Bloody hell you guys at PGI are trying for a strong come back real hard, I like what I am seeing from you, I know that that it is impossible to please all the people all the time but you are as sure as hell pleasing alot of the people right now, I just hope that you can continue this path.

The one thing which has me worried though is that if you throw in so much goodness in one go people will get used to it and whine and cry if you fail to hit a deadline or make an event where the rewards are not so stunning, because that is the major problem with the WANT MOARRRR generation that infests the gamming world.

Me I am happy with the last two events, as a matter of fact more then happy, the free Bay was very welcome, the free Premium time a nice suprise and the extra C-Bills very welcome (although I made lots more C-Bills getting that award hihi), if you keep these sort of events up (once a month would be nice) you will keep the more moderate players more then happy, just make sure that the players know that the rewards that you are throwing at us now are the exceptions to the rule so that no false hopes are raised.

Give us a working CW some time soon and keep on talking to us and acting on that feedback in some way or the other and alot of your problems will be gone and forgotten, an no you do not have to act on each and every whine but it would be nice if you could explain in one of the town hall talks why you do certain things (keeping ghost heat comes to mind) that way we know that you are reading and hearing what the players are saying, and while we may not like the answers most of us will respect you more and learn to accept why you do certain things if the communincation is right, and it is looking good in that department right now.

You have now jumped in from one extreme into another and now alot of players like me have high expectations that this approach of yours will continue, and I for one will not forgive a second time, but for now it is time to get my wallet out and start buying that damm Clan Pack 2 dammit.

And on a sidenote, what was predicted by the MWO community seems to become reality: Transverse seems to become a lame duck, so they probably will scrap it altogether. As sad i am for PGI that they have to rely on MWO, as a MWO-Player i am kinda reliefed. So next Stop: Aerotech!!! The Founders-Dropship will be awesome! ;)

Too little too late PGI.

After this latest embarrassment I'm probably done with this game. Now that its become a buy to win there's next to no point in this whatsoever. It is good to see that only if you currently dump hundreds into the game do you get any sort of decent 'reward'. Thats utter crap guys.

There are many of us that have been here since the beginning. We have stayed loyal through closed and open beta right up to the official launch. And your 'reward' is giving us another useless centurion, a possibly cool atlas (but wait if your buying your win you can get it too its not founders exclusive), and a measly 2 mil in c-bills that could be ground out in a couple of hours.

Quite honestly the founders mechs should have been adjusted before any clan invasion mechs were even dropped. The ghost heat issue should have been adjusted months ago if not right at the start of official open since that has been an existing problem for a long time.

Good to see how well our loyalty is treated.

Well played PGI. I won't be.

Reply #750 odd, so i doubt I'll get heard this far down.... but....

Bitterly dissappointed I will not have the chance to get an invasion Mad Dog. Like, not ever.

This is the single mech I was really holding out for.

PGI, will I ever be able to get my hands on an invasion Mad Dog? While its a nice deal for those that could afford the clan mechs and man-o-war, it leaves those of us without deep pockets out in the wet. Kinda stinks.

Absolutely hurting over this. :(

It's just a variant that people get for having bought those packages. Like everything else it'll be on sale for MC & C-Bills at some point down the line. I'm not entirely sure, but I think I read somewhere that it'll be in the new year. So wait 4 months and you'll have more of your ugly-ass Clan Mechs to run around with.

A la carte counts and it didn't have to be before the release. Basicly you just have to have bought a package before the deadline.

well, those are some impressive gifts i have to say.
3 New Mechs, 4 mech bays, 2 cockpit items, 2 million c-bills. All within the next 3 months and for "free".
A little sad that i wont get that vulture, but that is ok. I can always get it later for c-bills when it comes out if it is interesting enough hardpoint-wise.

And even those people who never paid anything can at least get a cockpit items, 1 mech bay and 2 million c-bills for free.
And another cockpit item for 1 win this weekend.

After the launch event last year that many where dissappointed with this is a huge change.
Keep it up with some events (like we had the last month) here and there and keep on communicating like you have the last couple of weeks now and you might be able to really win back the favor of a lot of people.

Me, i can't wait to try out the new Atlas and the King Crab. I played around some with the numbers and there are some really interesting possibilities.
I hope you will inform us soon exactly what hardpoints some of those Mechs have (beyond maybe the build in weapons) and what Variants you will choose

My hat is off to PGI for the Anniversary care packages!

I respect the fact that they are trying to earn through giving. But I mean, its not expensive to get a few MC in order to get a free mech. Then on top of that you can still spend the MC that you bought after you have a new mech variant.

It is a win win scenario and a fair trade!

Kudos and thanks!!

Yay KCG-000!

I'm curious how the King Crab will work out. In the past we've been told that Mech chassis needed 3 unique (or semi-unique) variants to make them viable. Will we see a KCG-000, -0000, and 001? And how many of these will we be gifted? One is enough as long as you've giving them away for free. But there will be a few eyebrows raised if you start to deviate from that formula now.

An alt account just to use to complain? Or is it just a troll?

1) NOT buy to win. Give me a break ... every mech in the rewards will be available for MC and Cbills. It is only buy to be an early adopter and to have early access. PGI has been very careful to make sure that none of the pay only content has a significant advantage over cbill only content. When and if that changes, I will be in the front row complaining ... but it isn't that way now ... stating it is just trolling.

2) "Dump hundreds into the game to get a good reward" ... I can ONLY assume that you are talking about the Mad Dog which will be available for Cbills and MC in just a few months. Oh! You are complaining because you want it now and don't want to buy all the clan mechs to do it. Me too! :) ... So I will just wait for it to be available later. I expect that they will put 30% cbill bonus versions up for sale eventually. The only long term advantage of the bonus one is the unique geometry and camo pattern.

3) I've been here since closed beta. I wasn't expecting any of these anniversary rewards ... it is a nice surprise. The only useless mechs are ones you would never play ... so opinions vary ... I think locusts and are useless :) ... and commandos almost useless ... most everything else I might play so they aren't useless. Including the centurion, atlas and king crab.

4) I never turn down cbills :). Some of the rewards are accessible by players that haven't purchased much of anything ... you get the 2 mill cbills just for playing which in a free to play game is getting something for nothing (except having fun playing the game).

5) Why should anything be founders exclusive beyond the founders rewards already received? Feel entitled much? If you didn't notice ... founders will pretty much automatically qualify for all of the rewards (except clan) without any further effort. Sure, the rewards are open to others too ... but founders get the +5% to all their founders mechs ... and all the rewards except clans.

6) They are boosting the rewards on founders mechs ... long overdue in my opinion ... but maybe IGP was in charge of those decisions? However, when introduced originally it was a requirement to make hero mechs BETTER than founders to encourage founders to buy them at that stage of the game. They needed revenue and mech selection was limited ... the 5% bonus for hero mechs was an incentive to encourage purchase of heroes over using your founders mechs ... was it needed? Did it make a difference? No idea but I can see the reasoning behind it.

7) Ghost heat sucks ... sure. However, it was introduced to restrict OP builds ... limit rate of fire on AC40, limit 6xPPC Stalker, 4 or 6 LL mechs ... lots of mechs were OP by boating. If you want it removed ... it is simply because you are a power gamer and want to go back to allowing one shot kill builds and reduce the overall time to kill in the game. OR maybe it offends your sensibilities ... I know it bothers me if only because it doesn't make much sense except as a game mechanic. HOWEVER, to address ghost heat you have to revise the entire heat system for ALL mechs and ALL weapons so that 6x PPC builds would overheat without ghost heat ... the issue isn't ghost heat itself ... ghost heat is a mechanism that patches other design issues.

Personally, I would love to see PGI use the test server to try revamping ECM/Heat/damge since the current game is hamstrung in some ways by previous design decisions and the only way to work its way out will be step wise change with a ultimate goal in mind or a large change to a new starting point followed by balancing passes to iron out the details. We may wind up with a very different game balance in some ways but hopefully also a better game overall.

The real question is whether a project like that will be worthwhile for PGI to invest time in ... anyway, the first step is the ECM initiative and we will see where that leads.

If push comes to shove they can make up some variants. we have champion mechs after all.

Dear Mr. Bullock,

Between your candor at the "town-hall" and given the new arrangement with PGI taking exclusive control of MW:O I have to say that I have a renewed optimism about the future of this game. I also want to say that my opinion of you has changed for the better. Congratulations and thank you. Oh, and by the way, I wish you lot at PGI scads of success.

How about that huh, lets look at whats happening, lets start with their new venture, not alot of support there for PGI wonder why, now all these half give aways and community involvement, guess its time to suck up to those on the Island.
But still only Mechs behind long time paywalls and nothing else, did some one say new maps, anything else apart from a new $ clanpack? no? as i said earlier loosing IGP hasnt changed much has it.
ohhh wait my bad CW soon...

I agree that PGI has failed to deliver in the past. However, they came through with the first phase of Community Warfare. It's apparent they are trying to rebuild their fan base in preparation for CW. I have hated almost every nerf they have come up with. Ghost Heat, Guass Charge, Jump Jets, Etc... these are just punishments against good pilots using their skills against mediocre players who don't want to learn the skills necessary to keep up.

However, It looks as though PGI is trying to mend its ways, and I know that I am willing to forgive them if they come through. I do have to give them the chance to prove themselves, and I hope they don't prove me wrong. But, the proof will be in the pudding, and time will show us all the truth...
