There is a reason ecm is not used in top tier games beacuse lrms are next to useless when playing better player's, so if you think ecm is the problem then i hate to break it to you but you are the real problem.

Magic Jesus Box is an issue.

Believe it or not, paying a tax to use weapons, other than for DHS, is a fairly poor game mechanic.


I don't even use LRMs, which the supporters seem to cry, and I don't like the implementation.

ECM is still used, just not to the extent you see it in the SOLO queue.

You are correct, not many LRMS (until clans) in Group Queue so no real need for ECM or as much of it.

But was there really a need to start a topic on this? Kinda of silly isn't it? Tons of threads about this already. But if you need to think someone is listening to you i guess I answered....

Still....you have no valid point other then an observation of fewer LRMS in group....Direct fire is king.

Because im right.... name a time you have seen sjr, lords, swk, 238th, or any of the other top teams do an Lrm build or when have you beat them with one... on top of that other then an odd ddc they dont bring ecm to much..

What exactly is your point? Most players are not top players, and most player won't be playing top players. Therefore, most players can use LRMs to rack up the damager and kills, and from that we have many players using ECM if its available on their mech.

Weather or not your thesis is correct, it has no bearing on the typicaly casual player experience of LRM vs. ECM

This is mostly because our current ECM carriers tend to have some sort of weakness or another...that isn't an ECM problem, that's a problem with the chassis in question. Give us something like an ECM Cataphract or Stalker, and we'd see ECMageddon pretty quickly.

Could you imagine they outcry if you could auto-aim an enemy with direct-fire weapons based on the games target-sharing system like players can do with LRMs and it would let you ignore your weapons LOS?

I think they should just remove LRMs and SSRMs from the game and ECM as well.

Im sorry maybe people should get better ? And if elo is removed in the group Que scrub will start seeing all of us real soon so maybe move away from your cruch

Or maybe you should just bring it! Top players don't scare me or impress me. They are a target I have been kept from for a while. Playing against them will step up my game and that is all I want.

So... because top teams rarely bring ECM into their matches, suddenly ECM isn't a problem? Knowing that top teams rarely ever pack any LRMs and virtually only use direct fire weaponry?

Do I have to point out the flaws in this argument?

Furthermore, even without LRMs in the picture, ECM still provides several major advantages, related with quick target finding, focus-firing and discovering weak spots in enemy armor. All of it in a small, light package. And that's just off-hand.

Then 'top players' shouldn't care if LRMs or ECM are changed. If they never use either.

You shot down your own argument.

The only reason I want changes is because they decided to put 'A BattleTech Game' in the title. Yet JesusBox does things that GECM + AECM + Nullsig + Stealth Armor + Chameleon Shield never had the ability to do. Either fix the frakking JesusBox or remove BattleTech from the title so everyone knows it's just CounterStrike in robot skins.

To be honest im just sick of all the complaints about ecm well im bored in a lab waiting for the new clan mechs. And this is less work/more fun then going to all the other threads
