but we care, otherwise we wouldn't be freaking out about it.

That you have an opinion on it isn't getting mocked. You'll notice that while I'm a forumwhore of the first caliber and post all over the place, huge long rambling walls of text, I haven't posted there.
Do you know why?
That's their thing. I may not agree, I may quietly believe that overall the game is better with those people not in it and their assumption that 'no fan is a bigger fan than me! You can tell because all I ever do is talk **** when I don't get my way, except when I use my belt to beat my dog while screaming "I DO THIS BECAUSE PGI MAKES ME DO IT. PGI, WHY DO YOU MAKE ME BEAT MY DOG?!? JUST DO WHAT I WANT AND THEN I WON'T BEAT MY DOG?!?'.... meh, glad they're gone. Happy even. People who are that emotionally fragile and self-important are not good company in an online game. Still though I don't go to their thread and **** all over their discussion of what they care about... because that would make me a total and complete *******.
So why are you here? What do you want from us, a pat on the back? Let's in fact get down to this -
Why are you even worth the effort to ban?
What you're really missing is that for a lot of us the heavy moderation has been a godsend. I'm all for dissenting opinions. Go look over the PGI feedback threads you'll see me sharing my dissent on a lot of things. What I don't do is dissent, whine, scream and clutter everything up so that no other voice can be heard. That is what has always made public discourse useless on the forums.
If your dissent is 'I don't like X, here's why, here's my solution' you don't get banned. I never have and I post that constantly. CONSTANTLY. I've argued *both sides* of the Clans are OP argument based on my changing experiences. Same with Clan weapons. I've complained, dramatically, about how PGI handled the release of Clan mechs (6 months was effectively P2W and made balancing them for half a year nearly impossible. Still say it was a bad idea).
I've never been banned though because I do so respectfully - not even respectfully of PGI but of my fellow forum-goers. I'm a guest in PGIs house here and act accordingly. people who don't act like that get thrown out -
which is good. Why should I even bother to act like a mature, responsible adult if someone else can scream like a starving toddler, disrupt every attempt to engage in useful discourse and otherwise be a twit and a troll and is still around?
Ban hammer, swing hard and frequent. Nothing of value was lost. There's tons of dissent here in every single thread - it's just intelligent, worthwhile (more or less) and has at least a fleck of value. Just because someone has an opinion doesn't mean that opinion is worthwhile.

Well said! I took a pop into that "other thread" and the level of toxicity and hate was intense to say the least.
There's a lot I dislike about the way PGI handles things from time to time, but like Mischief pointed out, I don't need to go spread as much hate and discontent as I possibly can, trying to rally people to some worthless and meaningless cause that only exists in your own reality.
I'll sure as heck put my 2 cents in when I think something is jacked up, but I sure as heck won't do it in a manner that's disruptive to the people here that are actually enjoying the discussions (sometimes heated discussions) that go on here.

Good post. Really the relevant one.
Perhaps PGI had finally reached the last straw with the openly hostile attempts to sabotage them? Not saying they don't deserve a buttload of criticism, or I really like mass bannings, but at the same time, some people were little more than Forum Anarchists wanting to see things burn, and making this place miserable for the rest of the people who dare to actually enjoy the game, warts and all.
But you are entitled to be upset and feel the way you do. I can respect that, as long as you can respect the fact the many folks, in fact probably the majority don't see things the same way.
