Aye, that's the way to go. 2-way battle turns 3-way plus cookies ... and we LOVE cookies :P

I wonder how the game is gonna react when there are suddenly more than 24 players to handle, like 29 or 34.
On another note, maybe this could be seen as a chance for the devs to live test more chaotic scenarios with multiple parties involved.
Might just have two stars of Clan Mechs come in and mop up the whole map from 2 opposing sides where they meet in the middle.

Anyway, I'm all for it =)

Just a wistful lil idea that when they decide to start introducing clan mechs for the week prior the devs crash people's games hot dropping in with a lance of clan mechs to try and kill everyone .

No dev post no warning just a SURPRISE Timberwolf lance to the face :P , so the game really does get invaded by clan mechs before we actually get to buy and use them.

Sure sounds great, just wish it would be a STAR not a LANCE !

and it would be the best death ever. =D

sorry to bust the mood though but since they'd be in clan mechs would they have to fight using the clan honor rules?

This would be awesome ..... might not be enough devs .... but they could recruit some to help em out or just do it over a few weeks or a month .... this would be so frickin memorable

Especially if the 2 teams that were fighting each other realized what was going on and worked together or some such .....

An epic idea, and I don't even like the Clans. This should really be posted in Suggestions.
To make it truly authentic, it couldn't be completely without warning: they would have to offer a batchall before they drop. Not an actual batchall with negotiations and such, just a confirmation that they know the "defenders" and they are matching with appropriate force.

They would also have to ensure that everyone on the board had a chance to participate, so it would have to take place only a few seconds into the match

I doubt it will happen.

Consider how many servers and battles there could be at anyone time. If they bothered to do so, it will only be seen by a small group of players even if they played all day.

The approach to clan invasion sounds good. Actually a random drop of mechs on the battlefield during our normal matches. That would cause such a frenzy and excitement. Both teams possibly automatically calling a truce until the clan is dealt with, well they would do with some common sense.

Hah opposing teams putting aside their differences during a match to deal with clans, the back stabs would be rife during that firefight ;)

This Dev teams seems small and dedicated enough to pull something like this off. I think EVERY member of the team could be on the map at once and not lag.

Why do people keep talking about this like it's an MMO?

There's going to be thousands of people playing in servers of like, 24 players, max. How do you really think they could pull this off? They'd have to do it one server at a time, and they'd have to have several people dedicated to it in order to form a team, and their team is small. So, odds are, the vast majority of you would never see such an event.

I used to play City of Heroes... There were a few Dev driven events that were very memorable.

Oh god i remember when random crap like a army of Giant clockwork kings would attack atlas park... gotta love them GM's

If this were to happen... wow awesome. Fighting with your enemy against a common enemy, yet at the same time not trusting your IS enemy. They would have to recruit some people to really make it feel like an invasion, but if i get invaded (like dark souls) I know i'd be pretty "OMFGWTF" to say the least.

That would be an AWESOME idea - but it would have to be selected early closed-beta members in good standing too, possibly using guest accounts to hide their identity, so that the events aren't tied to any one prime-time. It would be a shame to have a situation like APB:R had with their Christmas event where the majority of the players actually saw nothing.

Having random clan invasions would be very cool though especially if they were good enough roleplayers and familiar enough with the BT universe to use clan-speak and tactics.

If nothing else, having one dev or agent controlling a star of NPC mechs would be cool... being able to control each mech directly or by controlling them from a tactical console.

I would love to see this done right, it would have to involve at least a week of practice for those involved though. Learning the proper clan speak and clan tactics. I think the difference between upsetting the entire player base and upsetting some (while giving everyone an awesome time) lies within proper adherence to zellbrigen. Sure a star of clan mechs would be hell, but at least it could be managed when the clan mechs only go 1v1 while the IS hopefully would realize the benefit of lance tactics.
