Really?

So it's an A1 splatcat with 6 srm 6 but it also has lasers.

And you're trying to say this game isn't pay to win?



I haven't even patched but I know that is just asking for trouble. On the one hand you're trying to get people to play with less high alpha builds and on the other hand you come out with this monster.

with less armor ... and no jump...and heat issues wow things that balance out the mech

Let's not forget the Splatcat has easily destroyed missile launchers (60 health) and runs with an XL engine.

You can make a 100 firepower mech with 30% cooling if you tweak it a bit. That's just pure cheese.

How much of all that firepower can it fire in an alpha before it shuts down. I don't care how many weapons it can carry, only how much of them can be fired as an alpha. Heat sinks, ghost heat, etc are all balancing factors in how effective it can use all that weaponry.

Shoot at it with anything, even with a lackluster aim if you want. The side torsos are... wait for it... gone.

The big side torsos are a boon, not a penalty. Get one side torso shot off and then you get a 1/2 damage shield with all your CT armor for the other side.

Front load your side torso armor, play smart, and you have a 60-tonner that's as tanky as a stalker.

Half as tanky as a Stalker. Or two thirds, I suppose.

When I went one-on-on with my hawk I took out the sides. Frist two alpha with srms blow one side off.

He tried to fire at me but was to slow and the spread was to wide. With my jumper jets I won but any mech without them better run :P

yea its nice having all those launchers and lasers sad that with heat limitations you can only fire one or the other. You fire all at once you will cook or just BARELY avoid shut down but then your dead in the water for about 20 seconds.

i love how people fail to realize the limitations heat introduces and no you can not fit enough heat sink in to counteract that much extra heat.

Clan weapons and their low weight at BEST give you one good alpha after that your firepower goes to absolute crap until you cooldown. in the end most clan weapons turn into situational ones or back ups. my direwolf has 2 gauss 2 LL 6 ML and i use the gauss and LL 80% of the time, i use the ML in oh **** moments or when i have all my heat available to try and throw everything i have at someone, if i dont kill them im usualy going to take a beating. especially if its an assault.

Regardless of armor relocation and pilot skill, it's simply easy to handicap these Mad Dogs. However, I do NOT like facing them, at all. If I can catch one off gaurd, peace of cake. If he is coming after me....... I may make it out but not without a lot of pain.

4x srm6 and 4x mlas on a Timber is hot as hell already. The described loadout sounds like a troll build to me.

so in a 1 vs 1 you would barely win? that sounds pretty balanced to me depending what your piloting

I was about to say I don't think you realize how good it is to have big side torsos which is again the opposite of the catapult.

You're missing the big picture for organized play. You run 2 of these together and whatever you alpha dies from one volley. That's exactly what the devs want to prevent but instead have made much much worse. Once people get the timing down it will be missile.....wait about .25 sec then lasers. GG. your team lost a mech for nothing. They still have enough health to do it again before you kill one. And guess what they can bring 3 to a team so you can probably do it 4 times before losing them.
