King Crab - Bringing Back Phoenix Or Founders

Although, I dunno why people are freaking out over this. The King Crab given to buyers of those packs isn't any different than one of the (F), (P), (I), or (G) mechs. That is, it's just a normal variant with a C-Bill boost and draped in a different paintjob. The functionality is basically the same. You'll be able to get Crabs for C-Bills normally, you just wouldn't get the money boost or fancy skin.

And inevitably, probably beginning of January, they will release the Hero King Crab. Which will give the 30% bonus. And quite likely, more useful hardpoints (though admittedly they could do something awful like stuff PPCs in the arms......)
Hopefully it will be "King" Hopper Morrisons KGC, not some boring Lyran General's.

There are plenty of other threads to complain about Loyalty points - this isn't one of them. Loyalty points require CW, which is coming later this year. This thread is about people who want a new IS pack, if you don't want one don't buy it.
The King Crab is available to anyone who bought one of the following:
Legendary Founder - $120
Phoenix Overlord - $80
Masakari - $240
Man-O-War - $120.
Notice that there hasn't been an IS mech pack for a nearly year - selling a new IS mech pack isn't unfair in any way and has nothing to do with the Mad Dog. A new IS mech pack allows people who missed the first two opportunities and don't want to buy Clan mechs to get the Top Tier Reward (King Crab) which only takes one Top Tier Purchase. That's it.
Mad Dog takes Two Top Tier purchases - and that is an entirely different discussion that also belongs in a different thread.
You seem to have missed the mechs released inbetween those packs, but as you point out there have been 3 IS mech packs, founders, Pheonix and Reinforcement pack (although the last one is not included in the KC deal?)
There have currently been 2 clan packs, most of which haven't been released for cbills yet.
You think it's fair to charge $360 for one free mech and $120 for another? which I BELIEVE is relevant to this thread, because the overriding topic is about the free mech drawing comparisons between the two free mechs would seem relevant.
You'll also notice the part you snipped included a second option offering another IS mech pack.

Also, the lack of any Phoenix Badge would probably point to lack of Phoenix Pack....now true he might have refunded it, but then, he is waiting on .....nothing? LP Points, like Name in Credits, were a very specific "when ready" part of the package.
One can be upset that CW is taking so long. But since the delivery of the LP use is dependant on CW, QQing about that specific? Naw. CD called it.
Since it appears you are simply trolling people who are not anti-PGI, should I keep the trend up and report you?
Your right i missed that part in the original quote, however as to LP it hasn't been delivered and yes it depends on CW but at the time that was not supposed to be far away (but that's another topic we don't need to rehash) he hasn't been unfactual in what he says about the LP.
So pointing out CD broke CoC by calling him a **** is trolling now? or is that just you opinion because he is pro pgi?
You may report if you wish, but my point stands as does the report. Im sure Bishop you have posted multiple times in other threads infractions of CoC should be punished.
But we are digressing off topic, as you usually take things to heart. So lets stick to the topic of the mech packs and free mech scenarios

There's been stumbles in the past, but honestly, now they've seperated from IGP, they're doing things right.
Communicating with the community, taking and responding to feedback, a rewards scheme, and detailing what's going on.
As well as a solid release schedule and regular sales.
The real question is, will they deliver CW when they said (or at least close enough to), and things keep progressing nicely, s'all good.
If I didn't think they could pull it off, I wouldn't have invested more in the game with Wave 2.
- Also, for those saying about lack of IS releases, this is the total list so far:
31 IS Chasis.
13 Clan Chasis.

The IS mechs released outside of a Mech pack don't have any bearing on a Top Tier Reward, so no I didn't miss them they are irrelevant to the discussion. And Saber was an extension of Phoenix, it doesn't apply either since it doesn't count for the reward.
This thread is about creating an IS Top Tier Reward pack - so whether Mad Dog requires one, two, or 10 Top tier is completely irrelevant to this thread. Mad Dog is a discussion about Clan Mech pack reward requiring two Top Tier purchases- and there are other threads that are discussing it. It's completely OT here.
If you don't want a new IS mech pack - fine. Many others do, please don't side track the discussion, which has been pretty focused on the topic for 24 pages, when there are other threads to discuss your issue with the Mad Dog.

Sorry i think you missed my point.
It isn't about wanting or not wanting an IS mech pack, by all means have one.
It's about making the same deals, same options available at the same cost for everyone.

Giving rewards will always be a contentious issue but at least we are having a dialog on this.
Also seeing the IS vs Clan community become this entrenched is great, but let us stay constructive and civil on this shall we?

I do not care if they re-open the Founders or Phoenix programs and with all the vanity perks that come with them...there's waaaay too many people that just want to feel special.

If this is all about one King Crab variant that we don't even know anything about, just make it available for purchase separately.

I like this idea...
Upsides: minimum programming effort; generates income; makes people happy.
Downsides: Does not correspond to the "good faith gesture" associated with a customer pre-purchasing material.
That's the only snag I see... those of us who pre-purchased packages were getting unknown content out of good faith; MC purchases are anything you want them to be. They don't carry the same level of loyalty.

This new pack, if it occurs, should focus on weight classes that are underrepresented. The 20, 25, 40, 70, 75, and 90 weights only have one chassis (I am not counting 95 since I don't believe there is an available choice) making them the obvious choice as I see it.
My choices for the pack would be:
Light: Mongoose or Javelin
Medium: Assassin (one with three 6 tube missile slots please)
Heavy: Grasshopper or Guillotine
Assault: Cyclops
I believe that the Mongoose, Assassin, Guillotine, and Cyclops would all be capable of an SLDF themed package which would probably sell a ton just for the paint job. You could set it up that a recently discovered Castle Brian was involved.
I would certainly buy into at least some level of any new Inner Sphere package, if for no other reason than to show my support for this game and the way community interaction has been handled lately. If the Assassin is included there is no way that I could stop myself(I've been wanting one for a while).
Thank you Russ for being so understanding and magnanimous about this issue, that you would even consider this solely to help people feel that they are role playing their characters properly is amazing.

BECAUSE BOTH WERE ADVERTISED AS LIMITED AND EXCLUSIVE!
edit: however so was my 3050 hologram cockpit item, until it was given away in a challenge! Glad my "happy new year 3050" still is exclusive. For the time being.
