Dire Wolf with 6 LB2X, nothing else.

Thought it could not be topped until today when I saw the Shadow Cat with 2 Ultra 2s, nothing else. At least he remembered ECM.

I've been told that my build is bad, not a troll build but just bad but somehow it's the only one that works semi decent for me. 9K 1xGauss, 2xLL, 2xSRM4 310 STD engine. Ferro and Endo. 4xJJ.

took a look at that but my only victors are in the what mech challenge, and right now just don't have the cbills. not a bad build from the looks of it. in the right hands it could be great. just have to watch teh ammo and not tank too much.

The SRMs can be a bit off, but the build is solid. Gauss+LLs is a very reliable Victor build.

That doesn't seem like it'd be horrible. It's a little bit traditional for the meta-lovers out there, but it's functional, assuming you take good care of your gauss and don't blow yourself up.

That actually sounds pretty dangerous. LBX20 is a beast up close, though 1 ERPPC is not a whole lot.

I'll grant you that the Mad Dog is not that ideal chassis for that build, and I'll even grant you that the alpha potential is rather on the low side for the heavy, but I must contend that the LBX20 and ERPPC are both ok weapons and that the build can at least fight.

I've seen so many LRM-spammers this weekend... Not that the chassis is good for much, but the LRM Summoners alone...ick. Don't get me wrong, LRMs can be kind of nice as a side venture, but LRM-only 'Mechs kind of make me disappointed. It's like they can't even fight back by themselves when I roll up and start dismantling them.

TCs don't benefit MGs. What's hilarious is that the MGs are 0.25 tons, and the SHC can fit 7 of them, I believe.

I have a flame coloured NOVA S-PRIME-hybrid for when i get mentally weird.
It has TC1, AP, 4 MGs and 12 Flamers, grouped 6+6. Flamer and MG Range Module or Seismic.
AMS did not fit in, stupid 16 weapon per chassis limit. I sometimes replace the MGs with two additional AMS.
Keep alternating them every 4 seconds to avoid logarithmic heat buildup.
If you overheat, you are back very fast, since overheat amount is minimal.
People laugh, but for flamegrillin open location bacon, there is nuffin like it.
And it crits like hell. that and the panic movement patterns on the map when you jump someone with an energy build from behind.
you get to kill exactly one mech per match if you are good. at that point 11 mechs chase you. good if your team wants an aggro magnet. Distracts people from CW Targets, e.g.

Polar Highlands has brought out the worst builds imaginable.

I've lost track of the number of dip-stick LRM boats that have shown up without a single backup weapon for anything under 180m. Or, they bring a single medium laser, because that's going to scare off light mechs and brawlers, I guess. And don't even get me started on the resurgence of insane Atlas LRM boats. Nothing like a 100 ton mech with the firepower of a Catapult to really bring home the wins.

Still, the prize for wasted tonnage has to go to the King Crab I saw this weekend. 1 LRM 15, 1 Gauss Rifle, and a few lasers. I have no idea what he was going for, but his playstyle was what truly made the build special. And by "playstyle," I mean how he skillfully hid behind a rock the whole match, launching LRM's into the rock against targets he probably couldn't lock anyway. I think he forgot about the Gauss Rifle... Remind me again what the upper limit of team-mates is for Tier 5 players? Ugh... why?!

That Stalker deserves an achievement. You actually have to work HARD to find a way to fit an XL engine on your stalker, and use the tonnage you save. You can run virtually any build you want on the STK chassis, with a STD 300.
