Dear PGI,

I rarely visit your cockpit as decorating the inside of my BattleMech has never appealed to me. In-fact I have only visited twice in 2 years. Today I went to take a look at this so called "cupcake standing cockpit item" given away as part of the "1 year customer appreciate program". I LOL'd hard at the "CLAPPING SURAT". However I also noticed the number of "50CAL NECKLACE" that I own is listed as 0. This is about the only cockpit item I have ever liked and I recall using it some time long ago on some 'mech so I'm sure I owned it at one point. Then it occurred to me that perhaps I do still have it and it is just listed as "0 owned" because it is equipped. So I equipped "COCONUT MONKEY" to my Cicada 3M and sure enough the "owned" goes to 0.

Please reconsider your definition of "owned". I own 1 "COCONUT MONKEY" irrespective of whether it is equipped on some 'mech. At the very least I have a licence to use it. I should be able to equip it to any 'mech from the cockpit screen (thereby unequipping it from any 'mech it may be equipped on). Can you equip cockpit items? Perhaps the buttons should read "Stand", "Hang" and "Mount". Anyway I digress. I now suspect I have a 50CAL hanging somewhere in some 'mech but I'll be damned if I can find it.

What is the easiest way to find stood/hung/mounted cockpit items?

The easiest method would have been to have all items (equipped or not) included in the Inventory screen and have a column listing noting "Item Equipped" (and the Mech it's equipped to), and "Not Equipped" for all items would have been logical in the UI design.

The result is you must search each Mech for your .50cal... when you got 50+ Mechs, that just sucks.

To try and find such items you need to be in the Mechlab and click on Mech Details.

You'll see two options to the left, click on Equipment to see if you have anything mounted in that cockpit.

You go do that when you own 50+ mechs, it's gets real tedious after the 5th mech. PGI needs to add a search function, I'm of the mind they won't do it to 'convince' players they don't have the item any more so they buy a replacement.

Who knows, maybe IGP was stopping them from adding the search but it remains to be seen if PGI adds the function or not. Lord knows we need a search function.

Yeah I know that. It is very tedious right now.

Until we see a change, that's what we can do for now. I guess I should have added a quote of the question in the OP though to my earlier post.

This is why I will never buy another hanging / standing / mounted cockpit item again. You can never find the damn things...and if you think looking though 50 mechs is bad....try 173 of them. Not going to do it, done buying cockpit stuff.
