Ok, just wondering, are matches going to be like missions, will they have any story? or is it just going to be mech after mech fighting?

I like nothing better than a lot of random mech kiling to get the day started
But after a while I hope to have some type of "campiagn", community I think will cover this

Tactics in PUGs will slowly evol as those not in clans get killed so much that their Atlas has to be shelved till they learn what to do

Hopefully smaller mechs willake enough each time to repair themselves (barely)
To make you want to learn how to play as a team
If I walk out and make enough in an Atlas to repair it each time this game will die in short order as every kid will walk out in assualts and ruin the game as they Zerg rush out and die to those that use tactics

The Devs will have to balance play and rewards or they can kill this game in short order
From the looks of it so far they want everyone that wants to actually play (and not zeg rush) to have fun and make it fun for all
I lose money some games in WoT but useually it is bad luck or Zerg players on my team
I have lost matches and made money well over my repair bills because several on my team rushed out and a few of us stayed well hindden and killed enough of them to make money before losing
I have also killed 12 tanks (7 after everyone else was dead) to win the game because I knew the correct tactics
I have lost in similar game because the enemy knew how to counter what I did

This game will be more skill and tactics than WoT

One thing to be prepared for since this game is free to play I don't know how much tactics are actually going to be used. You have to figure since the game is f2p all of kids just like wot are going to be here , and only tactic they seem to use is the good old zerg rush.So be prepared to have some frustration in battles when your side is loaded with suicide rushers.

PVP matches only, no PVE. I guess the website may provide some lore story type stuff? But nothing in game has been announced?

It will happen and they will quickly leave when they are stuck on their butts for the remainder of the match for several in a row (hoping they DONT allow you to just leave till the game has come to full conclusion) or cant repair their atlas cause the rushed right into 6 medium/lights by themselves thinking it's WoT and that they don't take damage from all those small weapons.

KK, getcha,
Would be awsome if this game evolved into a mech2 mercs style contract database  , never forget the sound of "connecting to comstar contract database"
I do belove some missions need to be in any mmorpg, otherwise its just gonna be mech death match.

Ya but if they have more than one mech in the garage can't they just leave their destroyed mech and go get into another one and another battle just like wot?

I would say no initially, because any NPC not being piloted by the Devs personally would need AI control, which hasn't even been brought up once.

*A* possibility is a sort of meta-game campaign, which has been touched on I'm sure somewhere, which (for one example) gives the Devs the opportunity to "be" the clans as they encroach upon the IS, at least in the early stages before it's a faction opened up to all players.

We know the game universe will have worlds we can fight over, and key worlds will be Dev-held, so it gives them the opportunity to "open up" that world for a time to allow players to try & defend against Dev-piloted Clan mechs for instance.

In this way, you could play out the clan invasion with us players having to battle NPC mechs, but without the horribleness of AI-controlled NPCs in a multiplayer game and would provide a lovely bit of campaign play which I think would suit this game perfectly.

the story is: you are at "War for territory" (great song  ) and canonly spoken: most ppl think that the battles nowadays are not more than random fights with not much impact for the actual sucess of a house .. there you have it
