And that requires you to have a 2nd account how? Nothing was stopping you from dropping on the same account as IS, all it's done is create an issue where now your not getting the King Crab.

It's not, it's a free IS mech for buying Legendary, Overlord or Masakari. 2 IS packs to 1 Clan

That's very strong, specific language and I really don't think PGI would be well-served to suggest that was "their position at the time" or dismiss that as marketing-speak at this juncture.

Great post. Most of us are indifferent if it's really the Phoenix pack. The thing is Clans just don't appeal to me (maybe the TB and Nova). I can purchase this clan pack to get in the king crab, but would be happier with an IS alternative.

Back when I tried to get my bro into MWO he didn't care for it and I inherited the account. Since then I've used it for Stock Mondays and derping around on IS mechs I never bothered to purchase. Slowly it has evolved into an exclusive IS/Stock account I'd like to keep "pure" with IS only mechs, but in order to get the "good" King Crab on it, I'd have to taint it with some sort of Clan mechs. Not gonna happen, hence this thread with the premise that IS purists should have some sort of package (or simply bring back the Phoenix one) so they don't have to have Clan mechs if they don't want to. Considering how dedicated PGI is to lore and the nature of pending Community Warfare its a very fair and reasonable request which several seem to support.

I don't discount the feelings portrayed in the OP. However PGI should look at giving the King Crab away when you buy the Top tier in Wave 2, you're looking at a little more money than Phoenix I think. I mean it feels good to be appreciated, I didn't invest in the founders program - I did invest in the clan package (not entirely), I've put quite a bit of money in here since its inception.

This would kinda be akin to me asking for Founders mechs about 9 months after the Founders mechs were released imho.

I think a better option would be to allow people who qualify for the free King Crab on a clan account to transfer it to they're IS only account, perhaps provide user name and password to support for each account.

I'm sure they could figure out some way to make It happen.

Sorry that you messed up and played your bros account instead of sticking with yours and not having this issue. Guess you'll be waiting for the King Crab to come out for C-bills, or hoping PGI puts out a new IS package for you that will let you grab it.

Also several people supporting the idea means nothing, I can find you anything about MWO on this forum with several people supporting the idea.. doesn't mean it was a good idea to begin with nor does it mean PGI was gonna give it a thought.

Should they also come out with a reward light/medium/heavy for people that only play those classes of mechs and won't be using the King Crab?

Let's be clear here, almost everything PGI does is in relation to marketing. That is their job. Whether it is building good will, retaining customers, or bringing in new ones.

I do agree there may be valid reasons for not going back on their terms (once again, marketing), but what if the bulk of the community was specifically in favor of it in this instance? I'm not saying it is the right thing to do, but I'm always interested in exploring options.

Seems like the only fair solution. That way you can buy Masakari collection on your clan account, get your King Crab and have support transfer the Mech to your other account. I would contact them ahead of time and make the proposal.

Other than that you can get the King Crab for C-Bills or MC and hope they release hero variant.

Digital goods are only limited as far as the parent company makes them. It's actually been pointed out by a few others before me.

So again, sorry you think Im de-railing your thread by pointing out your bad decision now biting you in the butt when you want the KC.

Nobody is asking for free stuff, in-fact this thread started with asking to purchase stuff we could already get for free via c-bills.

From my perspective his views are no more narrow minded than your own. Would making the Phoenix packs available again be good? Maybe, but what he is saying is true as well, and could in the long run hurt things more than they help things. Calling him an elitist or saying that he can't think for himself because he disagrees with your personal stance is rather petty and juvenile if I am to be honest with you.

I can understand your desire for an IS pack, and maybe they will come out with something that will allow you to receive this reward without having to buy Clan mechs. However, that being said I wouldn't care if they reopened sales for the Phoenix mechs, but I don't think they should do it because they said they wouldn't. Keeping ones word is important for some people.

One thing that i do reget is not buying the sabre pack since i really like the griffin mech I have bought it yet but i did feel like the medium would be viable but it turn out the shadow hawk is a blast to play.

Thye could come out and do a wave 2 phoenix and sup the unique mech for a champion or a hero mech version if they wanted to or do a alt pack such one of the other medium heavy light and assault. A example off the top of my head would be say
Light Commando or Spider, Medium Cicada, Kintaro,Trebuchet,, Heavy QuickDraw, Dragon, Assault Banshee,Victor
