Haters hate because of content and mechanics of which none of your list addresses. is this a good thing, yes. Will this add new players, probably not.
The anniverary sale attracts both old and new players. The grindy nature of the game and the prices have been a big obstacle to gaining player interest. I was convinced to purchase mc to take advantage of the mechbay sale. I have not spent any money since founders. Consider that MC purchase right now adds in the bonus centurion and the 100 matches is easy attainable. A new player can make a MC purchase, play 100 games, and get tons of Schwag and buy mech bays on discount and be set for a long time. A older player can come back and have all this waiting for them. That is very appealing.

But. . . you're a legendary founder. Exactly how long did it take you to slog your way through UI 2.0?

Anyway this is cool news for founders and supporters of the game, even if more then a few of them I know aren't taking away that active player award. Personally I feel the offer to take suggestions on how to balance ECM was a more salient gesture.

This reward is for anyone who has ever purchased MechWarrior Credits. Eligible players will receive an exclusive new Centurion variant - the CN9-AH - decked out with a custom paint job, along with a 30% C-bill Bonus and a free Mechbay. This custom CN9-AH variant will only be available through our MechWarrior Credits Reward program and will be injected into eligible accounts on October 21st. You have until Sept 23rd at 10:00 am PDT to earn the MechWarrior Credits Reward. Founders packages that included MechWarrior Credits qualify for this reward. Standard versions of this new variant will be available for C-Bills at a future date to be determined.
Definitely a sound reward, but what about the people who haven't purchased anything and don't have credit/debit cards? It's practically impossible to pay any amount of money for MC without using a credit card, as opposed to having paysafecard to help people who don't have, and don't necessarily want to get, a new credit card.

This whole year has been extremely positive. Yes, hitreg is still sketchy, but that's a difficult nut to crack. It's not like making a new mech (invest x hours of artist+dev time, done), and adding more people to a bug hunt doesn't always (or even usually) help. It's simply a matter of time to get it fixed.
Everyone wants it fixed. Me, you, PGI.
I honestly think it's time people stopped with the "Well, this is a good gesture, but what happens going forwards?" People have been saying that, and things like it, all year. I get it that PGI's track record previously was very poor, but they've been going strong for 6+ months. Give em a break. Try just saying thanks?
How about NO? How many "good gestures" we saw in the past only to be slapped in the face with another pile of bullsh!t right afterwards? Actually some sort of giveaway after all the reddit-transverse affair was to be expected. You know, free virtual goodies are just that ... virtual, they don't cost them a single penny, so essentially they give us nothing. But really, do we need new mechs? Or 2mil c-bills? lol ... No. We need a properly balanced game that is fun to play. Most importantly for some of us, we need a BattleTech game PGI keeps claiming they are making. So far, we got nothing in this particular regard. This affair CAN be a turnaround. But how many turnarounds that could have happened before never happened? So there is nothing to thank them for. As for whole year being positive ... I just don't know what you've been smoking. CWp1? Like a useless piece of map and unit tags that weren't even assigned correctly? Player feedback initiative? How about reading your own forums for a change? Maybe they'll start now that they are banned somewhere else ...

I am really loving how you are looking after the game recently.
As a long term player; I'm happy that you're enticing new players and rewarding the loyal folk.
The recent challenges have been awesome. These "gifts" seem obvious to me as virtual goods can only be great for the community.
I have no problem with you enticing players to spend real money on the game. These type of perks are great for morale.

How about that huh, lets look at whats happening, lets start with their new venture, not alot of support there for PGI wonder why, now all these half give aways and community involvement, guess its time to suck up to those on the Island.
But still only Mechs behind long time paywalls and nothing else, did some one say new maps, anything else apart from a new $ clanpack? no? as i said earlier loosing IGP hasnt changed much has it.
ohhh wait my bad CW soon...
