guess PGI will have to flip the coin to see if the Cyclops gets ECM, if it does it would be a no brainer to get another assault with the magic box weee!, if not a Zeus X for me. Posted Image

Well if I didn't already know that PGI would nerf the crap out of the Charger mobility ala Victor and if JJs, especially Assault class JJs were just crap now, I would have voted Charger. Honestly it probably has the best hard points though its model is a little bland.

However that being the case I chose the Cyclops for a couple reasons. One, it has a very unique look and right now we are lacking unique looks. Two, I just like the hard point option better that the Zeus. Honestly hate arm mounted missiles.

Now its not part of the poll but would I would have liked to see is the Thug mostly because since I first looked at a TRO, I have alway through it was about the coolest looking mech in the game.

I voted for the Zeus, but the Cyclops would come in first if you found a way to implement the C3 Computer for Inner Sphere Mech's (CP-11-C).

It's a shame I didn't get in on this poll earlier.

The cyclops is essentially a smaller Atlas with far less armor and doesn't bring anything new to the battlefield or the MWO game at all. In tabletop it's low BV (Battle Value) means it can shore up a few points here and there to balance out a lance but I see no place for it in the game.

The Zeus and Charger both share the same emphasis on close combat which isn't an option in MWO. The Zeus however has less firepower and the same play style as other assault mechs allready available in MWO.

This really leaves one choice, and it's the losing mech in the poll by a wide margin which saddens me. The Charger seems the obvious mech to include in MWO as it adds an entirely new way of piloting an assault. Faster than almost every heavy and the only one available above 60 tons (Dragon aside) that can chase down a clan mech. Sure, it's base variant is a few small lasers but don't underestimate the power of those little red beams. Keep in mind you have 80 tons to play with those hardpoints.

I personally believe that the Charger is only mech out of these three to bring anything new, different and exciting to the MWO battlefields. Having an 80 ton energy dependent monster screaming around the landscape at speeds of 97kph (speed tweaked) actually gets me excited.

Perhaps I'm just some kind of masochist, but I like the Charger. Yes, it's quirky as hell in TT, but that means it could have some very interesting potential in MWO.

I understand peoples' reluctance towards it, but I'm all for it. That's not to say the Cyclops and Zeus aren't great, because they really are. Just, I dunno. I'd love to see the Charger get a chance to shine.

Charger will top out at 89 kph with speed tweak, not 97....

Also, Cyclops is a 90t mech that can fit a large engine (The only 90 tonner we have now is the HGN), and its slimmer profile then an Atlas means it may be XL friendly which could mean a very fun mech. A lighter, faster Atlas essentially. Also might include an ECM variant.

Every other post is asking about the Mauler and Annihilator..

again... I can suggest what I want MORE than these three AFTER I vote can I not? Again, please dont tell me what I can and cannot suggest, thank you

I mean so long as you vote, whats it matter we say afterwards other than showing PGI that the Mauler and Annihilator may be more wanted than these three?

Never at any point said otherwise. Calm down..

That's the stock loadout. In MWO, we could customize the crap out of it to even 4 PPCs + 1 ML if we were crazy enough.

The stock default variant does, because it has good armor and huge non XL engine.

The other variants offer much more variety, you have the 1A9 which is slightly slower but along with lasers it packs LRM rack and jump jets, and then you have the 1A5 which again is slower than stock but packs missiles, energy and torso mounted ballistic slots.

People are focusing the 5 SL and lack of physical damage, but the Charger is the only one of the three 'Mechs we're voting on that offers real significant differences among its variants rather forcing hard point inflation to invent differences that still leave the Zeus and Cyclops variants all boring and similar.

Hard choice for me between Zeus and Cyclops. Not a fan of the Charger. Just too weak of a mech. I ended up voting Zeus just because of the mix of speed and weapon loadouts. then again we already have the Victor which is similar in my mind (a little faster and can jump).

87kph + 10% (8.7) = 96, rounded up. Still my estimate was 2kph too high but that's close enough to call it a 100 mech if you ask me.

Good point on the cyclops, but I still disagree. If you stick a heavy weapon, especially a ballistic in a side torso then there is no such thing as XL friendly, especially in an assault that would need to sacrifice nearly everything to reach 60+kph. Lighter Atlas is true, unfortunately I don't think you grasp how light. It has just over half the armor, half! In a 90 ton stompy death machine you're going to want a lot more than 10 tons of shielding covering your soft bits.

As for ECM, I currently don't see a need for more ECM on the field. There's plenty of that to go around. I feel that it fits the "cookie cutter" variants of almost every assault mech I see these days, the creativity and lack of originality in most builds is getting depressing. Examples: "Oh look, another assault mech using nothing but his LRMs" or "That's a shame, another heavy pop-tarting a gauss/ppc build".

The Charger would literally change the battlefield. Something to make those LRM artillery builds keep checking their backs every few seconds. I for one would love to see one of these things chasing down an ECM kitfox while the poor clan pilots screams for help and there's very few people out there more pro-clan than me.

Your numbers are still off.

MWO's speed formula goes like this:

Engine rating / mech tonnage x 16.2 = Default speed
Default speed x 1.1 = Speed tweaked speed

So, for the Charger:
400 / 80 x 16.2 = 5 x 16.2 = 81 kph
81 kph x 1.1 = 89.1 kph after speed tweak

We can confirm this by plopping in an XL400 into either a Pretty Baby or Dragon Slayer, which are both 80 tons like the Charger is:

Yep. And not only that, but they want you to believe that the 90% of people that voted against 3PV should be taken as gospel. ;)
