Okedokey,
What mechs do you start with, people on here are saying you can start with an atlas from the word go.... isnt that a bit stupid? whats the point of earning XP?, you should start in the smallest crummiest mech and work up, earning c-bills and XP to pilot the bigger mechs. If you can use EVERYTHING from the start its just going to be an assault jamboree dancing in the twilight hours.

Please dont say everyone will start with assults and that in every match you can use them, because thats just going to blow bigtime.

I heard somewhere we'll get to pick one from twelve but I'm not sure. and you're right. letting people play what they want right from the getgo is a horrible way to treat your players. the point of a game is to make money by any means possible regardless of how miserable it makes paying customers. after all their time investment and love of the franchise keeps them here regardless of how we ab ahuhuh sorry got a little EA in me there, it's gone now.

Ok mate, Please read some thread and get some back story. If you have a team of assaults, it'll get its *** kicked by a team of lights. There are PRO's and CONS to everything i this game. Everything is balanced. I'll gladly take on atlas's with my hunchback or centurion.

OH and the search function is your /thread, I mean friend. B) Enjoy your stay at MWO.

Just cause you can start with a any mech does not mean it will be the best one. Think about aloder variants vs the later ones.

Not to mention that you won't have the better loadouts that come from earning C-bills.

Blackfire1 sums it up pretty well, but allow me to elabroate:
The whole role warfare is what they are aiming for here. As discussed a long time ago in the development process, this will not be an arms race to the Assault Class. Scouts will find you, provide your info to their team... this can then lead to say, a Catapult raining fire on you and you haven't even noticed another 'mech yet.

To answer your question, I would imagine you will start with X Cbills, what you purchase from there will be your decision to match your style.

The problem is, this is going to be a F2P, were going to get people who dont know how to play, were going to have HUNDREDS of leroy jenkins in atlas`s running towards you unguided and unaware of how to play.

Heheheheheh, let them have their donkeyaults.
My lance of DRG-5K Grand Dragons and JR7-F Jenners will kick their donkeys, since we'll have the mobility to attack them from behind.

That sounds seriously awesome.
Give me some long range fire support and I'll just tag 'em all in my raven and bathe in c-bills as they get popped without ever leaving their base.

I'm done. it was hard with all the time and money I have invested there but ultimately I feel that with the way they treat their customers, the matchmaker, and all the competitively detrimental elements, that the game is no longer worth my time. Since world of tanks has left me scarred in that department, unfortunately I have little slack to afford.

I found the only way I could do it was to just cut ties and run, I had tried quitting many times in the past but my perceived duty to clan wars and the enjoyment I found with my clan mates kept pulling me back in, meanwhile my sleep schedule was deteriorating and my blood pressure was rising. Do you know I even got a month gag once because I decided to start explaining why world of tanks will never be good competitively in general chat, and when I disputed it they told me it counted as insult to the developers? Talk about buttdevastation! Talk about hubris!

From my understanding you will have a starting allocation of c-bill to buy what you want to. Also I think some people are being silly, no way they'd default start you on one of the more expensive mechs.

I'm still pretty sure you'll get a good selection of different classes to choose from. my understanding has it that off of the original mechs there are mech trees or something, allowing you to unlock more advanced variants. but I get my news from a 90 year old neighbor with bad eyesight and no shins so I'm not sure how valid this information is
