Please let me remove River City from my list! Oh, please. I hate this damn map with all my bloody heart. It lags hugely so I just cannot play, I can't hit a s***, I lag and I hate everyone and everything when spawn on this hateful map. I have no such FPS issues on other maps and lowering video quality does nothing to my FPS in RC, it still terribly lags for some reason, I wager it is just not optimized well.
Shortly: River City is broken for me. I hate it and would exclude forever from the game.

Sure, and I've had a few 1000+ damage games in my AC20 hunchbacks, my Swayback, even in my AWS-8R SRM Honey Badger. Not saying it can't be done. Just that if the other team isn't completely awful or your team isn't exceptionally good, it's not going to happen.

ALPINE!! A million times over! I appreciate that it is nice to have a somewhat open map, but if you bring a brawler assault....you're in big trouble and theres not much you can do about it. It doesnt help that light and medium mech pugs will run off and leave you by default. Maybe if you didnt spawn assults at the rear where all the better players in scouts know to look for you right off the bat while youre ca-chunking your way to safety 45 seconds in, it wouldnt be as much of a problem.

Brainstorming:

How about an Alpine variant with low visibility? Perhaps night (since there's no artificial lighting on most of the map it would be very dark) or snowstorm (hopefully without the FPS drops). It would incentivise the scout role since even direct fire weapons such as ERLLs and ERPPCs wouldn't be able to hit targets without a lock on, and scouts could more easily scuttle around in the darkness. Entire companies of mechs could more easily move undetected and the center hill wouldn't have as much an advantage.

Woah, a little late to the party. But if I could remove one map, it would be, Viridian Bog. I hate it. And I mean hate it. It is basically a colder Terra Therma, wit randomly positioned hills, where everyone is hogging them, add a little more debris, to mess with the already bad handling of the assault mechs, and you get, a catastrophe. To top it all off, almost _all_ matches end up in the same area eventually, with some guys up the hill, as already said before, spamming fire down below through the trees, and the guys bellow doing the same shooting up.

If I could remove two maps, I would remove Viridian Bog twice.

I cant vote because all the maps are so poor.

If i really have to choose one, that would be Alpine Peaks.

Viridian Bog or Forest Colony. Can't decide which map I dislike more. FC is just too damn small and VB.... well, I hate swamps where I cant walk freely. :/

Alpine. Too open, no cover, one central fighting spot.

Fixes:
-Modify smaller hills, larger/steeper to provide better cover.
-Make another access to the large hill up top. From either the north or south would keep the east mountain viable to use as a sniper vantage. Potentially reducing the ridge on the east side of the main hill would also make the east hill even more viable as a counter/sniper perch.
-Create Evergreen Forests with trees large enough to cover up to Medium, maybe some Heavy mechs. Possibly the tallest 10% of mechs still have their heads poke out of the trees? Dense forests would be the best, allowing maneuvers through treelines to makes flanks, ambushes, etc. Make a handful of different sized trees/trunk widths and intersperse them within the same grouping. (These massive trees do exist.)

Creating better cover out of the smaller hills is a DEFINITE must. The changes to the main hill and counters for it are the second need. Lastly the Evergreen forests would make great eye candy and add more tactics.

Tera Therma by a longshot. A really irritating, uncreative map that bores the hell out of me. This map and the way it plays out is bad enough to make me stop playing for the night if I get it enough. All that happens every single match is one of the two teams bum rushes the middle, while the other makes it there after and plays peek-a-boo all day long with the middle, and usually ends up losing since the middle team that made it there first can bring more guns to bear at once. OR instead of the peek-a-boo loss, the team that didn't make it just *attempts* to flank in one of the entrances, and the team in the middle will go out to meet them or get slapped in the mouth from behind/the side. There. I described the ONLY two things that realistically happen on this map.

Terra Therma. Boring. Hot, yeah, but the heat doesn't bother me. Most of my builds run hot, and I've gotten pretty decent at managing heat as a result. Tourmaline is my favorite map bar none, and that's not exactly cold. So the heat isn't an issue for me. But the playstyle? Ugh. So. Very. Dull. Like the map itself. The entire map has ONE distinctive feature. And it's one of the biggest maps in the game!

I don't much care for Alpine either, since it's so lop-sided. But I don't mind it too much. I don't like Frozen City(day) much since the blizzards just gray everything out and make it look boring. I DO like Frozen City Night. I also like both River City maps, contrary to what many are saying. I tend to have good matches there. But yeah. For me it's always going to be Terrible Therma. It's just a boring place to play.

Alpine is the only map I can't seem to get a grasp on. Coming up with a game plan that works almost every time is not easy most of the time, even though my W/L is plus 1.

I like all maps for the most part. HPG, River City and Mining Collective are the only maps where my W/L is under 1. I like to play those maps but I'm having a hard time winning on them.

You don't need to be psychic before you drop. All you need is balanced build.

Some think balance builds tend to be boring. Dropping with the same load out match after match after match can get a bit stale for some. Does not bother me one bit.

My boggaboos are shutting down from overheating and not having enough range. Dropping on hots maps is not a problem. All my mechs are balanced. I can play on every map and gamemode without fear of shutdown or not having enough range to do my thang.

River city night is the only one, but only because of night. otherwise all maps are more or less ok, RIver city should just get a spawn point change.
