Had yesterday 2 times a dev in my team and today once where I got him.

If a similar event is run in the future, I think there should be at least one dev assigned to do drops at all or most hours of the day...we can't schedule group events based on looking through this thread waiting for a dev to post that they've just started dropping.

That way we don't have to all scramble during one weekend to
A: play constantly to find a dev
B: pressures all the devs into playing extreme hours
Just have the event semi-regularly so everybody gets a chance at some point.
(and do the protect a dev bonus!)

I've dropped solo around 30 times and I haven't seen any dev either on my team or in the opposing force. Also, I imagine that if I ever found one, the odds of killing it would be very slim.
But that level of chance/difficulty is understandable from the minds that created the 12 kill achievement (7 kills are the perfect ceiling) or the 10.000 headshot one (50 would be already asking too much). It's complete nonsense to raise the bar like that.
Back to the event... I am with Seraphim: make it an achievement.

Why is everyone so pissed? You know the total number of devs is less than 1000. You know the player base is more than a million (or somewhere around that order of magnitude). The chances of you seeing a dev is very very very low. They offer a decorative item IF you see one and kill one. The chances of this are extremely low. This is KNOWN. Yet, everyone is on here pissing and moaning about not getting their dev kill, like they should be entitled to it. It's not a big contest event, just a simple bonus for those lucky enough to find and kill a dev. But not everyone gets a trophy, and not everyone should. Otherwise, the trophy just isn't really special. Get over it.

I think that the "killed a dev" should be a permanent ongoing reward from now on.
I've rarely seen a Dev since I started playing the game since early beta and I don't even think I actually had a kill on one. And if I actually had a kill on one it would have been nice to have one of thoses "killed a dev" items.
Make it a permanent ongoing reward and I think alot of people would be happier.

Had the honor of taking down Mr. Paul this evening right after thinking "there's no WAY I'm going to even find a dev at 1AM on a Sunday"
