I hope your making enough money from these clan collections. This CW blatantly looks pay to play and does not look appealing to lone wolfs like me. Shame this game took a turn for the worse prioritizing Monitization over content.

In what possible way is Community Warfare "pay to play"? Not one aspect of it is even monetized.

It may not be appealing to you personally; it can't appeal to everyone. But lonewolves can absolutely participate in attack and defense operations as a mercenary.

So, other than useless ranting, do you have a specific complaint?

Kinda offtopic, but are there plans for changing the UI 2.0 for the better or is there no time for it?
If anyone knows anything about the case, please share the info.
And what about 'mechs collisions and knock downs? For immersion purposes and for players to stop running the battlefield like headless chickens.

So those of us that do not play at peak times will never be involved? Or will there be periphery worlds that can be attacked/defended at slower times?
With the various peak player times throughout the 24-hour day, there 'should' be an opportunity for everyone to partake in CW.

Does this mean when there is a peak time window for a region, players from anywhere in the world can participate?

Quote

6-8PM PDT for West Coast, 3-5PM PDT for East Coast (6-8PM EDT), and 11AM-1PM PDT for UTC (6-8pm UTC)

This means the West Coast and East Coast will have their peak time window simultaneously?

So CW= System picks a couple of planets per faction to fight (no unit participation at all in Strategic planning)
Then Pug matches (respawn fest) for a period of time to get points, then a winner.

PS.
Ohhh Mischief i need to talk to you about a certain meal.

My apologies if this has come up already ( I did not see it in the first two pages of this thread).

The current plan for Phase 2 of Community Warfare calls for each mechwarrior to bring four mechs to the battlefield, and picking one to "respawn" when the player's current mech is destroyed.

This could be used as an exploit if a pilot's mech is crippled rather than destroyed. The enemy team could avoid destroying an enemy who currently has no weapons or ammunition, thus preventing (or delaying) the opponent from respawning with a fresh mech.

The simple solution would be an eject feature for the pilot. A second possibilty would be an "extraction zone" the pilot must reach with his current mech to respawn in a new one.

The only current remedies are either suicide by the pilot ( out of bounds ) or having your teamates kill you.

Or overheat which, with override, is super easy

Please!!!
I'm a usual "solo queuer" and I would like to defend the marik space!
Moreover, I'm in asia, therefore it is difficult for me to join US time zone events. :(

They said they'd open it at several peak times and they also said that solo droppers or small groups will be worked into filling battles.

When the window is open anyone can play. So the West Coast North America window isn't only for North Americans its just setup to be at a time when most people from that region are able to play.

No check the timezones. They both run from 6-8PM local time but that means:
East coast gets 6-8pm and 9-11pm local time
West coast gets 3-5pm and 6-8pm local time
Central USA gets 5-7pm and 8-10pm local time

They are currently working on UI2.0 parts related to the CW.
Any improvements will have to wait for after this is done.

Also collisions are still on the table, but after CW is done (probably not before CW phase3).

Question: Any discussion of special events? They've been popular recently with the Lance Challenges and whatnot. I like the idea of maybe having a Twycross/Luthien/Tukayyid weekend.

It would call for more map creation and Tukayyid throws the whole ComGuards question into the mix, but it's a big enough event in the lore that I think people would really be into say a weekend long event where all CW conflicts are on that one planet and the token "threshold" is something absurdly high. Opens up possibilities for more Hero 'Mechs. Scratches the lore itch. Maybe throw out some cockpit items or special camo specs for players that participate.

Do you need people to volunteer to write INN blurbs about CW? I'll do that for free.

Theyve said in the past that we cant fight on story.line worlds, so no tukayyid

Oh, I get it. Except UTC is western Europe, not Central US.

I can not wait until the clan destroys the IS this first season. Then we can attempt to have fun.

This is not about Clan mechs being better, which they are. This is not about superiors clan weapons, etc.

This is about experience. Basically almost everyone who wanted to play clans bought the shiny clan packs. I sure did. Now if you want to play those mechs you have to join the clans. I understand the thinking behind the choices made looking at the timeline. Many experienced IS pilots are going over to the clans, gutting the IS. Now many of the experienced players run clans. Most of the new players run IS. As new players join MWO they can only play IS trial mechs and do their hardest to try to earn experience. There is nothing wrong with helping new players out. However in CW you will have many players wanting to help their faction out. So experienced players with Clan mechs will be playing against new players in trial mechs. Not every match, but in enough matches to make CW a clan rout.

I welcome this so that hopefully changes can be made. Perhaps limit Clan to half the IS drop weight to fit clan lore. If Clans are attacking announce the mechs they are attacking with, like a Batchall. Make the clan 10 or 8 vs 12, which is still more the clans ran with in lore. Give clan mechs a negative in exp and c-bills if they all attack one target, ala Zelbringen.

Perhaps I am too negative. As I see friend after friend go clan, I see IS chances sink with every loss.

I wish it wasnt arena shooter season reset -.-

Wish the 1:1 timeline wasnt impossible and they could do it the way they said they were going to.

This mode will require a way to leave the current mech even if it isn't destroyed.

Pilots in damaged mechs shouldn't be forced to wait until someone decides to finish them off, if they still have healthy mechs in reserve.

And ammo based builds will either need a way to replenish their ammo load or a way to abandon mechs after they run out of ammo. They also wouldn't want to be stucked in a mech with backup weapons only.

Will merc corps able to serve each Force and Faction? Or do they have to decide in the beginning?

Even if defenders hold their fire against an easy kill, which I very much doubt, there will be automated defenses. And I'd imagine your teammates would prefer you fight to the last. "Suicide" is against the code of conduct; it's not going to become a supported feature.

I think you may have read it wrong, but if you have a source for that, I would love to read it. Otherwise, the only worlds they have said we cannot attack are the capital worlds, and that is just a fail safe to prevent the complete annihilation of a faction.

All I want is for my unit to exist in a time/space on the IS map and have to pay for repairs, travel, etc. through the spoils of our matches. That's it.

My copy/paste from Reddit:

Do you actually read? I am talking about the CW play windows. I live in Europe, I work too. So my CW window is 8PM-10PM.
Its nice for you in the american timezones to have so many windows, but we others dont. Look at the Australians, most of them will only be able to play CW on the weekends.

I read and Paul said they will adjust Windows as needed. If your time to play is that strict, then there would be no "best" window except one that you dictate. That is not going to happen, for obvious reasons.

Three chassis that have different hard points and thus font carry the same configs. And yes, I have several builds for the same mech, especially mechs with that have a cbill bonus and mechs that carry ECM (Battlemaster-1G and Atlas DDC for example).

Having played MW 2/3/4/MWO I thought just about everyone did that wasn't just a casual player (not trying to be snarky here, just being truthful). The ability to save configs has *always* been there, I've always considered it a short coming of MWO that it wasn't present.

eta: For example in MW4 on a Thanatos I'd run UAC-10's and lasers on urban maps, on open maps I'd run large lasers and light gauss rifles, different tools for the job at hand.

Fair enough, but until Map selection becomes a reality, build for any Map, or account for Hot Maps as Cold is not an issue. 3 chassis should cover that pretty well.

You assume I did not play MW2-3-4 why? Saving builds would be great but does not exist, yet. So until then, we deal with what we have.

That does not explain what their design goals for which is the most likely victory is which is the question I really want answered. Everyone playing Conquest knows that you can win either by capping or by destroying all enemy forces, but everyone also knows that the last one is the most likely way to win and so it is kind of treated like the primary objective.

:) That is because most play Conquest mode wrong. See it all the time. The Team that ignores the Cap points in an all out effort to destroy the Mechs, will find a Team in the know, winning with plenty of Mechs left over come 750.

As to your Post. The most likely way to victory, given what little we know, will depend on the Teams involved. Destroying 48 Mechs behind a fortified base wall may not be as simple as banging Mechs against it. Some will likely try and others will learn from their lack of success (those defenders turned attackers). Others just like beating their heads against a wall. Nothing to be done about that. They are the same type that currently complain when getting out pointed in Conquest currently. Each to their own. ;)
