It is amazing that some guys want the entire match maker or the coming dropship made made for them, and them only even if it is at the expense of all the other pilots that like mediums or heavies or lights, and yes even assaults.

I was all for 1/1/1/1 but if they go for 240 tons cap thats ok to.

Lights shouldnt have to face entire teams of assaults or any other bunk combinations. Its unrealistic for a start and just bad in a 100 other ways.

With the 4/240 every player can pilot any mech they want and the field will have some variety and a show of all the weight classes not just for 1 player to drop with but all the players. :)

How could they possibly come up with a more fair solution I have no idea. Any complaints at this point are simple trolling to me.

A more fair solution would be the 240t limit with a 1/1/1/1 requirement.

Just 240 is fine, it guarantees variety without enforcing classes.

Id be fine only bringing two honestly, its the 4 or you cant go thing that bugs me

^^^^^TROLL^^^^^ just kidding

But to continue on. I agree the 1/1/1/1 is more fair.

Either way not only is the 4/240 more fair its alot more fun.

I mean what mechs is everyone going to take as combination to this dropship mode?

I am not into any of the card games but if i were this would be great. WHich card do I play first etc. I havnt given it much thought but I am thinking my light goes first, but who knows.

I am sorry to hear that. But the good news is you can take 4 50 tons mechs. Might be an interesting combination.

By the way, my stomach turns when ever i see 4 cheese whales headed my way so i feel for ya.

After reading http://mwomercs.com/...2-update-oct-8/ my heart sank a little.

Russ, you are missing the point of allowing players to CHOOSE if they want to take 2 or 4 mechs. By forcing players to take 4 mechs, you are literally forcing players who do not want to pilot lighter mechs, to take them.

Also, 240t is NOT enough tonnage for Clanners. Clans do not have every mech tonnage available to them, 240t will not allow a Dire Wolf player to take his best mechs. Ya he can take ONE of them, but thats it, he will have to take 3 lights or a medium and 2 lights due to the lack of tonnage diversity currently in the Clan lineup. Note: I am said Dire Wolf player, I love my DW, and I am quite deadly inside one, however I hate using Mediums and Lights, I'm not bad in them, I just do not like them.

If the "Must Take 4 mechs stays" then CW will be a bad taste in my, and many others, mouths each time we play. Clans will not be able to take there best mechs, while IS will be able to pull out 2 Atlas and 2 Locusts (if min/max). While Clans will not be able to take 2 Direwolf at all, hell taking just ONE DW will be so limiting on the other mechs taken, he might as well not even bother since he is going to be out gunned and out tonned so quickly. Clans are not as strong as they once were, all those nerfs to them have done wonders in killing there power, that the TT had.

This is why a 2-4 limit IS NEEDED, system NEEDS to be flexible, to allow for the play styles for all players. I have said this before, forcing players to do things they DO NOT WANT, kills the game for them each time they step into something they did not want. They will resent it every time XX situation they were forced into, happens. Overall souring the game for them and eventually leading to there quitting.

Actually Clanners can bring 2 assaults, and 2 lights @ 240t. Dire Wolf / Warhawk / Kit Fox / Mist Lynx - That is not a bad compromise. You get to bring 2 of the deadliest Mechs on the battlefield and must suffer a very capable ECM sniper light and another light that will be better than a locust.

That has to be better than just taking 2 Dire wolves and then sitting half the match out (Because you were only able to bring 2).

We were promised that there would no respawns and most of us bought into the game not wanting respawns. Dropship Mode is Respawns, but done in a way that is not quite as immersion breaking as traditional FPS respawns. It is not accurate to say that "we have all been waiting for" this.

I'm sure that there are MANY DW pilots who would disagree with your statement. I don't pilot DW, or really any Assault, and I still find it distasteful to feel even slightly compelled to bring a token light just to get the tonnage left over to have an extra "real mech".

But I'm not really sweating it - once CW is implemented, if a lot of people dislike the Drop deck rules, then PGI could pretty easily change those rules.

What exactly does the word 'fair' mean in this sentence?

240 tons + 1/1/1/1 is incredibly limiting and what is the gain exactly?

Fairness?

As best I can figure it fairness means "I think I'm suffering because I don't get to run four assaults (the only class you can't run four of technically) so I want everyone to suffer with me". Which is a pretty warped sense of fairness and has nothing to do with fair gameplay or fair teams or fun. Just small petty spitefulness.

No one cares - you get to bring 2 assaults, for all I care you can SLOWLY (so as not to induce vomiting) walk to the edge of the map and die. If there are people out there that can ONLY drive 1 Mech...then CW is never gonna work out for them.

To be fair they said the blurb about DSM before they ever said no respawns.

CW is ONLY dropship mode? Where did they say that?

Thought DSM was an optional side thing not an absolute requirement for CW

Just FYI Buddah - I'm not sure anyone can tell what side of this you fall on, at least I can't. @ post #311 your okay with 240 and what ever fits. My post here is in response to someone that had to have 2 assaults, but said it wasn't possible for the clans...clearly it is.

Perhaps we could tackle your issue? Which is...what? Are you ok with 2 heavies and 2 mediums? Maybe 1 assault, 1 heavy and 2 mediums?

I can not tell if you are playing devils advocate or your.......(Edited for being kinda mean.)

Makes the game more like what they initially didnt want MWO to turn into. I know I heard in several of thier early interviews they wanted to make this game more than a rush to the biggest mech, including all weight classes and giving them each viable roles to play in this game. But in the end, its just a big brawl, and the biggest guns wins brawls.

That could have been the game we all want. A shame they never figured out how to achieve that.

My issue; fast mechs make me vomit, bringing a slow fast frame gets you killed (IE Firestarter with a gauss). I dont have any medium mechs. I run heavy and assaults.

Id much rather sit out and wait for the match to end as I brought two/three mechs I would rather play instead of being made to bring two then two Im just gonna suicide in.

Yea, what happened there was I misunderstood what was being said, not that I was cool with it.

And no; I dont just spam cheesewhales, as I said, I usually play Boar's Head or Warhawks. Im currently running a Battlemaster lol

Ok, now were making progress...If ya have to have the Battlemaster the lightest Mech you'll have to suffer is a Cicada.

85t Battlemaster / 65t Jagermech / 50t Hunchback (Founders) / 40t Cicada

...or, forgo the Battlemaster and roll in 3 heavies..

70t Phract / 65t Jager / 65t Thunderbolt / 40t Cicada or take (2) Jager's a Quickdraw and a Hunchie!

There's options here and hard choices to make...If you really want (2)100t Mechs then yes you'll have to suffer (2)20t puke machines - that's the price, everyone has to make choices in this system, I think it's great.

You aren't going to get 4 assaults.

You can complain about only getting 2 assaults though thats silly when you would have only gotten 1 in 1/1/1/1.

There was never ever going to be a system where you could bring 4 assaults.

We've covered this 100 times. You got more flexibility to avoid mechs that make you sick or whatever.

1/1/1/1 was less flexible.

You can learn Vindicators and take 45/45/65/85 for instance. I don't think of them as fast or bouncy. Certainly no more than the 55'ers are so you are winning versus 1/1/1/1.

You can learn Mad Dogs and just go 60/60/60/60 on the clan side, I have no idea if they are too fast.

Or you can keep crying about it.

Decision is being made for the good of the fun and gameplay of the invasion/dropship game mode. Not to punish a subset of pilots or to unfairly benefit some other subset. This complaint is and will continue to be ridiculous.

Thing is, if the clans want to match the IS ton for ton...they just flat out WON'T be able to. IS can take what they like, they have every tonnage class, and doubles of some. Clans, have 25 T at the lightest.....

I like my DW, and I am good in them, if I die early on in both mechs, then that is MY CHOICE! I chose to take 2 mechs, and died quickly, so it is my punishment to sit out the rest of the match and hope I did enough damage so the team can win.

What about Deck Diversity? I know were talking about the Min/Max here however, Clans have VERY VERY VERY few options on the table to work with at 4/240. Heavys will probably be fine and any combination under the Warhawk. However the king of the clan mechs, will be out and its stupid to discriminate against them, since IS isn't getting the same treatment.

Unless Clan Drop decks are higher, like 250t allowing 2DW and 2ML, but as MW Budda has stated, were just going to be horrible in our light mechs, either we use them first, or last, either way ASSAULT mech pilots are not LIGHT mech pilots.

2-4 should be the "limit" or 200t, whichever comes first.......

Bait taken.

This has to be a troll reply because you cant be serious.

What about the light mech pilot that wants to take 4 lights and lower the drop weight?

You will likely come up with another senseless reason why the game should be made only for assault pilots?

In this quote the guy wants to take 2 mechs and feels the needs to try make everyone else take 2 mechs. Where is the guy that wants to take 7 mechs? I dont see that troll post yet lol.
