Nothing was more cool than when the Expansion came out for MW4 and that beauty was available.

Black Knight all the way. For those of us who were not TT players, it is quite the Iconic Mech for me.

This also begs the question of what Medium and light they can choose in a 3049 Timeline.

Shield arms vs zombie potential. Tough call.

Harmony Gold holds the IP to it. The Archer is considered an "unseen" mech for this reason.

Basically, in the old, old days, Harmony Gold got the rights to a stack of the original Robotech models (coincidentally the ones FASA swiped when making their Traveler mod (what would eventually become Battletech)). A lot of legalese later, there are certain mechs that can't be touched without incurring the wrath of HG.

These are (and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few):

Archer
Longbow
Marauder
Ostcout
Ostol
Stinger
Wasp
Phoenix Hawk

Annnnnd...a couple others that are slipping my mind at the moment.

I know its just sad i like robotech a lot also but it seems they are just sitting on the ip anymore not to mention how long til their copyright expires ?

The Grasshopper was off to an early lead, but now the Black Knight is pulling ahead.

I would think that PGI and HG could reach an arrangement. A "Harmony Gold" pack where a portion of the profits go directly to HG might do it. The problem for HG is they were almost burned in the past, almost losing the IP because they didn't sue fast enough. They'll be real reluctant to make that mistake again, which is why they have a reputation for being lawsuit-happy.

Anyways, between the Grasshopper and Black Knight, they're pretty similar. I think the BK would make more sense in a Clanbuster pack, being almost exclusively a Comstar mech at this point in the timeline, but either works.

I picked the Grasshopper because I'm a fan of mobility and the Grasshopper's more speed-happy than the Phract.

I went for the Grasshopper since it is both more iconic AND was in the original box set of Battletech I bought back in the day.

And it does not only have lasers, it has missiles. I hate laser only mechs SO MUCH. 70 ton weight should also make it competitive.

And hey JJ shouldnt suck too bad soon enough.

Visually, the Black Knight has had some interesting builds.

BUT......

I think I would rather see what Alex can do with the Grasshopper. Plus: Jump Jets. I need my JJs.

I would rather see both... at least eventually.

But I voted Grasshopper.

Not enough variants.

The Black Knight would just be another useless IS mech. Grasshopper at least has JJs. The choice is a simple one here.

The IS needs a good 75 ton heavy. It has to be the Black Knight. Srsly. :P

My Orion laughs at people underestimating it. And then wrecks their face with a double fistfull of SRMs.

Voted black knight due to clanbuster variant possibilities.
