So.... I am in limbo. Huge Clan Ghost Bear fan since MW2 however for the last 3 weeks I have been finding myself spending all my time away from Clan mechs and back in the hot seat of the IS classics.

I blame some of this renewed love on the recent module additions (cooldown rocks) but when I go to play I draw towards my 5 Atlases, my Jenners/Firestarters/Spiders and of course, my Centurions and Thunderbolts.

Maybe it is the customization level of the IS that is drawing me back as well since I keep bringing out new builds....but something just seems stale for me on the Clan side and has me 2nd guessing where I will go when CW hits...

Anyone else in limbo?

Same here. The moment the Clans invaded, I switched from FRR to Clan Ghost Bear. I, too, have been drawn back to my IS mechs and made the change back to FRR.

I like both FRR and CGB, and whichever one I choose shouldn't matter too much since both will eventually merge into the Rasalhague Dominion in the future.

But ultimately who knows, I may switch to something else entirely.

I've pretty much decided to use clans to muck around in solo queue but to do CW as IS. My reasons are somewhat to do with role playing or at least knowing most clanners are elitist jerks (lore wise) and i know all the 12 year olds will gravitate towards clans because they will be OP (or at least the kids will think they are).

Dont get me wrong, im not saying good people wont be playing Clans, im just saying more good people will be playing IS. :P

I'll be switching between Kurita and Davion.

Most Clan weapons don't have FLD damage. Lasers are spread, autocannons are spread, missiles are rippled, etc, which requires a lot of focus and finesse to do good damage.

IS mechs are kind of like the, "lay back and relax," kind of gameplay. You have shorter durations and more weapons that do FLD damage, so they feel more efficient and fine tuned.

Although I own a bunch of Clan mechs and have fun with them, I'll be driving my IS machines for CW.

I kill more mechs with my IS mechs than I do with Clan mechs.

That, and I'm very comfortable with them - they're like old and comfortable shoes. :)

Staying loyal to the Inner Sphere no matter what. Staying House Kurita or Inner Sphere Mercinary.

I don't like how restricted Clan society and Omni-Mechs are.

I look forward to seeing the pack tear you IS mechers apart.

While I plan to get some Clan mechs at some point (maybe the Wave II pack) .... pretty sure I will be sticking with my IS mechs for the long run.

Inner Sphere. But probably not affiliate with any faction. They've all got too many skeletons in their closets.

clans are a cool sandbox toy, but my loyalty is IS just because you can customize individual IS mechs to a more specific play style

clan mechs kind of all do the same sort of thing so (to me) they sort of all play the same, just in varying degrees by pod space

Davion!

However... I was in a state of confusion for a bit when the 'Wave II' was released. Mainly because I wasn't around for founder's, or phoenix, and haven't actually bought a proper 'pack' for MWO yet. My name feels empty without a badge of some sort. So I was tempted to grab Wave II and switch to Clan Wolf (bondsman, anyone?), but then my greater Davion sense kicked in and I closed the window. :P

Initially when I've encountered the MWO site for the first time I went into the deep research about IS factions. I've chew trenches all trough sarna, picking every detail about every Successor States, their history, culture, territory, notable characters and mechs. It didn't took long for me to take my choice on House Liao. One of lesser states surviving despite unfavorable odds, the only one open about it's political state, fighting with skill and commitment, rather than numbers and money, determinately atheistic, with russian language as one of official ones and with some good, really their own, mechs.

Since then, a lot have happened. I've entered the russian Liao unit, that outlived many of our allied units and grown from 20+ members total to 50+ active members today, becoming one of the largest russian MWO units, perhaps even the largest one. All trough that time I've became completely devoted and affiliated to the Capellan Confederation. I love my Ravens, Phracts, Catapults and Vindicators zealously, I don't like Clans, nor do I like Clan mechs or want or need them. I also pity the Faction players, who lack determination to avoid clan mechs, and severely despise minmax units and their members, who use Clan mechs just because "they're better than IS mechs, so we win moar", incapable of placing any challenge before them to beat.

So no, I've never been a clan loyalist, never bought any Clan Mechs, and never will. 對於校長!

Eh, did Liao in MPBT3025, they were cool, and fighting Davions was cool. Will continue to do so.

I'm sorta on the fence.

How well the Ice Ferret plays may sway me in one direction or the other.

IS has Shadow Hawks and Griffins, so they win my favor by default. The crazy high heat of post-nerf Clan energy weapons doesn't help matters.
