It happens quite often and I've grown tired of documenting it because PGI doesn't care/can't stop it.

Yeah, I've reported so much stuff that I've given up. They clearly don't have the manpower to police it. I still send in the obvious stuff, like someone going off with racial slurs, etc., but I never expect anything to happen.

Are you sure you weren't sync dropping as well? I mean how often do you see 3 blackjacks on one team? Just kidding.

Haha, yeah I noticed that. Stuck us all in the same lance, too. Probably why we lost. :P

Don't expect anything to happen because PGI is desperate for warm bodies. I had a week where my ELO placed me with these same TKing foul mouthed players calling others "Phrags" and ect.... reported them via mwo support and was thanked for reporting it, but saw those same scrubs in matches up to 2 weeks post reporting them.

I was with a group that did 'sync drops with (c) mechs' one night and we'd usually end up evenly split between the teams. I sort of thought that was the point (to fight each other).

Why would a sync drop put everyone on the same team?

There is a way to deal with this B$!

If 2+ people share the same unit identifier and drop with in X amount of each other they are automatically put in a different matches. It would also do a bit more in evening out the solo queues Elo's. If PGI separates people who play together all the time and most likely have a similar Elo. Put one in one drop the other/s in another and give a bit better Elo matching. Instead of putting 2 on one team or 1 on each (so they can possibly) sabotage their team.

I have seen failed sync drops where someone in the same unit will shoot the team they got put with just so their buddy can win.
I have seen failed sync drops where the 2+ members will just act like they are on a different team then the rest of the players and shoot friend and foe alike.

Sync dropping is an issue, and my 2nd sentence is a way to stop it!

I think it tries to assemble one team, then tries to put another team together against it. There's probably more than a 50% chance you'll end up on the same team if you coordinate it over comms.

I would only see a issue if there was a way to get a bunch of people on the same team consistently. Somebody going ohhhh sync drop in a single game could just mean they happened to run into each other. I have that happen, won't even be trying to sync drop and after a while I will end up on the same team as one of the 1-2 other guys in my clan that are solo dropping. Theres not a huge player base so its not that unlikely.

I use it to step up my game maybe change my loadout

this is what happens
at the beginning of a match a really fast light shows up (scouting I guess)
I have already setup my LRM position

next an assassin or two come over the top right at me totally ignoring other mechs and take me out
great team work

so instead of crying on the forum I take off half my LRMs and mount a CUAC20 but I haven't seen a team since I mounted the gun
they seem to be few and far between
but when they do show up they give you a lesson in tactics and a butt kicking you wont soon forget

If you can do that. Really is bad for the total playerbase.

Edit: however my friend list of ppl on to play is growing....
Guess they all just do group! Hardly bs is bs.

So glad this thread is so full of screen shots proving that there is a massive epidemic of games being ruined by nefarious sync droppers.

just watch NGNGtv on twitch, its been done there blatantly during solo challanges by several streamers.

Personally I dont think its "ruining the games" but its definatly bad sportmanship.

How succsefull are they and what times? Also, how big a group doing it at once? you get 20 ppl dropping at the same time, get 2 hardly unexpected.

edit: I stay away from pug/solo unless I need to play it for a challenge, so I'm ignorant.

any screens to proof this? I have yet not seen more than 3 people of the same unit in a PUG match, and in said match only 2 have been in the same team. It doesn't looks like synch dropping works at all.

actually, if there is a "no" on the premade deicsion there needs to be further questions:

did they had more lrms than your team":
yes --> Whine at PGI to fix.
no --> did they had more ecm than your team:
yes --> Whine at PGI to fix
no --> flame team for being bad

So the mm fills teams in alternation - that means that if you sync with 4 friends even if you end up in the same match it will literally alternate teams with you.

Is it bad when people manage to sync in the pug queue? Yeah, people who sync drop in the pug queue (outside of things like MMM) are pretty feeble.

You can't fix broken people though. Just is what it is.

Sync droppers should be a bannable offense. In this case i would just name and shame them

Speaking of bad sportsmanship.

I log in. Turn on some music. Do some solo drops before getting on comms and doing group que.

Others in my unit do the same and often we end up in matches together. Its going to happen..

Aside from that.. If people have to resort to solo sync dropping to get an advantage, chances are they aren't that good to begin with.

Wouldn't it be easy for the matchmaker to distribute same unit tags across both teams in solo queue?
