We're not "happy" about new mechs (although I can't lie, an Atlas, KC, and AH for free are very nice), we're "happy" because it seems like PGI is actually willing to listen more to the players/customers. Make no mistake, most of us are "on the fence" with this one, but we're willing to give the benefit of a doubt until December.

We're happy to participate in discussions and cautiously optimistic, but I doubt many of us are willing to throw money at PGI like we used to yet.

and because being cautiously happy is more pleasant, and leads to better health, than being perpetually butthurt? I mean....really, I play this game sitting down, being butthurt would significantly impact that.

It is very hard for some folks to sit down and enjoy the game because of the stick they have shoved up their arse.

well, I try not to judge on those things, I hear some people actually enjoy that. (Sounds like you would get splinters, though) But I do see where it would impact one's sitting. And enjoyment.

Then don't.

The proof will be in their actions; we await those actions concerning CW and new maps and game modes.

The free stuff is a nice gesture. Their salvation will be the roll out of Community Warfare and more immersive gameplay.

That's fine, but there are A LOT of you who are coming across as giant hypocrites right now. Especially with them announcing another Clan package before CW is out.

Niko is still here. CW is still not. We have more mechs. We do not have more maps. This is silly.

I expect it from some people who I realize have very little life outside of the game, but a lot of you, especially the ones who were on the Reddit, you guys are just freaking silly.

PGI has to be laughing at you at this point.

My bosses have a negative attitude about running this business I practically run on my own for them. Hence why I need to find a new job after 18 years here and no upswing in sight. Like Bishop says, if you think negative then all you expect is negative things and it leads to unpleasant situations.

Nope, I haven't and still don't plan to play for coming up on 2 months. I get that you have a lot of free time. That's cool, more power to you.

But to see so many people go from one extreme to another, it makes them look like a bunch of suckers for more promises and more mechs.

There has been very little substance so far. Even the ECM talks were put back on to the players with no real offer of help from the devs.

Even you Bishop, have been bi-polar with regards to PGI, but you've invested so much time and money, you almost have to have it go right.

He's terrible at his job. The Transverse Reddit debacle makes PGI look like imbeciles. People don't normally keep their jobs after stuff like that.

Cause the Mechs in question has been a sticking point (Centurion), Personal Crusade(King Crab) and just a nice gesture(Atlas). Also, the Devs have actually been making cameos in threads answering questions, doling out explanations and generally being cool.

So as long as they keep on:
Saying what they do
Continuing to do what they say
They are proving it.

Its a good start in the right direction. They have my attention, I want to see them prove themselves. I do NOT want to see them fail. I'm still leery, but impressed at the effort.

Nope, I don't tend to let go. When the screw the pooch, i let them know. When they do good, I let them know. This Anniversary Gift is no replacement for CW, or Maps, etc. It is still a ncie gesture, as has been the extra communication.

The rest remains to be seen.

But what you are doing is tantamount to complain about having a great meal today, because you had bad ones before.

Enjoy THIS meal for what it's worth, then worry about tomorrow, later.

I guess have fun never being happy? Dunno what to say.

PGI has 100% of the control of how this will all go down. They have 100% of the information on sales, active player numbers, cost vs. income, etc.

We don't.

But the 180-degree turn of late is, at the least, evidence that maybe, just maybe, our message got through. We can only hope it will result in "a better game." And yeah, Niko did something silly on Reddit (at the behest of his employers - dude has always been reasonable with me.) Reddit clamped it down. PGI has egg on their face with the Transversal stuff - and I assure you the response to that has everything to do with their recent activity here.

Or we can be bitter and angry and whatnot and try to ride them out of town on rails, and kill both the future of MWO and PGI in the process.

Do you want a better MWO, with devs who have learned from their mistakes and the responses of their customers? Or do you want to watch it burn?

Your choice.

Actually that's a bad analogy. I'm saying that since about the time they missed their first CW deadline, new Mechs have been a bane on this game. They are released to placate people.

And they continue to be released to placate people.

So your analogy would be more like I've had bad meals (Phoenix Package, Reinforcement Package, Clan Packages) and now I'm being given another bad meal (Clan Reinforcement Package with some free mechs sprinkled in because they done majorly ****** up this time with Transverse).

Nothing has changed, more words, no progress.

What did they do exactly? We've had Unit Creation added, that's it. They still really haven't done anything...except release more mechs.

Lets get this straight, I do not derive my happiness from this game. I never have, I had fun playing it for a bit and then I stopped having fun when I realized it was never going to be a good game. It may still become a mediocre game at best.

I know that is all a lot of you have to grasp onto, is that I'm some miserable person sitting in my dark basement writing hateful posts.

When in fact I'm at work, with two of our main processing systems down and a bit of free time.

I post for two reason, one I'm still a fan of Mechwarrior and Battletech. And second because of the MAJORLY hypocritical nature of the posters on the forums, which I find very interesting. It's very much like an abusive relationship.

The problem is...none of that has been proven yet, and everyone is dancing around because of their new King Crab and a bunch of words. Nothing has changed. They did this same thing earlier this year...then radio silence came again.
