Don't get all excited about the Hellbringer and ECM. The Hellbringer is notable for having default paper thin armor, and doesn't have any weight saving Endo Steel or FF armor either.
Armor can be upped of course, but that won't leave a lot of pod space.
On the other hand, it doesn't have 5 tons of jump jets that you cannot take out, so there is that.
And in case anybody is blind the Hellbringer hero mech has "Hiddleston" written below the cockpit in homage to both Marvel Comics and the fact that the IS name for the mech is "Loki".
Besides, the Hellbringer is the Clan Warhammer by another name. They just moved the MG's to the right side and the energy weapons to the left, and mushed the two small lasers into a single, 3rd medium laser.
The Hellbringer won't have an issue with Pod Space. It starts with 320 armor which means it looks like PGI deleted the A-pods and used that weight for armor. This however still leaves 26.5 tons of pod space available. ECM takes up 1 ton so your left with over 25 tons for armor weapons and DHS. That is plenty.
The only possible issue I see is if PGI decides to "fix" the ECM, Active Probe and TC to the chassis as that is potentially alot of wasted tonnage as I would rather strip the Active probe and TC and add in extra DHS. However, they aren't fixed in the TRO so if PGI stays true to lore we should be able to strip this stuff out. Still even if you do fix all that to the chassis, you would still have 21.5 tons for weapons and DHS. Drop in 2 C-ER LL, 3 C-ER ML and maybe a SRM6 with a couple tons of ammo and you still have enough pod space to add 7 DHS bringing your total up to 20. Drop the DHS count down to 19 and your at max armor which I believe is 352 for a 65 ton mech. That isn't a bad amount of armor and firepower for a mech that runs at 89 kph while under cover of constant ECM.
In any case, really can't wait until Smufy's gets these mechs up on their site. I can kind of manually build them out but it is hard to visualize DPS and heat without seeing it on a sight like Smurfy's.

That Mad dog is going to MURDER so many people
The A Variant is pretty much good to go right out of the gate.
*GIGGLE*
Though if I am being honest, I am most looking forward to the koshi and fenris. ECM arm doesn't bother me as you can still run a x2 srm6's and a medium. Very commando.
I think there is a very good chance that the Mad Dog will be substandard despite the potential of its hard point configurations. Its shape means it is going to likely either have a very vulnerable CT or extremely vulnerable STs and its tiny arms aren't going to be able to protect squat. Based on the shape, I think the Mad Dog is going to be very easy to kill or cripple.
As far as the Koshi, I am not seeing it being all that great. For an ECM mech, the Spider is hands down better offering near the same firepower in a much faster package and without ECM well it is a 25 ton mech which is going to be outclassed most of the 35 tonners out there.
Fenris looks to be a bit better but if I had to be honest, when clan weapons being so hot, I think any decent amount of firepower is going to make it too hot to really be effective and while mounting that huge 360XL you just don't have the pod space to offset the heat with DHS. Still I am really going to have to build it out on Smurfy's and see it in action to make a real judgement call as I can kinda see some rough potential (that same 360XL is going to make it agile as hell for example).
