The Koshi seems pretty badass to me. People are slamming it because it gets bad hardpoints with ECM. Well dont use ECM with it? Jenners/Firestarters dont use ECM and theyre fine.

The Koshi is the winner of this pack IMO. The losers are the Hellbringer and Gladiator. Hellbringer because it doesnt have FF or ES. And the Gladiator because its a troll mech if ever there was one.

Anyways. Disappointing choices of alternate variants aside, my Ferrets and I will be rekking scheiss in high style come whenever-this-crap-releases. By that point I believe I will have melted all the Dire Whales I need to with my SplatDog anyways and will be ready to go back to my high speed striker/harasser roots. Even if the Viper would still have been a much better choice. Sadness...

I, too, am an avid striker. It'll be interesting to see how it performs when compared to the Crow. I'm guessing the hitboxes will be the big decider, as that speed... is just awesome.

Out of all the mechs, this one intrigues me the most.

CUAC20 or CLBX20 + 4 to 6 ERML, or even ERSL.... Assault striker/brawler. Similar to my best performing mech loadout ever... 9B with ac20 and 2xLL and full JJ.

Yeah I'm going to get some run out of the Gargoyle. Might be the first Assault mech I elite.

Is a 2x LB10X build at all viable? I'm terrible at theorycrafting MWO builds in my head.

It's kilometers/hour. Kilo x meters x hour is a different metric, and is what we use to describe the theoretical maximum speeds of fat people, (or 'fatties' in Australian slang) on foot, foraging in their house for food.

Can i use this theoretical speed to describe the speed of an Atlas or Whale? (and a old ex)

Hellbringer has 256 armor. And 384 is really the bare minimum armor want on a 65 ton mech. So you need to add 4 tons of armor.

After adding armor back on, the Hellbringer's 28.5 tons of pod space goes down to 24.5. And 23.5 after ECM.

The worst part is if the Hellbringer had FF and Endo it would have all that pod space back again.

PGI removed AA pods and used that weight to add more armor.

To be fair, Jenners and Firestarters can go faster than 120ish kph with speed tweak, which will be what the Mist Lynx is limited to.

Thanks, you gave my second, proper belly laugh of the day. The first when I just watched this again, I was going to post it to help you with Australian Slang:

I'm tending to agree with you, though my inner stubborn streak is telling me I can do well in the Gargoyle, because I used to do well in the Awesome.

I may be in for disappointment.

With the Phoenix pack everyone was singing the BM and Thud's praises before they came out.
No one expected much of the Shadowhawk because it was only a medium

I was looking forward to the Shawk, because I like medium mechs.

Turns out, it is my least favorite of the Phoenix set (hate the cockpit >.< )

I am looking forward to the Gargoyle, so it may very well be competitive.

So what is the future of the Man O'War , that pore thing is such a bad idea when compared to the perfection that is the timberwolf and 5 tons under, it's as fast, more armored , can't jump, and much less weapons. It's the awsome of the clans.... only some god level quirks might save it.
Also I found that the summoner now with it's prime arms quirks for 10% cooldown reduction and weapon cooldown modules is not a bad idea...

I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Don't imagine the mech alone. Imagine 3 of them. Right next to 3 Timberwolves. Because they all move at the same friggan' speed: 89.1 KPH.

The future of this game is going to be an entire team of 12 cruising at that speed, and that's going to rock the house.

The mist lynx has way too much fixed equipment to make it viable. 6 jj's fixed across the entire mech, and a bap... At stock its only 3.5 tons of armor. At least free up a little so I can squeeze max armor in there without eating into the already small pod space.

Dislike term "viable". Viable for what? HAs potential to be a great NARC/Spotter

Yes but the Koshi also has FF and ES. And because its engine isnt maxed it gets lots of space for weapons. It will be VERY well armed for its tonnage. x3 SRM6s on a 25 ton mech? Thats crazy! And it has tonnage leftover for lasers. The Koshi is like a super Commando 2D.

And when players abuse blitzing it will just get nerfed. So dont count on it staying that way. Besides Heavies and Assaults are bound to lose speed tweak when the skill trees get redone.

The Hellbringer has perked my interest. I especially like the Prime variant. High mounted energy and ballistic hardpoints on the torsos? Yes please.

I definitely hope it works out. Maybe it'll have some nice hitboxes/scaling (and while I'm at it, I'm hoping the Ice Ferret does as well).

Hopefully the ballistic is high mounted, like the Summoner D's torso hardpoints. That's partially why I prefer the Summoner to the TWolf. Just barely peeking over hills with the ability to fire a UAC20 is vicious.

The Koochi is going to have 6.5 tons of pod space when it maxes out its armor. 3 SRM6 weighs 4.5 tons. You get 1 ton of ammo and 1 ERML, or 2 tons of ammo and no ERML. Lel.

On the Gargoyle by mixing and matching components, you should be able to run something super simple like 8xcERMLs with full armor and 26+ DHS with perhaps a targeting computer tossed in. That's not far off from a 6LL Stalker, with no ghost heat if you stagger your fire groups. At 89kph, I'm reasonably certain you'll have players that can make that work.

The implication there is pure fallacy as the metric system was used widely by scientific and engineering communities during the space race era. America's insistence on the imperial system of measures is irrational hog twaddle.

Doubtful if you want enough ammo to back them up and/or support weapons. Plus that thing is going to need a few tons more armor added back onto it.
