Can you link me to an example of the kind of camo that you're after? I've googled tiger camo and I get the general idea, but there are several different varieties and I was wondering if you had something specific in mind.

Here's the panelling rough. Using the 3D paint tool in Maya I draw directly on to the model and save out the resulting texture map. I now have a base upon which to start making the panel line layer in Photoshop.

The Panelling layer is done. Now for the details, camo and weathering.

This is a pretty decent desert camo pattern.

Also, the camo specs page on the CBT website. Might give some ideas.

Yeah, Camo Specs is a nice site. If I were going to choose a camo, I'd probably go with German WWII 'Ambush' as it's always been my favourite. That said, however, Cementblade originally mentioned a 'red tiger stripe' camo. I was just wondering if he had something specific in mind.

Now with added base colour and weathering. This pass is not quite complete yet and I might go back and redo some of the earlier bits now that I've established a style and intensity that I'm happy with.
There are also areas on the model that are currently green and that won't be in the final version.

Once this is done, I'll be able to add more details and markings. I also need to do a camoflage layer.

Right now, time for bed. More in the morning.

Right, that's pretty straight forward. I might have to make it a dark grey rather than black because black will simply override all of the underlying detail making a mess of everything. I'll fudge it about and see what I can do.
What sort of markings do you want on it? House emblem, pilot sig etc?

There. This seems to work okay. I can at least get on with the unfolding in Pepakura as, now that the UVs are locked, I can update the texture later on.

So, you didn't tell me what insignia you want on it. Is it affiliated to any particular house or clan?

Right then. Achievement Unlocked!

I need to finish off the details on the texture and I need to test-build it to make sure there are no major bugs and I'm really not sure those legs are going to be strong enough so it might need some stiff card and some improv engineering.

I've already found a couple of rogue polys but they are tiny, hidden and to fix them would require starting the Pepakura layout from scratch so I'll either ignore them, or try and fix them in post. (to be honest, a red felt tip would probably do it) ;)

I was hoping that I'd have it printed and made by this evening but my printer is fracked and the one in work is much much better, so it can wait until tomorrow.

Right now, I'm off for sausage and chips and a glass of vino collapso!

Right, the markings and such are finished. I'm completely happy with the texture map now and I've even done a quick Ambush pass for shotes and giggles. I'll test build parts of it to make sure there are no obvious errors and then I'll make it public.

A really nice model. How long did it take you to make that? Oh, and which method of modelling did you use? Through lines, or adjusting blocks, spheres, etc.? :)
