An alt account just to use to complain? Or is it just a troll?

1) NOT buy to win. Give me a break ... every mech in the rewards will be available for MC and Cbills. It is only buy to be an early adopter and to have early access. PGI has been very careful to make sure that none of the pay only content has a significant advantage over cbill only content. When and if that changes, I will be in the front row complaining ... but it isn't that way now ... stating it is just trolling.

2) "Dump hundreds into the game to get a good reward" ... I can ONLY assume that you are talking about the Mad Dog which will be available for Cbills and MC in just a few months. Oh! You are complaining because you want it now and don't want to buy all the clan mechs to do it. Me too! :) ... So I will just wait for it to be available later. I expect that they will put 30% cbill bonus versions up for sale eventually. The only long term advantage of the bonus one is the unique geometry and camo pattern.

3) I've been here since closed beta. I wasn't expecting any of these anniversary rewards ... it is a nice surprise. The only useless mechs are ones you would never play ... so opinions vary ... I think locusts and are useless :) ... and commandos almost useless ... most everything else I might play so they aren't useless. Including the centurion, atlas and king crab.

4) I never turn down cbills :). Some of the rewards are accessible by players that haven't purchased much of anything ... you get the 2 mill cbills just for playing which in a free to play game is getting something for nothing (except having fun playing the game).

5) Why should anything be founders exclusive beyond the founders rewards already received? Feel entitled much? If you didn't notice ... founders will pretty much automatically qualify for all of the rewards (except clan) without any further effort. Sure, the rewards are open to others too ... but founders get the +5% to all their founders mechs ... and all the rewards except clans.

6) They are boosting the rewards on founders mechs ... long overdue in my opinion ... but maybe IGP was in charge of those decisions? However, when introduced originally it was a requirement to make hero mechs BETTER than founders to encourage founders to buy them at that stage of the game. They needed revenue and mech selection was limited ... the 5% bonus for hero mechs was an incentive to encourage purchase of heroes over using your founders mechs ... was it needed? Did it make a difference? No idea but I can see the reasoning behind it.

7) Ghost heat sucks ... sure. However, it was introduced to restrict OP builds ... limit rate of fire on AC40, limit 6xPPC Stalker, 4 or 6 LL mechs ... lots of mechs were OP by boating. If you want it removed ... it is simply because you are a power gamer and want to go back to allowing one shot kill builds and reduce the overall time to kill in the game. OR maybe it offends your sensibilities ... I know it bothers me if only because it doesn't make much sense except as a game mechanic. HOWEVER, to address ghost heat you have to revise the entire heat system for ALL mechs and ALL weapons so that 6x PPC builds would overheat without ghost heat ... the issue isn't ghost heat itself ... ghost heat is a mechanism that patches other design issues.

Personally, I would love to see PGI use the test server to try revamping ECM/Heat/damge since the current game is hamstrung in some ways by previous design decisions and the only way to work its way out will be step wise change with a ultimate goal in mind or a large change to a new starting point followed by balancing passes to iron out the details. We may wind up with a very different game balance in some ways but hopefully also a better game overall.

The real question is whether a project like that will be worthwhile for PGI to invest time in ... anyway, the first step is the ECM initiative and we will see where that leads.

Not necessarily so. I did play with the stalker PPC boat a few times. I hated how much it overheated. It wasn't worth being a target for half the game. and I was only fortunate to get one or two kills per match. Not good when you consider my normal k/d ratio is usually 4-6 kills per match. Other than that. I'm not a boater. And I think that ghost heat sucks! Here is why. This game was designed so that you could take your mech customize it to fit your gaming style (if you had the money as it was expensive) and enjoy your style of play. All this talk of balance just forces players to play in a specific role and many not of their choosing.

For example. When you nerf long range weapons such as guass and ppc. (by the way, I never tried it) You take away a players ability to be a good sniper. My son liked the nerf but only because when he ran his light mechs he would often get caught standing still, and creamed because of it. And not because of one mech, but fire from multiple opponents. Once he learned to keep moving and rarely stand still, he stopped dying as quickly. He had to learn to play his mech "tactically correct" and not try and use it as a brawler. Now, he is a much improved player, and thinks the nerf was stupid (just like the rest of us) By the way Deaderpool & ShotZzZ are my sons, and Bascha2010 my wife. Our whole family plays ~grins.

All of these "Balances" when you get down to the nitty gritty. Are simply because people don't want to take the time to learn to pilot their mechs unique rolls correctly. Quite frankly I am tired of hearing about "balance" once they "balance" this item, they will just move on to the next, and pretty soon this game will be adequately nerfed and refered to as Rockem Sockem Robots.

On the plus side. I do like what PGI has done with this anniversary package. The more people have put into the game, the more rewards they receive. My faith in them, is nearly restored. =]

Haven't played in over a year and got 3 shiny new mechs.

While that's nifty, it was never lack of mechs that stopped me from playing. The lack of balance, glacial development pace, and questionable design descisions (ghost heat) did that for me.

Good move though PGI, it will be nice to use if the game changes. I know I'd love to play again if there was some reason to.

Pretty cool, PGI. Honestly, we shouldn't expect less, as some folks could have purchased a car instead of spending money on your version of robot jox, but it's a good thing y'all are starting to throw some bones to the folks who pay your electric bills.

You do know that the Mad Dog will eventually be available for MC and C-bills, right?

Getting it early is just a nice reward for those of us who purchase top-tier packs.

This is all great news and a sign that PGI is giving the founders and others rewards for our investments in this endeavor.

Would like to see some real advancements in CW and new maps to get some real content in this game.

I sure hope that the King Crab mech given for preorders include us founders that preordered our founders mechs long before the game was even put out to beta test.

Very impressive announcement. It looks like you guys have one hell of a Q4 planned for the game. A new mech pack, tons of new free swag for the long-time supporters, a couple new maps and CW still in the pipe? This is a level of activity that'll pretty much dwarf everything else we've seen in the last 3 years!

The thing that impresses me the most though, is that it honestly seems like you guys sat down and thought a lot of important "long-term" things through. I'm seeing a real "plan" going forward to start emphasizing a change in the monetization strategy for the game. With all these new mechs hitting at the same time, there's finally a solid reason to throw a few bucks into MC (for GXP'ing and customizing the new chassis) and to buy Premium time to help get through them quicker. I'll be the first to admit I've been extremely skeptical of the game's direction over the last couple of weeks... But you've at least given me a reason and a desire now to want to see how it all turns out over the next few months.

Don't think that I don't appreciate the free mechs, because I do.

What I don't appreciate is that you're all about to essentially split Clan and Inner Sphere with Clan warfare. So, all the IS mechs that I got, suppporting the game for 2 years with MC money, are not going to be used anymore. I am in a clan, and so I will be using clan mechs.

When Clan I came out I wanted to support the game, but I could not afford $240 for Masakari. I bought Puma for $150 instead. Previously I had supported the game with the initial Phoenix pack, and about $500 in MC puchases, which allowed me to have 7 Hero mechs, and a total of 60+ mechs. I have supported every major buy in that PGI has had. I just didn't buy in at the highest tier, because I cannot afford that much money at one shot.

So, for all my support of the game, I will be getting three IS mechs. I really do appreciate that, but I will not be able to use them in my situation. What excites me is the free CLAN mech. I now can afford to purchase a tier of Clan Invasion 2, and I intend to, but I still cannot afford to upgrade my Clan 1 purchase. So, I will be supporting the game with all these purchases, and will not get a single one of the free mechs that I can actually use.

Your IS mechs will NOT be useless. The only time you'll be restricted to Clan mechs is when you're dropping for CW. The normal queue has no such restriction. Hell, I'm in a clan right now too and I only own 6 clan mechs compared to my 25 IS mechs.
