What I don't understand, is ostensibly if you want your friend to enjoy the game and if he was sitting right beside you and wanted to learn on fast mechs.
Why not let him use a fully kitted out Jenner or Ember on your account and you play on the newbie account ?.
Right now 2-3 man groups have a rough time in the group queue, everyone knows this.
So what you do is bring a brand new player into the game and put him in a trial mech in the worst possible conditions possible....
I'd almost assume you were trying to sabotage his new player experience, and don't start with a garbage argument that is shouldn't be like that etc...
The fact of the matter is, right now that's how it is and anyone trying to introduce a new player to the game should be trying their best to give them the best new user experience possible.
Why not just spend a few bucks and set both of your accounts up with premium time for even a day and do 1v1's with him, or once you've set up two premium accounts have however many of your steam friends join you play 12v12 in house games....
There are a myriad of options available, instead of choosing them you come here and place blame......
Hold on there chief your tin foil hat seems to be on too tight. This isn't about blame, this is raw feedback I'm providing out of my own free time and good will for PGI's benefit because not all new players are willing to provide it, let alone casual ones from an untapped market PGI only dreams they could break into.
At no point did I say the guy was sitting in the room next to me. He's just a bud I game with on steam from time to time. Also I took him to the community run Stock Monday event where he was able to pick up valuable advice and have fun in a controlled group environment. I'm more than happy to help people out if they need more info about the event or just check out the web site here >
http://mechforceclassic.enjin.com/. It's casual, fun, and matches actually feel like genuine battletech/mechwarrior. That's just one night per week tho, and he's not going to earn a thing spending all of his time in private matches, so I advised him to get some solo drops in to save up and maybe we'll group some more later on. I just hope the lrm spam and stomp groups don't drive him off. So far it was nice seeing some fresh faces for the stock matches.
