Actually that's a bad analogy. I'm saying that since about the time they missed their first CW deadline, new Mechs have been a bane on this game. They are released to placate people.

And they continue to be released to placate people.

So your analogy would be more like I've had bad meals (Phoenix Package, Reinforcement Package, Clan Packages) and now I'm being given another bad meal (Clan Reinforcement Package with some free mechs sprinkled in because they done majorly ****** up this time with Transverse).

Nothing has changed, more words, no progress.

What did they do exactly? We've had Unit Creation added, that's it. They still really haven't done anything...except release more mechs.

What did they do, exactly? Well... I've been gone for a few months... I came back to:

- Re-joining a game possible
- An in-game starmap for CW
- Fall damage/JJ changes to limit tarting
- Clan Mechs
- New counters to ECM
- New consumables and modules
- The unit creation process

I could go on, if you like?

What have they done? Well from the perspective of a player who has spent a good amount of money on this game, they've made some good progress in the time I've been away.

Do I expect things to get better now that IGP is out of the picture? You bet. Do I expect it today? Mmmm no... that kind of separation requires a bit of time (and patience) to weed out problems.

Saying folks are bipolar or look like fools because they walk the line of criticizing / giving props when it's due (and all levels of extremity of each included) really isn't fair. Quite frankly, it's a bit insulting to those of us who try to stay in the middle and be objective when discussing a game we want to succeed.

That said... Do you want this game to succeed?

How a bout years of Zero visibility IN the forum. Threads running 40+ pages with ZERO DEV presence. Thread popping up By IT guys saying This is why You are having crap frame rates/Ping etc. Can I help? And actually Helping! It's a positive change.
So far they took a few steps in the right direction. You don't scold a child for failing to walk or when they take their first steps cause they failed in the past.

I have always chastised my bosses for things like, an employee messing up and scrapping 20 parts, BUT failing to recognize 3-4 YEARS of zero loss what so ever.

So I can't preach

If I don't

Now can I

Lets get this straight, I do not derive my happiness from this game. I never have, I had fun playing it for a bit and then I stopped having fun when I realized it was never going to be a good game. It may still become a mediocre game at best.

I know that is all a lot of you have to grasp onto, is that I'm some miserable person sitting in my dark basement writing hateful posts.

When in fact I'm at work, with two of our main processing systems down and a bit of free time.

I post for two reason, one I'm still a fan of Mechwarrior and Battletech. And second because of the MAJORLY hypocritical nature of the posters on the forums, which I find very interesting. It's very much like an abusive relationship.

The problem is...none of that has been proven yet, and everyone is dancing around because of their new King Crab and a bunch of words. Nothing has changed. They did this same thing earlier this year...then radio silence came again.

aren't you the one saying that actions speak louder than words (or lack of dev action in this place, being louder than whatever?).

So by your own standard we have nothing else to hold you to, as here you are, bitter and angry all the time, making it a point to be bitter and angry, on forums of a game you no longer enjoy and do not play.

Well, by any rational measure, your actions speak against the likelihood of you sitting in a bright cheery room, sipping chardonnay, listening to the birds sing while listening to feel good music.

You actions are of someone who is bitter and angry, with nothing better, and more pleasant, to do. Because rational people, with so much more happiness to be derived in their lives, usually let go, and move on to doing what DOES make them happy, rather than haunting some place they detest, doing their utmost to try to crap on everyone else's happiness.

People who seem to exist solely to complain and spread bad vibes, are very seldom, bright cheerful people with a hugely fulfilling itinerary.

And that is exactly how you and a few others are coming across. So you will have to excuse us if we have trouble "grasping" other motives for your actions.

No, it hasn't been zero, that's the problem.

It happens in spurts, when they get into trouble, Paul and Russ come in saying they are going to redouble their efforts.

They do that for maybe a month at most.

Then we are back to status quo.

I'd be fine if you guys were celebrating after a month. But you guys are celebrating after a week.

And especially after a lot of you swore up and down that you would boycott this game if PGI released another mech package before CW.

Then why are you here? Seriously Nick, why continue to be here if you are not having fun? Your being a downer on a game you don't like. When I don't like something I walk away and generally never look back. Dude seriously? I'm sitting at work, i'm in the financial industry. The building is a constant 70 degrees and bright as well. Between posts I'm discussing Fantasy Football, Adrian Peterson and how our technology here sucks.

After work I'm going to go home, play with my 3 year old, help my 7 year old with her homework and catch up on SOA and Blacklist with my wife.

I really cannot believe you took the time to post that drivel. I must have hit a nerve.

New Facotry map almost ready, Pro-active step to include community in discussion for fixing a long standing bone of contention, ECM, as a first step to see if our Devs/Community can work together on other hot topic issues. This last one, along with their recently buying the full license for the IP out from IGP and the jettisoning of the dead weight that is IGP? (see MWTactics) and massive uptick in forum presence and communication, and willingness to welcome back certain individuals with whom they have...history, all seems to speak more to me than content, anyhow.

At least enough to quell my dissatisfaction in other areas, for the moment. Would still like them to approach other things very differently (like nerfing the dang TWolf, not the whole bloody clans....I would like my Summoner to hold it's own against a bloody Centurion, TYVM, but more nerfs, will probably end that, lol).

But I tend to reserve my raging for rage worthy stuff.

Good

Fluff

Terribly implemented

Crap

New counters to ECM? Seriously? lol

Crap

First game I've played that went into release THEN added unit creation.

And they added some major desync issues on top of all of that.

And yours? Have been pretty sad.

Ah well, #54. Snivel/Whine Filter engaged.

Did I say Paul and Russ? I am seeing names of DEVs I didn't know we had. I never said I would boycott them, I just don't buy them. When PGI does something I am unhappy with I say it in no uncertain terms ("Starting a New game while your first venture is unfinished is not a good idea!), (The Game needs more meat on its bones) (So why don't you post important info on your own forum?) Things I have said here and on Twitter... Even Reddit! So when I don't like something they do I poke em with a stick, When they do something I do, I pat 'em on the back. Nothing Bi Polar about that. Come January if CW looks no different than now, I will likely upgrade from a Stick to a hot Biscotti!

Yes, but only if it succeeds according to his terms, and the way he envisions it, apparently. Which has long been the disconnect with some parties. Inability to accept they are not the ones making the game, making the decisions and taking the risk.

That's fine, but there are A LOT of you who are coming across as giant hypocrites right now. Especially with them announcing another Clan package before CW is out.

Niko is still here. CW is still not. We have more mechs. We do not have more maps. This is silly.

I expect it from some people who I realize have very little life outside of the game, but a lot of you, especially the ones who were on the Reddit, you guys are just freaking silly.

PGI has to be laughing at you at this point.

I don't get the "hypocrite" reply. You're a hypocrite if the president of the company sent you a personal message, had a discussion with you, you accepted his replies, he accepted yours, and you're optimistic that it was all sincere. That's not hypocritical to me.

Hypocritical is asking others to do something (or not do something) and then going out and doing the same thing yourself, either through vocalization or action.

"Don't play MWO!"
*then plays MWO*
Hypocritical

"This sucks! I'm not supporting MWO anymore until changes are made!"
*changes start to be made*
"Ok, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and continue holding discussions about how to improve MWO, but I'm not handing you money until changes are implemented (or in this case stuff like CW)"
Not hypocritical

I'm hoping that's not the case. Sometimes even folks who spew this kind of negativity really do have a good reason for doing it... it's the approach, presentation and words used that cause the problem.

What I hope is that this is a person who really does care about the game. If not, then he (and his posts) can go into my mental bit-bucket (garbage can).

I actually agree with you, but what I have found is many who have "legit" issues, still have fallen into this category. And simply cannot see it for themselves.

And gamers, well, we seem to be an entitled lot, to begin with, for some dang reason, lol.

I can answer that though I no longer fit into that slot...

The flaming of the game and trolling of the forums becomes its own game after you stop playing the game itself. Ive done it, you can see it in my history. The game stops being fun and riling ppl up on the forums/posting on the forums becomes more fun than the game was in the first place and that **** starts to snowball fast.

Yeah, guys, newsflash, you CAN change your mind as a human being. I know its fun to scream PGI lied electrons died when PGI makes a change in things or someone starts thinking a different way than they used to but thats normal in real life. Its enlightening to change your viewpoint in light of new facts. Its ignorant and close minded to keep to the old way no matter what.
