IS Ultras may need the burst-fire treatment in preparation for when IS Ultra 10s and 20s arrive (3058+), but IS regular ACs, no way. Leave them as is and use them as the benchmark for converting the Clan regular ACs to slug-type with the Clan versions firing slower so the IS ACs still retain a DPS advantage.

Yeah this is a good point.

I want FLD Autocannons on my Clan mechs. I want them on the LBs, which take up more crit slots and I want that to be the ammo switch.

I don't like clan burst fire UACs, they are inefficient and do not compete well enough against hitscan lasers - but that being said I recognize that UAC 20 that fired 2x 20 point shells in quick succession like the IS UAC 5 would be too powerful and that a Dire Wolf or Warhawk could then use the omni-pod system to have a AC 40 Boom Jager on each arm - Welcome to crazy town, please enjoy your stay.

So I get it, I get why they made the UACs into burst fire.

They are still bad weapons, will always be inefficient. I'd like to see improvements.

I think that 5 points should be the minimum size round.

so Clan UAC 5 would function like IS UAC 5 - and then we crank up the ghost heat to prevent 4 to 6 of them from being pure madeness.

Clan UAC 10 would fire two 5 point rounds followed by a rapid double tap of 2 more five point rounds, etc.

Then increase the projectile speeds a bit, and done.
