This is why I don't play the skirmish game mode anymore. Because bunching up is especially egregious in this mode. There is no clear reason to not bunch up so two large masses of mechs converge on each other.

Artillery?

Arty/Air Strikes are OP on Deathballs... because that's why they were introduced into the game. To counter Deathballs.

I don't see artillery used that often. When it is used it's sometimes helpful, but it's not a deciding factor.

Both are at fault. Both should be aware of where they are in relation to other mechs and respect their fire lines. You should never crowd. Can't count the number of lost matches due the teams balling up and clustering to the point no one can move or get a clear fire lane while the enemy is spread out nice and neat able to bring all their firepower to bear on whomever happens to be in front of the ball at the wrong time.

Keep firing. It's their own fault if they die because they decided to shove their rear torso into an 80 damage wall of bullets trying to score the kill shot with a small laser. I don't even stop if I'm in a fast mech and somebody slower gets in my way, why should a Dire Wolf stop firing and expose both to return fire with less than half of what should be hitting them?

So i thought to ask the question.

If you see a Direwhale doing 53.5kms and you run into the path of it's fire while it's shooting in moderately fast moving mech. What should happen?

You don't shoot teammates in the back.

Learn some trigger discipline.

Doesn't matter what mech you're in, if a teammate is in front of you you stop shooting.

People don't have the same map awareness as others do. People still play peek-a-boo in lights in tunnels and wonder why they get blocked by assaults behind them. You probably have strafed in some peoples way before. I even had a guy artillery strike his teammates because they blocked him and he took 5% dmg.

People take responsibility for your own aim, if you continue to fire and TK you are just a hot head who is probably more upset at losing dat sweet meaningless kdr.

You need to have respect for your teammates. The brawlers need to get in close and sometimes by nature they just end up in the way of the long range attacks. It's both players responsibilities to avoid this situation if possible, but if it happens you can't continue firing in their back and try to justify it. You don't want to be labeled a dezgra. Learn to control yourself.

If you're really dumb enough to blindside sprint out in front of your teamate while he's performing Dakkamashafingerspamablasto! and you get your rear blown out, its your fault, not the Diashi thats actually doing something.

So when somebody cuts you off while you're driving, do you hit the brakes or do you run into them because it's "their fault" ?

He might have hit the brakes, But if the person cuts you off at the last second, it's too little too late. And at that point, it's the person who cut you off at fault, yes?

I stopped caring about people walking in front of me a LONG time ago.

These are the same people that feel the compulsion to "test fire" their weapons EVERY SINGLE MATCH, most times into my back. Nah. If you're incapable of unzooming while you move, paying attention to where your team is and walk into my Dakka...I'll say I'm sorry for the TK, that's about it.

As for learning trigger discipline...that went out the window when the guy behind me cored me out with a dual gauss 'phract. Nope. Hard to care, period.

Granted, I play in the "no Elo" solo queue....so, the levels of experience vary vastly. If I were playing in the group queue with a team of people on teamspeak, it'd be a completely different matter.

In that scenario I wouldn't stop firing. I also would not be sorry. Someone Stupid enough to get between the massive DPS of a direwolf and what it is shooting is a determent to the team to begin with. I don't miss them when they are gone.

Have you ever had one turn around and start shooting you though? Talk about a detriment to the team. They waste your armor, heat, AND DPS as well as waste all of their resources too.

According to automotive laws where I live, if you rear end him, you are at fault...

I only did that once, to a Shadow Hawk that was shooting my Dual Gauss War Hawk in the back, due to the IFF glitch... so he said, after I turned around and took his LT away from him for the rest of the game....

I'd rather they just get dragged out and shot... since most of the time I'm driving with my young son in the back of the car...

in any of my mechs, if someone gets into my line of fire this is what i do

1. i yell at them first if i'm not firing yet
A. if i am firing and they get hit i yell at them again to get out of the way.
B. if they don't get out of the way i just move somewhere else or they get a warning shot on the ground

usually its enough to get my point across

So to sum up the thread,

- It's bad to team kill

- If you can avoid it do so

- If you can't say sorry

- If there lacking in good judgement, then that's their own fault

- If ya see the direwhale rocking don't come blocking his line of fire or expect death

- If they nerd rage over it, then laugh and move onto your next kill and enjoy the noobs howls and cries of bad aiming, when really it's his bad driving

For me and my Direwhale it depends on what killed my teammate. I run an erlaser and guass build. If my lasers kill you then its your fault since they burn so long. However, if it is my gauss then it is all on me since i could have not fired them but did, due to seeing green or impatience to hit the enemy.

edit: just starting using gauss again since I bought this thing. Also my only tk was a merc mate with said gauss.
