Pretty sure PGI stated that they considered sync-dropping a form of cheating and was unacceptable, but unfortunately impossible to police.
Highlights another reason that Matchmaking is flawed, totally exploitable.
As for chances of success in sync-dropping, i've done it in the past with various people( Needed to try and see for myself how it worked) and we found a high degree of success with only a few occasions of ending up on opposite teams, which can merit its own advantages.
Simple fact is it happens, and way more than some would claim, hell this community was practically founded on sync-dropping, its always happened, why would scrubs stop doing it now?.
There's a number of units and individuals who are particularly bad for it, guess shame isn't something they feel.
Well if it is so easy to do, you must get sync dropped people on both sides a lot right? I dont think you guys are actually looking at hte biggest issues this game has: first and formost being (imo) that there are too many obselete mechs. There needs to be more diversity, and that is partially PGI not making the right balances. The other thing is that is mostly OUR faults. You see, people can prepare for dire wolfs and adapt. What keeps people on their toes is a sporatically different team composition. Sync dropping shouldn't even be looked at AS AN ISSUE in the first place. Why? Because if you pugs actually made a plan by typing, you would see a huge increase in wins, and you would be just as organized as they were. VOIP wont change a damn thing if nobody is willing to use it or cooperate.
