I have that in the mechlab for my already owned mechs yes. But I don't have that in the actual store when I am buying a new mech. Thats what I am talking about, how am I expected to make an informed choice of what mech I should buy when there is literally no information about any of it features in the store section of the client?

Both of the things listed in my earlier post show up for me on mechs under the "purchasable" tab of the mechlab.

Thank you!
That drop down filter didn't exist the last time I played so I completely missed it tonight. But still I have to ask why the hell isnt that same functionality available in the store? It doesn't make sense to omit it.

I'm sure everyone will agree that the mechlab's information fucntionality should be present in the store section, though.

And that is, in my opinion, where the new user experience really fails, beyond the lack of a proper tutorial.

This exactly! Getting into this game can be intimidating enough for new players but the way the store is structured right now it is extremely user unfriendly. I don't post a lot here but but from the minute the UI 2.0 was introduced I said you will lose new adopters to MWO with the way it is. For a new player who is unfamiliar with the game it is very easy to squander your first hard earned credits on a mech that is in no way suited to you because you only have a stamp sized portrait and a price to figure out what you are buying as you said.

If a veteran to this game like myself who has almost 2000 matches can completely miss what I missed then obviously something is very wrong with the fundamental design of the store. I made "sweeping incorrect statements" because I was frustrated to the point with the store that I literally did not want to play the game any more. Sure I "could have asked" but its not my fault that this vital information is basically hidden away from where it should logically be.
I am glad you agree with my points though.
