Maybe something to reduce jamming. It could help IS mechs be a little more competitive with clan ballistics. just saying....

Was thinking same yesterday. Maybe I'm not using them correctly, but they always seem to insta-jam on me after 1 shot. Occasionally I get off a lucky second round. Seems like the perfect thing to fit into their improvement modules.

The IS UAC 5 outclasses the Clan UAC 2 and Clan UAC 5.

It's probably roughly equal to, and in many ways better than, the Clan UAC 10.

IS UAC 5 values are on the left side for both lists.

Advantages for the IS UAC 5
  • Range: 600m vs. 500m = Advantage IS UAC 5
  • Max Range: 1200m vs. 1000m = Advantage IS UAC 5
  • Speed: 1100m/s vs. 950m/s = Advantage IS UAC 5
  • Weight: 9 Tons vs. 10 Tons = Advantage IS UAC 5
  • Front Loaded Damage: 5 vs. 2.5 = Advantage IS UAC 5
  • Unjam Time: 5s + Half CD Cycle [Total 5.83s] vs. 5s + Full CD Cycle [Total 7.5s] = Advantage IS UAC 5

Advantages for the CUAC 10
  • Slots: 5 Slots vs. 4 Slots = Advantage CUAC 10
  • Base DPS: 3 DPS vs. 4 DPS = Advantage CUAC 10
  • Single "click" total potential output: 5 damage vs. 10 damage = Advantage CUAC 10

It got delayed to October 7th. So far, they claim that only the AC/2 and UAC/2 will be excluded (didn't mention the C-AC/2 or LB 2-X).

The IS-U/AC5 is a very good AC that does much DPS for a low jam chance - when you have harsh payload restrictions the IS-U/AC5 is the best AC - though that does not disqualify the Weapon for some useful Module.

Quite a few wrong numbers herein - i dont have Clan-Mechs but i know (PTS) that the C-UAC5 is lighter and imho it does shot 3 rounds.
Someone with access to Clantech may correct the wrong values that were posted pls.

PS: You could get the feeling the Goons be back...

Well, that does it only make more bad as then you took numbers out of context to generate an artificial proof for something non existant by mixing and matching numbers that be incomaprable.

You dont make a Banana straight showing an Apple thrown at a rotten Tomato can smash it.

I donno, comparing a UAC5, to a UAC10, and the 5 winning out in basically every way possible but damage... eh.

This doesnt make much since to me isnt that true of all AC ballistics? smaller = faster/better everything but damage?

Personally, I'd like a module for the UAC5 that either, A. Shortens the duration of a jam, allowing the mechanism to begin firing sooner ('S.P.O.R.T.S.' Module), B. Cuts the frequency at which jams occur by lowering the percentage substantially (Improved Feed System), or, C. Eliminates the required 'cool down' after the jam cycle abates (Open Bolt Operation). Any of these options would be an improvement.

IS UAC5 is in a good place IMO.
All UAC jam a little too much.

I would still very much like to see a GhostJamming system setup for UAC boaters.

Single weapons getting a reduction on jams, and any additional UAC's would up the jam #'s
