I think they should spend the first part of 2015 polishing the game and improving the tutorial and new player system. Finally get that UI2.0 adjustments in.

The hinted at PvE\Single Player mode right out the gate and a much faster turn around on considerably larger maps. A stronger link between mech weight classes forcing some co-operation could be nice too. At the moment everything seems to be on the little old scouts.
I don't think we need many new 'Mechs beyond a few fan faves. (Give me an Urby already!)

We all know the game will need more than enough of these to fill their entire development year.
Or what, are we supposed to ask for pony-Mechs to ride into battle for MC? That seems more likely to be added.

The single player co-op idea has my curiosity peaked and well as development of new map assets, and bigger maps.
The first few months should really be focused on polishing the existing game after CW though. There's a ton of work that needs to be done ranging from fixes to map geometry and mech hit boxes to Hit Reg / HSR to getting UI 2.0 cleaned up. The list is pretty large.

They could make it in the interim that MASC provides a mech a higher sustained speed, instead of a higher intermittent, boost of speed.
They could take the average speed of a mech using MASC over the long term, taking into consideration the contribution of MASC failures so that we get some reasonable representation of the increase in speed MASC would equate to as a sustained speed.
Or maybe we could temporarily make it a damage modifier...activating MASC wouldn't make a mech faster while in use, it would be a buff making the mech take less damage for the activation duration...but, there would be a chance for a larger debuff when over used, so that for a fixed duration of time, any damaged received would be 1.5x-2x that of the normal buff.
Keep in mind, either one of these would be a temporary feature as they work to find a better solution.

There is no after. With the first iteration of stage two cw there must be at least half a year of tweaking and changing/adDing content to cw or it will miserably fail. I expect a playable and enjoyable community warfare around july 2015.

But that said, I had hopes in the beginning (prior to Founders) that MWO was actually going to shape into an MMO. As in things you can do at the player model level. Be able to actually walk around your hangar, look at your mechs from a player model perspective, use diagnostic terminals, shuttle over to the next company of mechs (a little suspension of disbelief). Or make it easier and access your inventory of mechs from that terminal, and a lift would then move mechs in and out of your bay. Maybe something similar for your spare parts. Add some tech NPCs, maybe share the hangar with other people, etc. You could "rent" differing levels of hangars with MC, or your unit could offer one of theirs (where you could interact with other players of your unit). Would have been really cool to combine lobbies, the forums, team chat, etc., with a location within the MWO universe, like various channels being available only through certain locations (HPG style) and then some local social channels. The stuff off in K-town, etc., could then be pushed to the periphery and, with a player being tied to a location, the folks that frequent those places would basically be pirates (they already are). Maybe tie all of this into the contract system, or maybe some side quest stuff like bounties on other players? What would you find at Kooken's Pleasure Pit? Would you get stuck in a bad situation with some low-life crime lord on Dustball? Think of how many revenue streams that could open up, PGI...all the vanity crap...
Anyway, glad to share my wet dream with you.

A MAJOR optimisation of the game.
There is no point in doing anyhing untill the game is playable and stable across the board.
How many people do YOU know that have had the option of upgrade their ENTIRE PC or find another game... Most I know just found another playable game, because most cant afford to upgrade. Let alone give money to MWO
Why is the game so CPU dependant? How come changing the graphics options/resolution does nothing to the FPS!?
Are we still using the outdated Cryengine model 1.4 or something?? Version 3.6.6 of the Cryengine has been released on STEAM why not give that a try
I for one would wait for an entire engine overhaul, hell I'd even give you $$ towards it.

MWO is already far form TT, so I will "understand" if a mwo-masc won't double speed (what about mwo-ecm? or indirect-fire? etc.)
1) a toggle masc, clicking a button, giving at least 10% of speed burst.
2) an equipment giving at least 10% more speed.
3) "............" fill yourself.
The point is: we cannot waive all masc mechs because PGi "doesn't have idea about masc should be".
No flea? No shadowcat? No dasher? no firemouth? No Viper? No executioner? etc.....
Too bad.
Edit: U.I 3.0..... or give us back U.I 1.0

Different flavors of the same old PvP deathmatching without any real mission goals is pretty meh.
I crave for missions more Battletech like, where battletechnology, salvaging Tech and Tasks to gather/defend Ressources are regarded higher than destroying mechs.
Maybe some coop PvE ?
Implementation of battlevalues and tonnage limits on planetary assaults ?
Get bv and role slots into matchmaker rather than ELO and 4x3 ?
As Russ said you can whatch matchmaker functioning greatly on their monitors.
Thats fine, they created a beautyfull piece of software, but that doesn't do away with the fact ELO was created to balance one on one situations or even geared Teams where load outs and techlevels don't matter.
The matchmaker isn't broken, its a beautyfull piece of technology.
Its just the completely wrong tool for the job.
