The second the external armor is open on any IS 'mech clan AC's are registering crits because they're boating 3 or more, and that means upwards of 15 ac shells per round, EACH with it's own chance to crit something.

Yeah, clan AC's are SO bad, that's why I see pretty much nothing but AC boats among the clans... Yeah... Right...

So you see under the current MM limitations and clan targeting freedom clans do have the advantage.


You see clanners boating ac's (really only the dire wolf's does this) because clan lasers run so hit, NOT because clan ac's are superior

There is only one mech you can "boat" them. It does 52KPH and turns as slow as a supertanker. Also has a CT the size of a billboard.

No, I totally agree with you that the 'better' and 'more skilled' players are using builds that show off their skill, not just optimizing the 'spray and pray' tactics of the unskilled and lazy.

The problem is, there's waaaaay more unskilled and lazy players than there are skilled players, so what do we see most often when it comes to clan?

AC boats of various flavor.

And that's only 'slightly' mitigated by the introduction of the Maddog but that's only because everyone wants to level their 'Dogs up, once they've gotten them Mastered, the majority of them will be back to their AC boats...

First off, any clan 'mech chassis that can sport more than 2 AC's is boating them.

Secondly, after it's appropriately leveled 53.5kph is its max speed, and it's slow 'turning' rate only affects extremely close in fighting. To track your targets at beyond 200 meters isn't so difficult, especially as the torso twist speed is more than sufficient to keep even the fastest 'mechs targeted beyond that range.

It's large billboard sized torso is typically covered in LOTS of armor and that and the fact that losing an entire side torso doesn't kill it means it's got survivability beyond that of most IS assaults.

By the way... MWO looses even more players because of the teammatches where you have to bring big teams to not get frustratedly often rolled by 10 or 12 man teams. But thats worth another discussion.

clans are no OP the players in them are and you do get more for killing them since you have to take out both sides if you dont leg( that is the best way to kill them BTW but i would guess you wouldn't think of that) and a last thing to add to your cry baby list of piss poor gaming most 10 mans and 12 mans kind of suck.... maybe you should find someone to practice with and get better? ( just a thought at very least its more productive then crying all day).

Killing clanners is a reward in itself.

Kill = 100 reward points
Kill with QQ = 200 reward points
Kill with QQ and ragequit = priceless

Xp..C-bills should be factored around which weight of mech you use, something which all Mediums could do with, to encourage play with them

If they implemented a BV system like TT I think this could be taken care of easily.

Take your baseline rewards for your performance x modifier based on your 'mech's battle value = c-bills/xp rewards

It wouldn't really be quite that bad if this was designed along the lines of "spoils of war", i.e. IS player killing certain number of Kit Foxes unlocks use of Kit Fox in CW for that player.

OK, one other mech can. But

Warhawk can only run 2 (one each arm)

Timer can run 3 but one is in CT with only one slot (even ac2 is 2 slots) So MG would be your only 3rd AC option

Summoner can load 3 AC2's with maybe 6 tons ammo (maybe a little more with ammo). Now looking at this, might have to toss one together for the troll of it.. (if my friends don't tk me for not running the TW)

*nevermind,, tried it. The effectiveness of this mech to do anything is a touch above having no weapons equipped.
