More mechs available to everyone is a GREAT idea!

I also missed out on the saber pack and as a owner of every other package I need another chance to fix my mistake, and purchase said pack...

I would like to see every pack made available for new players and old players who have fallen back in love with the game. Even the Founder mechs, without the (F) tag. Give them a [R] tag for Redux or something.

As a proud owner of Phoenix (P) and Clan Invasion (I) mechs, I dont understand why anyone feels that they lose when others gain. Especially when the game is so old and you've already enjoyed your years of feeling like a special snowflake.

I'm happy to share unique geometry, camo patterns, limited edition colours, 30% C-bill bonuses and whatever else that PGI can sell to new players without taking resources away from the stuff we really want to see. It's much easier than forcing PGI to make more and more mechs, which slows down everything else.

This.

Any variation of the original Phoenix or Founders packs is bad because it lessens the value of those packs. They were limited release, and they're no longer available. Sorry.

But I could support the idea of creating a new "emergency IS pack" by slapping together 4 Heroes with 2 variants of each and making it available. They've already sold most (if not all) of the Heroes for 50% off at various times, so selling them in a pack seems like it should work. Note: nothing new here - no badges, no Premium time, no titles - just a pack of existing Mechs for $120 (or whatever is appropriate) that would qualify for the King Crab gift Mech.

Might as well mine their existing data while they're at it... make it the Hero and then the 2 least used variants of that chassis. Less likely to conflict with what people already own that way.

This sounds like a good plan but I would include the same premium time bonus levels as in the Clan Man-o-war pack.

4 heroes ... 2 variants of each + premium time as appropriate to level. The top tier at $120.00 would qualify for the the top-tier purchase bonus. They could call it an IS reinforcement pack as a response to the clan invasion.

Each level could be available a la carte as well but these would not qualify for the top tier bonus.

Depending on how much they want revenue ... they could set the IS reinforcement pack up to be the players choice of 1 each of light, medium, heavy and assault heroes with 2 variants for each ... this would allow each player to custom choose 4 hero mechs and would be much less likely to conflict with previous purchases. I think that there are now actually enough hero mechs in each weight class to support such a pack.

No just no.. seriously your not getting a free gift for something because you for some reason you couldn't/didn't purchase a top tier package.

This isn't the only KC we will ever see, it's just a hero version of the basic model

I keep seeing this "Im IS purist I don't wanna buy clan mechs to get a KC" well what about Clan purists getting the KC? Should we now gift them a Kodiak or something? (the answer is no btw it's free damnit!)

This I'm here now I want it and it's not fair I can't get it attitude needs to go.. I swear this is why companies don't give away free stuff to customers..

I really want a Dawn bobblehead but I missed the boat, it sucks but I didn't stomp my feet, demanding nvidia give me one even though I've always used their products.. missed the offer

edit: oh and btw your still getting a free Atlas for buying a package, your not getting shat on

Personally I never understood the whole "I bought some package at some time so I should get extra stuff that nobody else can" idea. Especially when you consider that it is entirely possible to have spent more money in this game than somebody that has one of those packages without even buying a package. You could actually spend hundreds of dollars probably well over a thousand in this game without actually buying a package.

Which is why I still say when PGI does throw out these free rewards they should simply base it on money spent. And it should be a ongoing thing kind of like achievement rewards but with MC, mechs, special mechs, and mechbays as rewards.

So if they are going to just offer the Phoenix pack again, why not let everyone get a founders pack that missed out on that opportunity.

I am not for them offering limited time packages to people again,

You want a Response pack, then come up with a new one.

Why should it be my problem you missed out on something by choosing to not participate in the event when it was offered. Only for you to see that they are giving away free mechs that you now all of a sudden want.

You want the King Crab, then go spend $240 or $120 on one of the current top tier packages.

OK I had quite a few posts I was going to reply to, but due to the craptastic forum software not working with IE those got lost (long story why I was running IE).

I have already stated quite vocally my position to those that have not seen it read this
http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__3732700

The (F) and (P) are unique, do you go around telling Microsoft, and Activision that oh hey I missed the special edition of [insert game name here] because I had no idea about the game and missed out on the [insert uber cool edition name here] give me! Give me a freaking break folks! These threads started as soon as the rewards were announced, way to coincidental for my liking. Do I sound like some Elitist? Sure because I bought stuff that was a limited time deal usually the day they were available for pre-order and it was all site unseen and the game at some points was well in a really rough state for some. I worked hard to get the stuff and now you want it after the fact? No!

All this because of a few (C) Champion `Mechs not even (H) Hero `Mechs are being gifted to the supporters. So pull your heads out of your arse and deal with it. If I am sounding like I am at wits end it is because I am with these threads, pure painful to see. The level of entitlement by the folks that missed out has hit my only feeling (yes one, the others died a long time ago because of work).

TL:DR;
For whatever reasons you missed out or did not want to support the game, you do not get to go back in time and get something that we got now.

If I understand your runtime correctly that is a no lol :)

Ninja Edit
If they want to release another totally different pack, sure but not now. Having two major packs for sale leaves out the folks who would like to have both (I know I would, but can only grab one and it would be the Clans, yes I am a Clansmen and do like some of the IS chassis). I would like to see the Warhammer, Crusader, Archer, etc.

I got no problems with making the phoenix packs available again. They are mostly good mechs and as a pack it was a whole lot of value.

Instead of them re-releasing the old Phoenix Pack, why not just release a Wave 2 of the Phoenix pack?

All PGI did was pick 6 mechs from the Phoenix Project redesigns and add them to the game.

I'd like to see:

-Valkyrie (another 30 tonner)
-- VLK-QA
-- VLK-QF
-- VLK-QD

-Phoenix Hawk (would actually give us a fast 45 tonner)
-- PXH-1
-- PXH-1D
-- PXH-2

-Rifleman (has potential to be the first good IS 60 tonner)
-- RFL-3N
-- RFL-4D
-- RFL-5D

-Warhammer (would give us another 70 tonner to tinker with)
-- WHM-6R
-- WHM-6K
-- WHM-6L
-- WHM-7K

-Archer (would give us a missile heavy 70 tonner)
-- ARC-2R
-- ARC-2S
-- ARC-4M
-- ARC-5R

-Marauder (Would give us a potentially good IS 75 tonner)
-- MAD-3R
-- MAD-3D
-- MAD-3M

-Longbow (give us another 85 tonner to play with, would be an even better LRM boat than the Stalker)
-- LGB-7Q
-- LGB-7V
-- LGB-0W

I would be fine with the Phoenix pack being re-released, but without the (p) designation, colors, camo, and unique geometry.

Leave the Founder's pack out.

except most (all?) of those are Harmony Gold, which PGI won't touch with a 10 foot pole, tied to another 10 foot pole, from behind bulletproof glass with hazmat suits on.

ok, so, they don't want to buy clan mechs... they are asking for a IS pack to be next.
if they want the KC bad enough, they'll bite the bullet and buy the clans, if not they won't
(they have until dec. for the people that are saying no not right now, at least for the IS pack or whatever to qualify for a KC)

personally, i want an IS pack, something that feels special, not just some re-hash. i missed the previous IS packs, and don't really care for the clan stuff. and i really don't want the free KC for it either. ill take it, but thats not why i would like a new IS pack, it was sort of the thought that i think got this train rolling.

alot of us are just saying we want an IS pack(using project phoenix and founders is probably a bad idea, but the concept for that was that it would be simple to turn back on an old sale, rather than putting a new one together)

try to see it where the other side comes from instead of just rage-monstering at them.
(*gets flameproof suit ready*)

Harmony Gold doesn't own the rights to the names, just the original likenesses of the mechs. PGI pretty much redesigned the image of every mech they have released. They can do the same with the unseen and HG wouldn't have a leg to stand on.

In addition they're all re-imagined with the newer TROs and so forth. I'm a big fan of a lot of the reseen artwork.

Except the new Warhammer.

After giving it some thought I think having the Phoenix pack come back has the potential to make people rightfully mad.

Either make a new bundle of IS mechs or us non clan lovers will have to suck it up and get a clan wave.

HG revs up their lawyers every time they hear the word Warhammer or Marauder used in reference to a robot.

Besides, in order for there to be no legal problems, they would have to change the mechs so much that they would have nothing in common with the originals except the name. Why not just make new mechs at that point?

For one, we have clan packs running already, with one due to be released......(looks at watch, scratches head..eh, soon?) Do not kid yourself - this entire thing started with the butt hurt of those that do not qualify for the King Crab gift....period.

Because...

- I chose to spend all my monies on MC..
- I am an IS purist, that has no IS packs to buy..
- I missed IS packs...
- I did not have any money at the time...

Now all of the sudden PGI must stop and provide a means for me to get an IS Pack of mechs.
