Why so many people voting for a mech with GIANT shoulder pads saying "Shoot me here you can't miss! Take out a torso and get an arm for free! Components on fire sale!" Sheesh

Only mech I see here that is at all different is Charger... give it some love!

It really should be the Zeus.

I can't fathom why you are even considering the Charger. The Hatamoto-Chi would be a far better addition at 80 tons.

I really want another assault mech that has ECM. Not that I'm an assault pilot, but the DDC has gotten old, and the fast mechs like to leave the pack with their ECM a lot (yes, I'm guilty too). :)

That is going to cut out almost the entirety of the latter Kurita designs. : \

I find myself drawn to the Charger. Each of the variants are so different from each other, which I think will grant it longevity in the game. The other two suffer from the same thing that plagues all of the other IS assault 'mechs, that the variants of each chassis are far too similar. Furthermore, the Zeus (as much as I love it) and Cyclops are basically bigger Orion.

There's a level of difference in the Charger variants not seen in any weight class for a long, long while.

Well, lack of Melee does that anyhow...but really.... is that entirely a BAD thing?

Sword toting mechs are possibly the dumbest thing that the 90s anime movement migrated to Battletech. At least previous melee was brute clumsiness because of tech necessity.

I just wanted the Hatamoto to make a heavier Warhammer/Thug. The Charger doesn't have the SRM options and the energy hardpoints are all on the fist are they not?

To me it would what the Victor used to be sans jump jets.

I voted for the Cyclops and have a question for the devs: Is it possible that the Cyclops will come with enhanced sensors like in MechCommander 2? Frankly, I am loving the quirk system that has been implemented and would like to see the advent of Mechs with positive sensory quirks like the Cyclops and the Phoenix Hawk.

Also, any chance that we might see the venerable Devastator at some point? It has three variants listed on Sarna, although, admittedly, one does incorporate MASC...

Thank you for posting up the poll! :)

dunno if the Charger will be a good mech or not. but its an interesting one which has 6 different variants in the timeline. I would like to see it in the game.

Didn't say it wasn't - but that does leave the Kurita players out on a limb later, which is something to consider for the future of CW.

I feel ya, though actually, one of the Liao CGR variants does pack 2 SRMs. It is not the perfect THUG analog, but then, if I want a THUG, I want to figure out how to get a real Thug.

I would be curious to see how far Alex would have to stretch it though to make a Hatamoto that visually actually fit with the MWO look.

I fell in love with the Cyclops because of Mechcommander 2. ECM + LRMs + Gauss Rifle made it so fun to sneak around and snipe. Too bad the ECM isn't canon, but the rules can be bent since it's meant to be a command mech. It should get a sensor range boost as a quirk.

Bring it to MWO, Russ.

p.s. - I'd also love to see what Alex Iglesias can do with such a uniquely designed mech.

Nope, energy hardpoints on the CGR-1A1 are RA, RT, LT, LA, HD.

The CGR-1A5 has RT AC/20, 2 SRM-6 LT, MLas CT, SLas HD.

The CGR-1A9 has MLas RA, RT, LT, LA, LRM-20 RT, and four JJ in the legs (the CGR-3K is similar but with a larger XL engine and MPLas and Artemis.)

It's true; only the Lyran Military-Industrial bureaucracy could bloat a fire-support heavy loadout into the assault class...

I voted for the Zeus because, well, it has always been one of my favorite 'mechs. However, when the Cyclops does get introduced into the game it would only make sense that it has enhanced sensor capabilities.
