What a terrible precident you all set for yourselves.
Wait until they accomplish a full CW module and more maps on time; then you can really say things are improving

Oh so your back to defensive mode where no one is allowed to post unless it's positive.....right! that worked so well for you before.

Actually, the free stuff sweeps lots of money into their pockets, so it's not as generous as some think it is.
I'm a bit disappointed that all it takes are a few shiny things and promises that yet need to be proven true to change all those minds here. Where most people were still skeptical when the first Clan pack came out, now it is all forgotten and money is thrown around, yet we still have to see even the smallest bit of prove that they are actually working on CW this time.

Since PGI has the franchise to themselves, I have become cautiously optimistic . As long as the next few months look pretty good with some descent progress, I will be happy.
P.S. The rewards gesture was a nice and unexpected bonus, and I thank PGI for that.

Though I still expect massive negativity from the same places as before, for now I raise a glass with the white knights. I will never be as positive as you guy are, but damned if this isn't a good day not just for you, but for the playerbase as a whole.

There's still plenty of things that don't particularly flatter them though, and the 'white knights' who seem so proud of themselves should probably take note. The whole ridiculous reddit incident, and the fact they're basically spending resources to create what is basically a ripoff 'me too' IP to compete with Star Citizen, when they can't even do a proper job with MWO, is not something to be proud of.
Making good overtures should be encouraged, and the petty people who want to throw it back at PGI out of spite are wrong. But pretending this is a moment of vindication and that that the naysayers were wrong is as stupid.
At the end of the day, everyone, angry troll or most balanced poster, wants this game to get better and prosper. The sooner everyone stops with the arbitrary 'us vs them', naming people white knights, goons, trolls, the better it'll be for the environment in the forums, which have been crap for a long time.

This is a major issue for me. I'll never understand why folks can't finish one job before moving onto the next. The excuse was always lack of resources when lack of maps/CW was raised. How is putting your staff on another game going to improve things in terms of available resources?
You've been working on MWO for a couple of years now, guys, and it's not in a finished state. Even if the IP was new and fresh, that's not a track record that makes me want to jump on board for your next project. Had you given us something much more complete before announcing that you're moving on to the next big thing, you might get more enthusiasm from some of us. If I'm being honest, it actually worries me... if you're not happy with the level of support this game has gotten for the last year or so, how can you not be worried about splitting PGI's resources and the impact that'll have on this property?

Personally, I'm glad Reddit is gone. Never went there anyways and I only rarely go to FB and Twitter too. NGNG is slowly growing on me, but I still avoid it if possible.

If you'll indulge me: I used to live in a northern community. We had an air ambulance service because of our remote location and distance to major health care centres, but the provincial government at the time cut the service and we were forced to rely on a distant air ambulance service, increasing the wait time by hours in cases. About a month later, our premier visited and gave a talk about how her government had improved health care services in the area. I asked how the removal of services could possibly improve service to the area, or for that matter, do anything other than degrade the level of service. She couldn't give me a straight answer.
I have a feeling the same is true here. Why weren't 100% of PGI's "resources" dedicated to MWO? What were those programmers/designers/mapmakers/graphics experts/etc doing instead of working on MWO? Sitting on their hands? How can a small shop dedicating some of its programmers and design team to another project NOT negatively impact the level of service that MWO receives? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm asking for an honest and clear explanation. Like the politician in my anecdote, they might simply be spinning the facts, or lying outright.

Not at all.
Go make yourself a niv¡ce long negative QQ thread and whinge to your hearts content. I'm sure you can get a dozen or so posters to commiserate at your pity party.
Seems to speak more for the pathetic state of some peoples personal lives, or self esteem when they feel inexorably drawn to every positive thread, for the sole point of trying to piss in other people's cheerios, than it does for the "pathetic state of the game" one of your compatriots is trying to spin.
Making good, reasoned counter arguments and post is healthy, for the game and the community. You used to be good at that. Chasing after every thread to spread your personal gloom and doom spiel is not that. It's pretty much just bad trolling.
