Hence why my boars head still has an xl400. Sometimes it goes boom real quick. Sometimes it shows up at a high rate of speed were an atlas should not be. Love running through the reds at 72 kph mpls taging everyone and gone before they get over the OMG it is an atlas lol.

My friend and I wanted to do a narc/tag scout with a LRM boat hiding in the distance, ya know for chits and giggles. Neither of us really have the right mechs for it but in the name of fun, we outfitted what we could.

His: Cammando with ECM + Narc ( +enhanced narc, radar dep.)
Me: KGC-0000 with 4 LRM 15's and +2500rds (+radar dep. + LRM 15 range/cooldown)

The concept is alot of fun but boy do people get angry at me for boating with a kingcrab. Sad thing is, we kill 2-4 mechs per round. *facepalm* I agree its a waste of a king crab but boy do we have fun

Speccing housemate. Saw a crab camping with two Gauss Rifles and large lasers. Totally abdoned his team.

Please kill yourself. You are a 100 ton mech. Carrying long range weaponary in a low profile mech.

as much as people hate a 100 ton mech boating LRMs the king crab does a good job of it. a good spotter/bomber setup like this would make the reds life very short.

Twin ER PPCs on a Hunch -4P is just a terrible idea, as it can't hope to handle the heat from them.
Even twin ER Large Laser isn't a great idea; better off using the Hunch -4J for that, as its quirks are more suited for non-medium laser energy weapons.

saw one the other day that was to bad no to bring up on the hpg network an atlas with NO ARMOR whats worse he was a lrm boat with no weapons

Got 4 mechs to post.

First up:

For one, he's mixing LRMs with a direct fire AC5... then he tossed a pair of MGs on because he apparently had the tonnage left over with nothing better to spend it on, like some SRMs.

And he's using a single LRM15, when he has 3 missile hardpoints; he could have used triple LRM5 for the same weight, and gained a fair bit of DPS.


Second one is particularly hilarious:

It's a Panther with just a single SRM4, single Small Pulse Laser, TAG and AMS... nothing else.

Someone trying to emulate the Banshee Trial Mech. He was overheating badly the whole time; he would have been much better off with 3 or 4 large pulses and a large ballistic, like a Gauss or AC20.

Not seen in-game yet but there's a new player on the board who has made an Lrm-45 Adder with almost zero armor, reasoning that 'if anyone catches up with me I'm dead anyway'. Veteran players have yet to dissuade him from his course and he has only been strengthened in his belief because he has had a game where he achieved 2 kills.

Saw an Awesome 8R the other day; he had 4x LRM10 and a TAG... and I think he had no armor, as despite his mech having no damage when I engaged him, he died after being hit with just two volleys of 3x SRM4.

Bad enough he was using LRM10s when the -8R is quirked for LRM15s, but no armor either? I just don't know what his config was, or why he had to strip all his armor off for it.
